"The travelling life suits me but I've been worried for you - and Hisani. She seems...traumatised." He sighed sadly, the happy-go-lucky facade failing.

"So, you have seen her...." Laini said, her voice down. She sighed. "Yes, she is still in bad shape." Her face was looking down and she seemed like that tears weren't far away. "To be honest, I don't know what I should do. How I could help her? I have given her as much time and love I can but what if my efforts are not enough?" Her sad gaze rose up high to the sky, as she would be looking for some kind of sign from there.

"Funny - that's how I feel. Everytime something bad happens to her I'm not there, even though I'd protect her with my life. And now...I don't know what you or I should do."
Muroki passed a paw over his face, as if brushing dust off. Clearing his throat, he tried offering;
"I have a small kill nearby...if either you or Hisani need any food."

"Oh, the food was just what I was looking for," Laini said, a smile appearing on her muzzle. "Please, lead the way."
After a moment, she opened her mouth again, she felt that she needed to ask this. "How Hisani acts around you?"

"Oddly. At first I thought she didn't recognise me, but now...it's curious but untrusting. Not how she used to."
With another sigh he started towards a small zebra kill, and spotted buzzards on it. With a roar; not as loud or as impressive as an adults, but still with some clout; he broke into a run.
"NO! Bloody birds, we need that."

Laini listened and nodded while they walked. "I see. When I'm around her, she is mostly attached to me. She is scared to be left alone too. Always when I go out to hunt..." Her sentence left in midway, as they were there and Muroki had already sprinted to chase hungry buzzards away. She smirked and sprinted along, giving out much greater roar than he. "Quite catch you you got," she mentioned when all buzzards were up flying in disappointed manner. No meal for them now.

With a growl he rolled the carcass over, marking his head and growing mane with blood as he did so. Heavy but not overly so.
"There...scared them off before they got to meat on the bottom atleast..." He offered an apologetic look to the elder feline. "I'll guard it while you fetch Hisani, or?"

"That works fine," the gray lioness said and soon sprinted to get her daughter.
It took a little longer than expected for her to come back with Hisani. It was maybe surprising that she was carrying her daughter in her mouth even though Hisani was already juvenile. Maybe she had too tired to walk... or too scared? Who knows.

In the meantime, the rogue male had cleaned the blood off the top of his head. No need to have his mane full of it. With it spiked and mussed, he looked almost as young as Hisani did. But then, he wasn't that much older, to be honest. Just entering his adolescence.
"Plenty of food here for you girls. I ate before, so, have as much as you wish."

Laini let Hisani down who suspiously glanced around, like fearing that someone would jump out and attack her. Laini nudged her towards the kill. "Go ahead. It's safe," she encouraged her gently. When Hisani finally went to eat carefully, Laini glanced Muroki, helpless and sorry look on her face before going next to her golden daughter and dig in herself.

"It's safe Hisani..." He echoed her mother's words and stood up, ready to guard the while they ate. If anything did attack, which he doubted, he'd be ready for them. Though really, he had some growing to do...maybe that was why he'd never been much help to this pair.
Charming Ausha and Tu and elephants and such was all very well, but his golden girl still had scars down her back.

Laini ate much quicklier than Hisani did and backed behind her, to guard her like Muroki. She watched her careful daughter's eating in protective way and made sure that no one would disturb her. Once awhile she glanced at Muroki, usually a stern look on her face but sometimes her face was worrying. This it was like everytime.

Muroki kept his gaze on the grasslands around them, eyes shining. A single buzzard landed nearby, and surprisingly, instead of chasing it away, the young lion just lead it away -so as not to disturb the lionnesses. He appeared to be...chatting with it.

Laini felt more or less thankful for Muroki as she saw him leading the buzzard away instead of chasing it. He really cared of her daughter. She didn't need any more unwanted surprises. As he was away, Hisani finished her meal and quickly run under her mother, between her feet. Laini glanced at Muroki, waiting for him to come before starting to head back to den.
"Let's go home."
