"Tomato is good." Angelina Didn't mind one bit though she'd wish he'd speak clearer there was no point mumbling. But she kept the thought to herself. She watched him take a spoon from his coat pocket, Angelina then glanced out to the horizon. What were the chances really... She wondered. It would be just her luck that someone would come looking for her sooner than need be or something just plain odd would happen.
Angelina frowned "That's just because someone tried to assassinate our General!" She had been one of the ones who help catch him too. Though she never was told where he came from. She doubt she ever would be. "Didn't you guys loose your General?" she asked at least she thought she had heard something like that. A rumor had been flying around, but a soldier would know that for sure.
"I sure hope there wont be a war." Angelina said outright, sure it was important to fight for your home but they were at peace and should stay that way. She frowned though knowing full well it wasn't a common thought. "It would have been bad for both sides had we decided to fight each other." It would have been a perfect reason to increase patrols and tensions would increase. So maybe they did know, but what were they expecting if they did run into each other? Which obviously they had. Angelina vaguely heard something underneath his she raised her brow, "Really now." she looked back to her sandwich and didn't press any further.
Angelina took the BLT and started eating. "Not bad." she said after swallowing then took another bite. Angelina had a habit of wolfing down food when she was hungry and within minutes the sandwich was gone and then gulped down the water to finish it. She grinned "that was good," She hadn't realized how hungry she had been when she was out she tended to forget to eat.
She looked over at Talon when he brought the soup, she could see faint steam rising from the cups. As he asked about hobbies Angelina hardly even had to pause to think about it "I paint and then sometimes sketch." she said simply before asking "What about you?"

Talon stopped what he was doing and glanced over at Angelina. "You're serious? Who'd be crazy to do that!? " He may be on the opposing side, but still it was a slight against the military and the defenders of a country. "I'd rather try to sneak off with a bunkmate's sword than ever get handed the files for that. Nothing honorable about attacking another team's general." he would have mumbled something else, but he held his tongue. Showing his actual personality could be a bit dangerous...
She brought up the loss of his own General, and that brought a grin to Talon's face. Not because he was happy, but because he was amused in a slightly offended way. "Yes. The General was lost to us. Unfortunately, not much was known about how it happened. The office plans on releasing a public statement once more facts are known. I'd check the paper's then. " And a massive bite was taken out of the sandwich, like he wasn't in the mood to discuss his own countries policies and politics regarding dead soldiers and generals.
A huff of a laugh was muffled through a mouth full of food. Boy, was she right or what! "It boosts the economy and national pride. There are other reasons to go to war, but I think right now old soldiers from the past wars are itching to fight again. We haven't had a peace this long in Dynasties. " He was thrilled with the conversation. It wasn't about killing, or weapons...but good old fashioned policies of the state that determined the death toll and course of actions.
"It was? Oh good." It seemed like she hadn't ate in a long while by the way she wolfed down food. He raised an eyebrow and debated on handing her his other sandwich. Maybe if she got completely full he wouldn't be devoured in a feeding frenzie...? "The turkey isn't half bad." he grinned, chewing slowly on his meal. Normally he would wolf it down as well, but he didn't want to head back just yet. He wasn't expected for several hours anyway.
"Really? " He said not missing a beat. So she was another prevailer of the arts. Interesting. "Sketching and historical anthropology." Talon said as he pulled out a 4"x6" black leather moleskin sketchbook from a pocket in his pants. He tossed it on the blanket and grinned. "Old habit from my days as a Civvie. Keeps me amused on long days. " Inside there were numerous characters of folks around the base as well as a few sketches of old artifacts he found on scouting rounds. "How's the soup? " he asked as he dunked a bit of the turkey into the soup then nommed on it.

"Someone rather insane..." Angelina sighed, she hadn't intend it to be a shot at the Empire she was certain after helping catch the man it wasn't someone from the empire, and it didn't seem to be someone from the republic. She hadn't been told anything afterward.
Angelina gave him a confused look, why was he grinning wasn't it something terrible? Nor had she meant in it to offend him. But she still couldn't figure out why he was grinning. "My condolences for the loss of your general." she said in all seriousness.
"It does but there's always the people that get caught in the crossfire." She hadn't actually experienced a war, she had been born during the years of peace and hoped it would stay that way.
Ah another Artist. Though she shouldn't be surprised, an army was filled with all kinds. SHe looked curiously at the sketchbook, "Would you mind if I looked?" She asked. She too had a sketchbook up in her cockpit, maybe she shoudl go get it. Angelina glanced over to the liger briefly.

"It's just politics... Probably some upstarting radical group individual deciding that he wanted to break the military at its core..." He stated. "The poor kid must have been brainwashed pretty good to even think of a suicidal mission like that. "
A chuckle and the male shrugged. "Thank you. But don't worry about it. It is more of a loss to the Emperor than to the troops. I'm sure that the next General set in place will be sure to make a huge boring speech about how they're going to follow in the deceased's footsteps." For a morbid topic, Talon was pretty bright and cheery about it. No use getting upset over spilled milk. The milk was still spilled even if there was a tantrum. "I'm sorry. I suppose I should act more upset than I am. "
A nod and a sigh. There were always people getting caught up. It was some unwritten law. If there was a war or even a whisper of a war, there would be casualties leading up to it. "It cannot be helped. Some are innocent, some are not. " He dunked the remaining sammich into the red soup and devoured it, sipping at the soup idly afterwords. "If I could, I'd lock the whole Civilian population away so that We could get the blasted war over with with minimal casualties. But that would cost too much money, not to mention make both the Empire and the Republic look like a body of fools. " He paused his speech. "I'm sorry. I ramble about this sort of thing. I probably should be keeping quiet. My opinions don't reflect the rest of the Empire population's. "
He grinned and motioned for her to go ahead. He had thrown it out there for that very reason. "Go right ahead. I trust you enough to not run off with it. " With that he layed back on the blanket and stared up at the sky, the bottle of water sitting on his chest and the empty cup of soup set aside. "What sort of subjects do you paint, Angelina, if I may ask? "

"Not doubt." Angelina agreed, the man had been incredibly foolish to attack a general at a military party. Like that was suicide.
"It's alright, perhaps it's worse if you know the man himself." she figured that must be the reason, it seemed as though the republic soldiers knew their General better than the Empire.
She started eating the soup giving a slow nod "It's good." she smiled "Thank you." before they had moved to the rather depressing topic of civilians dying in war. "It may actually be unfortunately though I wish it weren't, but yes it would make both the Empire and the Republic look like fools." for innocent people to die during the war was the worst thing. And most agreed. Yet it still happened. "It's alright." she said "Most are of the same mind." at least that's what she found.
Angelina bent over carefully to pick up the sketchbook and started flipping through it. "I like to paint the sky and landscapes. I also tend to sketch the zoids in the hanger when I'm odd duty." she chuckled "They make good models." she continued flipping through nodding occasionally. "These are wonderful." she said when she was finished and handed the sketchbook back to Talon.

Suicidal or not, Talon had to give that kid kudos for having the guts to pull a stunt like that. Course, the kid was now enemy numero uno, but that was the price to pay for a gutsy move like that.
He trailed off the topic of war and death, figuring it was the worst possible topic to discuss over a meal. It wasn't, but it was up there. He didn't have anything to add to the discussion. "Not all are of the same mind. Some agree out of fiscal rational. Mostly arms dealers... Ah, but oh well. Can't do nothing about them without blowing them up. " He would have laughed, but he decided to take a drink of the nummy vitamin water instead.
Eyes moved from the sky to watch the girl as she flipped through his bound life. "They are pretty decent subjects... But the sky? That's unusual.." He said with a grin. It wasn't that odd, but you don't hear of many sane people speaking about how they love to paint the sky. Usually it was the loonies fresh from the loony bin or fine artist talking about how the sky is their eternal freedom and depicting that is their main goal in life..and yadda yadda yadda with the crazy talk of holistic love and brotherhood that falls apart when you mention something is out of scale. Not that he had any experience with that...um...-cough- anyways!
"Thank you. They're just sketches mind you. I haven't picked up anything more than charcoal in years. Too expensive. Not enough time. Say..." he took a random guess, "If you have sketchbook with you, mind if I take a gander at it? " He sat up, though reclining on his forearms a bit.

As the topic shifted away from death to art the mood lightened considerably. Angelina smiled art was different depenign on the person "Like people the sky has different moods on different days, I like to paint things in the sky too." She tried to explain "I used to pilot a ptera I had a lot of time to sketch up there." she chuckled.
Angelina nodded "I do have a sketchbook up there, let me get it for you." Angelina stood up after she quickly finished her soup and placed the bowl neatly on the cloth blanket. "But I really like your work." she said before going over to Seraphim.
Seraphim lowered its head as Angelina motioned for it to do so. "Thanks buddy." she said as she climbed into the cocpit to retrive her sketchbook which was roughly an 8 x 11 size and thick. Planting her feet on the ground she handed her sketchbook over to Talon.

He chuckled. "That would explain the sky then. Never been in the sky. Never plan on it save for when the need arises. I prefer the ground far too much. I'm sure it must have been a blast for yah. "
"Mhm? Oh. Okay. " Talon blinked as she darted off to her Liger to fetch the book. In the mean time he grabbed the used bowl, rinsed it with his bottled water, and stacked the used dishes for assimilation with the mess hall's dishes at the appropriate time. He grinned softly at the compliment again...though he was quite sure she was only saying that to be nice. After all, he was his own worst critic and praise was a difficult pill to swallow.
He was soon on his feet, walking over to where the girl had disappeared, only to get a book shoved in his hands. Not really shoved, more like offered and he obligingly took. Curiosity had gotten the best of him... And he didn't mind flipping through the book. Page after page he scanned with his eyes with an impartial gaze. Eventually the corners of his lips twitched in a smile. She wasn't half bad... "Nice..." he praised. A soft laugh and he offered the book back, "I'm rather impressed and humbled. You must have more free time than I. "

"It was indeed" she smiled slightly thinking of it. Though it was still something else to be partnered with Seraphim. if nothing else you may find it an experience if you ever get up there in one of your Redlers." The experience of flying isn't something she was able to describe with words and did her best to show it with her paintings.
Angelina waited for him to finish and give her the book back. "I'm glad you like it, but yours is really good too." she tried to remind him. She had honestly really liked them. He was really talented. Angelina took the book carefully and sighed "I hardly have as much time as I used to to paint and sketch." she said rather wistfully.

"I'll ask sometime to maybe try that. " Talon nodded at the suggestion of the Redler. He almost forgot they had some rentals of those. He'd need to get permission from Tyrant and the command, but it would be interesting to try once.
Her careful reminder was noted and in response he raised an eyebrow. "Thank you for allowing me to look at your life. " A soft smile was upon his face as he said that. He noted the change in her vocal cadence and shrugged. "Well, we can't get everything we want. Time'll present itself. Hell...if you'd like, I'm sure Tyrant would sit still for yah. " Talon laughed.
There was a groan from the large green raptor at that. Course it would be still. It had no pilot guiding its systems... It was, essentially, in 'Park'.

"Same to you." she said, it was true, and artist's sketchbook was their life, it was true. Angelina was always devastated when she misplaced the book. She gave a nod "True," she said before laughing at the zoid's groan. "I'm sure he would," she spoke lightheartedly before getting an idea.
"How bout I draw him now for you." She suggested taking a pencil from her uniform pocket. "I can do a few sketches and give one to you." She offered, there was time now to draw, and she didn't mind another artist looking over her shoulder.

He snickered and smiled, flopping back down onto the blanket to clean up the crumbs and wrappings. "Go for it. He'll cooperate, wont you Tyrant? " Talon glanced up at the mighty raptor. It sighed in acceptance and proceeded to continue scanning...since what else could it do? It was already standing still.
"If you like I could throw a sketch together of your pretty liger?" She was offering a sketch, he might as well. Fair trade and all. Besides, he liked the angle. Made it look all.. regal.

Angelina gave a nod "Sure we can do an art trade." She looked over to Seraphim "I'm sure he wouldn't mind either would you?" she asked the zoid. It grumbled it's approval Seraphim's AI had some vanity to it. Angelina used to trade art all the time with the other artists when she was younger, now it just sits at her home in the Helic capital. Angelina sad down neatly in front of Tyrant.
She opened her sketchpad and began drawing.

Talon grinned and then sized up the massive Liger. Very pretty machine, he had to admit. The paint was quite lovely. A ball-point pen was pulled out and his little moleskin was brought out as well. He'd rip out the page, no worries on his part.
The scratching of his pen was soon heard as he started humming while he sketched away. A simple cross-hatched doodle with a bit of smudging was completed in a pretty decent time frame...around twenty minutes. It was a quick sketch so he did a quick one for himself, writing a bit about the colors and the pilot's influences. These wouldn't ever see any other eyes. he made sure of that with the use of the postal system and sealing wax.
Completed, he held his sketch book up to show his rather patient subject. Talon grinned, figuring the AI would mark his face as well as voice for later references. "Hows that? not to bad eh? "

By the time Talon had finished his sketch Angelina only had a rough sketch, she had yet to solidify the lines and shade with the pencil. The Rev raptor was quite feirce looking just sitting there like he was, he was gorgeous in essence. She hadn't seen a rev raptor quite like this one before. There was something special about it.
Angelina looked over her shoulder "It's absolutely wonderful, you did an excellent job capturing Seraphim's essence in pen and ink." she smiled. She had taken quite a few art classes. She must sound strange ot someone who just sketched.
"Give me about 20 more minutes and I'll have it shaded." she told him. "Tyrant is a very fine machine."
Seraphim growled impatiently, it wanted to see the picture too though didn't move.
Angelina chuckled before turning around again. "Seraphim wants to see as well." she translated with a chuckle before going back to her own sketch.
