mrgreen Team Eon
Captain Setis Zaru
Co-Captain Esuna Reu -In Team Room-Esuna sighed as she looked around the main room,
"Why did Setis even choose this as a base?" she wondered to herself quietly.
"Because it's big! Ohh! And mysterious," Setis said as he popped out of the hallway suddenly. Esuna nearly jumped out of her fur when he popped out,
"Y-you scared me!" She nearly screamed at him before calming down,
"And I didn't mean it like that, it's just that I'm wo-" "Mean what like what?" Setis interrupted with a childish look on his face. Esuna blinked,
he didn't hear what I said? she wondered to herself before replying,
"N-never mind. Now the first thing we need to do is clean this place up. After that we'll repaint the wa-" "Nope nope!." Setis interrupted once again with a childish smile,
"We spent the money on all those apples we had yesterday, remember?" Esuna's jaw dropped.
"Th-the a-apples?" She stuttered. They had eaten a HUGE amount of apples the day they entered, but she had assumed that the guild had provided them and had eaten all but three. Esuna panicked, she began talking so fast that her words mushed together in one continuous sound and her voice began rising as she ran back and forth, then she froze. Her eyes, which were now close to tears, were glued to a piece of paper that Setis had just placed on the table,
"Don't worry, I got a job for us. Now everything will be all better!" Setis said happily, sitting down and wagging his tail. Esuna took the paper and looked through it,
"So... all we have to do is check up on this grumpy old Weavile? That shouldn't be hard I guess," She said then sighed,
"This won't give us any more food... It won't even help us get the money we need to get food..." Esuna sighed once more before putting the paper down on the desk,
"Well, it's better than nothing. When do you want to go?" "Right now, it'd be fun! Come on," Setis immediately said, pouncing on her tail and biting it, trying to drag her out the door.
"OWW OWW!!! Stop it! I'm coming please let go!" She screamed as she was dragged out the door.
Floors 1-5
-The Start of an Adventure-
"Snow, snow, ice, ice," Setis said in a sing-song voice, seemingly unaffected by the snow. Esuna shivered as she heard what he was singing about,
"Aren't you at least a little cold?" She asked with a questioning look. Instead of answering, Setis eyes widened,
"Ohh look!" Esuna looked in the direction he was looking. At first she saw nothing, but then suddenly a small flash of light could be seen far away.
"Do you think that's the lighthouse?" She asked him as she turned to him. He was gone. Esuna panicked,
"Setis! SETIS!" she screamed looking around frantically before he popped out from a hole in the ice almost directly under her,
"That's no shortcut! I guess we just have to walk there on the ice." He started walking, seemingly oblivious to the fact that Esuna had panicked.
"Setis!" She yelled after him, then muttered to herself before running after him,
"Hey, wait up!"Team Eon wandered toward the direction of the lighthouse, carefully stepping over small cracks in the ice as they went until they reached a large crack that seemed to go for miles in both directions.
"Hmm," Esuna pondered for a while before she nodded,
"We have to climb down, that would be much faster than trying to go around I think" Setis looked around and before spotting a path down to a bridge of ice that connected the two haves,
"There!" he said, starting toward the path. Esuna grinned,
"Good thinking Setis, we can use the bridge to get across," she said while following him. As they reached the ice bridge however, Esuna could see parts of it already falling off.
"Uhh, Setis? I don't think it's safe-" She began, but Setis was having none of that! He quickly turned around, bit down on her tail, and dragged her across while she pleaded for him to let go,
"Please, you don't understand, the bridge! It'll colla-" The bridge collapsed. Esuna sat curled up against Setis waiting to fall, knowing that if they did fall, they may never come out.
"Ouch, hey let go, that hurts Esuna," Esuna opened one eye, and saw... the broken bridge! They had crossed it, but... she closed her eyes and composed herself before opening them and looking at Setis with a questionable look,
"Hey, weren't we on the middle of the bridge when it collapsed?" Setis gave her a funny look then laughed,
"Your funny!" And without another thought he began to search for a way up. Esuna frowned and looked at the fallen bridge once more.
I'm positive that we hadn't crossed it yet, and Setis hadn't exactly said that they had crossed it... Her thoughts were interrupted when Setis nudged her with his paw,
"Hey, I can't find a way up," Esuna looked along the icy wall and saw that he was right, unless they were human-like pokemon, they had no way of getting up to the other side. What did catch her attention though was a hole that looked almost pokemon-made.
"What if we go through there?" Esuna asked pointing to the hole. Unfortunately when she looked for Setis, he was almost half way there already.
"Setis..." Esuna sighed before following once more.
As they approached the cave, they heard a roar that shook some ice from the walls come from the cave, and though Setis seemed unfazed by it, Esuna slowed until she was just barely inching towards the cave,
"S-Setis? Did you hear that?" She asked in a shaky tone, "That sounded like a Gyrados. Maybe we should take another path." Setis looked back without slowing his pace,
"I think your ears are broken, there's no water, so it can't be a Gyrados," Esuna gave a start. Setis, actually reasoning? She gave a relieved laugh, and he was right too. A Gyrados wouldn't be where there was no water, and this place was all ice. Her relieved laughter stopped as she reached the cave's entrance. Inside the cave was huge and hollow... and it held a huge lake with an enraged Gyrados rampaging on the other side of where they were.
"Whoops, guess I was wrong!" Setis said to Esuna, just loud enough to catch the Gyrados's attention and have it come toward them at full speed.
"It's ok, I'll handle him," Setis said, and to Esuna's surprise, he looked serious, almost angry if she hadn't known that Setis never got angry... or did he? Whatever he was feeling was pretty much unknown to her as he jumped forward, and with his fur sparkling with charged electricity and angry eyes flashing as he reached the water, Esuna was dumbstruck!
I've never seen him like this, she thought just watching the shinx go against what seemed like impossible odds. As the Gyrados neared, Setis let loose a charged thunder shock into the water, electrifying everything in the water including the Gyrados. The Gyrados stopped suddenly, roaring in pain before sinking into the water.
"You did it!" Esuna cried happily hugging the shinx who stood proudly looking over the lake. The smile became a laugh as nearly 10 magikarp floated to the surface knocked out. Suddenly, a roar shook the cave, cutting off everyone's laughter. A second roar, then a third roar followed, and Esuna's eyes widened at the sight of 3... no 4... no 5 more Gyrados breached the surface of the lake, causing the ice cave to shake and collapse the entrance.
Setis's thunder shock WOKE them up, not only that but he knocked out, and possibly killed some of their offspring, Esuna thought horrified.
"Setis, come on!" She yelled back at Setis who was staring cluelessly at the enraged Gyrados.
"Coming!" He yelled back, running just in time to dodge a tail coming down where he was. Just in time, they reached an ice tunnel that stretched deeper into the cave. Esuna realized that the tunnel was just big enough to fit one of the Gyrados had they slithered into the cave but as she looked back at the entrance, she saw that three were trying to get in at once, trying their hardest to push the other Gyrados out of the way so they could take out there rage on the two man party, effectively blocking themselves from coming in. She shivered,
"Setis, I think we have to go deeper, if only to get away from these Gyrados." Setis looked back happily,
"Ok!" before he began walking down deeper into the cave.
"Well, at least the cave looks like it's going up," Esuna muttered to herself before quickly catching up to Setis. Though he didn't seem phased by the Gyrados, his pace was much quicker, and Esuna was more than happy to keep pace.
It had been nearly 3 hours since they fled from the Gyrados but Esuna was still shivering from the encounter.
I wonder if they're following us, She silently asked herself, then quickly put that thought out of her mind. Thinking things like that wouldn't get her anywhere. She then looked around at the walls, running her hand against the smooth ice.
"I wonder why this tunnel's so smooth here," She wondered to herself.
"Silly Esu, the Gyrados use these tunnels! Don't you see where the fins scrape the ice?" Setis replied happily to Esuna, who was sorry she asked in the first place. Soon, Team Eon reached an area where it sloped down again, but before Esuna could go down, Setis jumped up against the wall, looking at the ceiling.
"Esu! Esu! I can see the sun from here!" Setis exclaimed happily. Esuna looked up, and saw that he was right. Through the thin ice, the sun could be seen.
The sun... She thought to herself for a moment before a thought came to her,
"We can go through the thin ice!" Setis gave her a funny look then laughed,
"Silly Esu, We don't go through ceilings. We go through doors, and tunnels." Esuna sighed, even if she explained it he most likely wouldn't get it, or possibly ignore the whole thing. Without a word of warning, she went over and climbed on Setis until she was standing on his head.
"Esu, I'm not a ponyta," Setis laughed, though he didn't try to shake her off.
"The ice can't be that thick, we could see the sky almost perfectly," Esuna muttered to herself hitting the ice. She smiled when the thin ice cracked open easily. Using her tail to lift her, she just barely reached out of the now large crack in the ice.
"Now, grab my tail and I-" Esuna yelped as Setis bit down on her tail much harder than he usually did. She pulled him up and after he let go, she tended to her now bent tail.
"You didn't have to bite so hard," She whimpered before looking up. Setis was already moving. Esuna sighed before following once more.
It wasn't long until Team Eon reached the half way mark.
"Finally, A break!" Esuna sighed before plopping down on the ice.
"Break break!" Setis exclaimed, using his teeth to undo the knot of their treasure bag. When the bag hit the ground, a juicy apples rolled out.
That's one... Thought Esuna, slightly sad that there were only two apples left in their entire stock. She jumped when she felt the apple hit her foot and looked up to Setis's childish smile,
"Here you go, I don't want you getting hungry Esu." Esuna frowned,
Had he eaten while I wasn't looking? She wondered to herself, double checking the bag. When she saw two apples still in the bag, she looked back at Setis with a frown,
"Setis, you should eat too." Setis shook his head, curled up, and stared at her with his large, round eyes,
"Yah, but I know Esu is hungry so it's ok," He said with a smile. Esuna was touched, and accepted the apple with a thank you. As she ate the apple, she looked up a few times, and each time she did, Setis seemed to be watching her with a curious look, as if seeing her for the first time. After Esuna had finished, she tied the bag back onto Setis's back.
"Come on, we'll be late if we wait around here. Hurry Esu, hurry!" Setis urged Esuna as he ran in the direction of the lighthouse.
"I'm coming, hold on," Esuna laughed as she tried to catch up to him.
Levels 6-10
-Revenge of the Purple Shelled Pokemon!-
For now, the shellder's words are pending. Personally, I'm not even sure I'm allowed to put this up so I'm asking the head of the guild before I do... so yah sweatdrop Setis and Esuna stood on an icy hill that overlooked yet ANOTHER large crack in the ice, but unlike the other one, the bridge was large, and stable looking, even from this distance.
"Well, no point in wasting time here," Esuna said, her voice tinged with worry as they both made their way to the bridge.
"I wonder how safe this bridge really is," She muttered to herself quietly, though apparently, not quietly enough as Setis immediately ran towards the bridge and pounced on it. "See Esu? It's safe! Now come on, we have to hurry!" He said impatiently, not seeming to notice Esuna's shocked face.
He didn't even try to test it! What if, Esuna stopped that line of thought,
"Nothing happened, and there's no point in thinking of what could have happened." Nodding to herself, she slowly followed Setis across the ice bridge. Though this bridge was much longer, it was also much more stable and wider than the last one and they crossed it without incident, well... that was until they reached the other side. Just as Setis was about to step onto the other side, his back paw hit something accidentally. What he kicked was a shellder, and where he kicked it was off the bridge. Setis and Esuna watched the shellder fall, and as it fell it screamed profanity's and threats towards the two members of team Eon. Esuna stood there shocked at what the shellder yelled at them as he was falling.
"Esu?" Setis asked as he looked down at the speck that was the shellder,
"What does f-" "NO!" Esuna nearly screamed, before clearing her throat.
"You shouldn't even say words like that! You, uh," She thought quickly before coming up with an idea,
"You'll make me sad if you ever say any of those words Setis." The alarm on his face made Esuna sigh in relief.
At least he cared, She thought before continuing towards the lighthouse with Setis following closely, a worried look on his face.
Setis seemed to forget about the shellder after a while, in fact, he seemed even happier than before the bridge.
"Esuna, what do you think the Weavile's name is?" he asked as he stepped over yet another small crack in the ice.
"His name?" Esuna asked before frowning,
"I'm not sure, the mission never really said his name." "Well in that case," Setis said as he skidded around, just barely skidding past a larger crack in the ice,
"I'm going to call him Keeper, because he's the keeper of the lighthouse. Pretty clever huh?" He asked with a grin. Esuna sighed once more,
"Yes Setis, very clever." There was no point in trying to make him change his mind once it was made up, and from the way he was acting, his mind was set on that name.
"So, what are you going to do once we find the lighthou- ah, I mean Keeper?" She asked as she jumped over a larger crack in the ice.
"You'll see," Setis said with a smirk. Esuna tilted her head in confusion.
"Do you have a plan?" She asked, genuinely curious now, but Setis just laughed and continued on, not bothering to answer her question.
"Now he's got me thinking," She muttered to herself as she followed.
-
In the distance, a small purple shell could be seen with the eyes in the shell squinting at the two figures in the distance.
"Yep, that has to be them," it muttered to itself before sinking back into the water.
Soon...The team soon reached a point where the Frigid Seas were, well, not so frigid. Though most of their surroundings were still ice, there were now rivers of freezing water, that stretched into the sea. Setis now stayed well away from the rivers ever since trying to take a drink and nearly freezing all his whiskers off. Well, that was true until they found a river they actually had to cross.
"Esuuu, do we haaave to?" Esuna shifted uncomfortably, but stood by her decision,
"Setis, we have to cross the river, that is, unless you want to take what looks like a three day walk around the river." She didn't say anything about the chance of an ice bridge across the river, because she knew that any little bit of hope would make Setis choose the "three day walk" path. Just as she had predicted, Setis gave in,
"Fine..." The duo approached the river to try and find a way across.
"I can't seem to find a way across, how a-" The sound of ice cracking made her pause, then the ground shook as the ice that they were on split from the side they were on. Esuna slid, almost falling off before grabbing onto Setis, who stood frozen with his claws in the ice. After making herself stand up, Esuna looked around and saw that the spot they were on had broken off and was now an iceberg floating down the river.
"Setis," She started, her voice full of alarm,
"If we don't get off this thing soon, where going to float into the ocean!" Esuna began trying to think of a way out of this mess, but before she could do that, Setis jumped off, dragging Esuna with him. What happened after that, Esuna couldn't tell, but by the time she figured out what happened, she was being dragged out of the water by a shivering Setis.
"W-were ac-cross n-now-w." Setis stated as he turned and continued on his way towards the lighthouse. Esuna shivered violently, they needed to get to the lighthouse more than ever now. Without saying a word, the two once again made their way towards the light house.
-
Three shellder emerged from the river after Team Eon had left.
"I suppose we failed," The first one said with disappointment in his voice.
"Well, not really. Right now, they could freeze to death," The second one said before looking at the third one,
"Are you sure those were the ones?" The third one glared towards the direction of Team Eon, the crack in his shell giving him a much more sinister look,
"Yes, those are the ones." His voice darkened with rage and his glare grew more sinister,
"I told them I would have my revenge...""F-finally!" Esuna exclaimed as they saw the lighthouse clearly. Though it would still be a while before they reached there, they were almost on the little island that the lighthouse was built on. Setis didn't answer and was, in fact, slower than before.
"Setis come on, it's close. Hurry up!" He glanced at Esuna with a slightly glazed look before putting a half-hearted smile,
"Coming Esuna," He said in a dull voice moving, seemingly slower than before toward the lighthouse. Esuna looked back at him with a worried expression on her face.
If he keeps moving this slow, he could freeze to death before he reaches the lighthouse, she thought to herself trying to come up with a plan to speed him up.
"I told you I'd have my revenge..." Esuna turned towards the voice and saw about 10 shellder, with the one in the front having a large crack in his shell.
"Revenge?" Esuna wondered to herself, trying to remember where she had seen that shellder. The shellder grew impatient,
"What? You don't remember me or something? Whatever, Shellder Squad, ATTACK!" With that, the nine other shellder charged toward the group, five clamped onto Setis, and the other four clamped onto Esuna. With a yelp, Setis dashed around Esuna screaming,
"Get them off! Get them off!" Esuna couldn't help but laugh at the sight,
"See? Now you know how I feel when you drag me by the tail." She ignored the shellder that had clamped onto her tail, dragging them along as if they were not there, that was until one decided to jump and clamp to her head,
"WAAH!" Both Esuna and Setis ran around, trying to shake off the shellder that were clamped onto them until finally, the last one fell off and both ran full speed toward the lighthouse.
-
The scarred shellder growled,
"What are you waiting for? After them!" The shellder remained motionless until one finally spoke,
"...Umm, how do I put this... I'm not sure how we can chase them without feet, claws or something to move on land. I'm not even sure how any of us got this far in the first place!" The scarred shellder sighed,
"Ok, fine. I'll tell you how we move on land, but this is the last time I tell you alright? First, we...Setis and Esuna had run half the way due to the fear of being attacked by the shellder again, but stopped when Esuna mentioned that she could not figure out how they could move on land in the first place. The encounter with the shellder made them forget the fact that they were freezing for a time, though when that was over, the effects of the cold hit them even harder.
"F... Finally..." Esuna couldn't help but smile as they reached the door of the lighthouse and... She passed out...
...
Come on, please? No! I said go away!...
Fine, but first you have to gi......
Setis? ...
Come on Esuna, wake up!Esuna woke up with a start,
Where am I? She wondered as she looked around the strange place.
"Finally, you were sleeping for a long time Esu!" Esuna jumped when she heard Setis speak, directly behind her.
"What were you dreaming about?" Esuna gave him a confused look, before answering,
"I, uh, don't remember. Where are we?" "My home, and I would be more than happy if you were to leave," An old Weavile said, walking down the long flight of stairs that ran along the wall up to the top.
"Keeper, we can't leave until the lighthouse is lit aga-" Setis began but the old Weavile interrupted,
"And I told you that I can't light the lighthouse without fuel for the lamps!" "Wait, so now we have to travel all the way back, then bring back fuel for the lighthouse?" Esuna asked, she asked before slumping down.
"What? No! I want you to go back and ask someone else to deliver it!" The old Weavile sneered,
"And tell whoever it is to bring someone who can repair the lenses. One of them seems broken, and it's messing with the light, now go! Shoo!" The old Weavile hastily shoved them out the door, slamming it behind them. Esuna could still hear the Weavile saying something about, "Dam kids," and, "Ungrateful runts" coming from the door.
"So... We're done?" Esuna asked uncertainly.
"Well... the mission never said to solve the problem, just to check up on it so... yah, I guess so!" Setis answered, just as uncertain as Esuna.
"Well, there's no reason to stick around here, lets go collect that reward!" Setis said happily as he nudged Esuna and started to make his way back to the base. Esuna sighed,
"Fine fine, I'm coming."
