In all due honesty, the trailer was fairly on the badass-between-lame scale, more to the left. I prefered the visuals. I call Bones, ladies and gentlemen.

I think it's interesting that everyone's assuming we've seen the entire intro. I also find it interesting that everyone's basing their views on this game solely on the minute and a half of it we've seen so far. Very interesting indeed. The hate-wheels have already begun to spin in the forums across the interwebs. Looks like the Neckbeard army will rise again.

I don't think we've seen so much as the intro, possibly just a cinematic leading you through the intro to catch you up to speed. After all, you have to consider many Halo lovers across the world HAVEN'T read the books, simply because they find the game too good to look into its actual history. I take a great interest that Pre-Halo 1 gear is appearing, meaning that they're not going to just give us another Halo game with the standard gear. From what I know (through a few leaked screenshots on Youtube via interview about it) I think this Halo, if it is like ODST, will make it look like garbage.
Then again, it still has a few more months to be finished.
Edit: By good, I mean they're too stunned and caught up in the game to care about reading.

Eh, I am looking at the trailer from Bungie now, and now I aint not so, negative.
Also, they are Spartan IIs... Just Mark III or IV armor by the looks of things.
EDIT: I watched the vid a few times.
ARMOR ARE: Old School Recon (Mark V?), E.V.A. of sorts, Mark IV (or V) Mjolnir, C.O.B-ODST-like helmet, Rogue-ish helmet. Body Armor is also E.O.D like... (COUGHBUNGIEARMORCOUGH)
The skull dude looks like he SCRATCHED the skull into his visor. Kat-320 has a robotic right arm. Hence, they found her to useful to get rid of so they gave her the means to carry on battling. Commander looks sweaty and icky! Jorge-052 is ftw. The Sniper haz teh r3c0nz. Sixth member, the new guy, has a C.O.B-ODST helmet, kinda.
The team looks well set.

I liked it. It had a growing excitement to it, which you only see in good movies like Inglorious Bastards or Kill Bill
