Mariels ears perked up as she took a closer look at the cube of....algae? She looked at it from all angles that were avaliable to her. "Algae..." She said the word to make sure she was saying it right. "I havent seen this before, and it grows in squares? thats so cool." She gave Kliken a smile and looked over her shoulder for the wishing dragon to make sure it was still around. She was only more convinced of its magical nature the more she learned about it and if it turned into a bird and flew away right in front of her she wouldnt be surprised. Afterall it wasnt everyday she met a magical dragon that ate everything but was supposed to eat square plants that grew only in water. It was fantastical in all the best ways!
"I'm from the water...I think, maybe I'll find some squares of algae when I go swim next time." She had never really looked for square plants before but now she was going to keep an eye out for them. Her eyes grew wide with excitement as Kliken offered to let her feed the magic dragon. "Oh yes I would like to feed him, please." She thought for a second about how food was the way to make friends with this dragon and decided to add "Does more food make better friends? cause he had a part of my cinnamon roll, in exchange for a wish." She smiled and wondered absentmindedly...maybe better food got you wishes and his regular food was normal...or...WHOA maybe Kliken had TONS of wishes saved up! she looked at Kliken with a new sense of wonder, this boy sure was lucky.

He seemed to look on that for a moment before he gave a slight shake of his head, "N-Not sure if it actually grows in squares... but they at least m-mash it into them when they are drying it." He explained, giving a smile as he watched the manner in which Tural was enjoying his treat. He loved the algae almost as much as he did... well everything else he could into his mouth. He was a rather... brave creature, willing to taste anything in the world at least once.
"R-Really? So there is algae where you swim? I wonder if I should take Tural somewhere he can swim that there is algae. I bet he'd like that." He looked over at his dragon in a curious manner, he was more then certain that if he brought his dragon out to swim and eat that the dragon would love it. He would as well given the fact that he loved to swim with his dragon, "It would be fun to do, I love to swim with Tural outside since its a ton of fun to hold onto him and go speeding around the pool at home."
Kliken seemed to think over the question posed to him before he gave a slow nod, "I think it would make better friends, yes. I eat every meal together with him." He said, giving a smile.
Upon seeing that there was a second algae cube suddenly in play Tural pushed the first one he had to the side of his mouth with his tongue before shuffling forward to where Mariel was and tried to reach the treat she was holding for him, tail swishing behind him in an eager manner.

Mariel extended her hand towards Tural with an impish grin on her face in the expectation of the sucking feeling she had gotten when he took food before. She nodded her head at Klikens comment about algae being where she swam. "Yup, I have a pool and an island but when momma forgets to clean it we get algae all over it cause she dont like to use cl-...clor....clorine." Mariel struggled for a moment to remember the chemical that her mother always complained would make life easy but that she didnt trust since mariel was always in the water. " You should come! I'll tell momma not to clean it and Tural can come eat it all!" Mariel bounced excitedly at the prospect of having tural come clean her pool by eating the dirt. It just seemed like an incredible great idea! It was after all a freshwater pool, though she was told that depending on the dragon assigned to her it might have to change to salt water...maybe she should mention this...
"But you have to come soon, cause one I get a dragon momma says we might have to put salt in the water. I dunno why, but momma says." Mariel nodded her head then wondered aloud at Klikens eating schedule. "You eat every meal with Tural? Even when you go to McDonalds?!" Mariel was so excited by the prospect of being able to take her dragon everywhere with her that this seemed like a fine thing indeed. "When I get a dragon I'll eat all my meals with it too, Just like you! Then I can get wishes and make better friends!" a broad smile exploded onto Mariels face as she began to imagine taking a dragon with her everywhere.

Kliken couldn't help but to laugh, "I think he would like to help clean if it meant getting all the algae to himself." He said, watching the manner in which Tural seemed to be getting closer and closer to Mariel but didn't seem to worried since he'd never seen the Cruzoor pounce on anything aside from a tin foil ball, "I can talk with my Mother and with my friend Than and we can see about visiting sometime."
He tilted his head to once side in a curious manner, "Your adding salt to the water?" He asked, Mariel said she didn't know why and Kliken himself couldn't fathom a guess as to why that might be either. All he knew was that it sounded odd... and he didn't know if his dragon could deal with salt water. In fact he didn't even know how he would react to it himself since he'd never been in the ocean before. He turned to looking at her when she mentioned McDonalds and he tilted his head to one side, looking almost confused, "I'm... not sure what McDonalds is. I eat a special diet so if its a restaurant then no, I we haven't been there." He said, not wanting to explain exactly what it was that he ate since he didn't want to scare anyone.
"You should though, eating with your dragon is a good way to make sure the two of you have a good bond." Sharing a meal with a dragon was like sharing with your family, it was a very, very important thing. Though at home aside from Tural the only one he ate with was Than, the rest of his family were quite private when it came to meal time for some reason he didn't understand.

Mariel was trying to make the algae square look as tasty as possible by waving it in front of Tural as she listened to Kliken. She stifled a giggle when she noticed how intent the dragon was on the cube. He really was such a focused dragon!
Mariel ooed as Kliken mentioned having a special diet, it wasnt something completely alien to her but it was still new and so like a kid she linked it to the only other thing that she knew and was similar. "You eat special things? My mommas, daddy is like that, he cant eat things with sugar. Momma says he eats it sometimes anyway, so I guess your better at your diet. Mariel always wondered how it was possible for sugar to be a bad substance but momma said and thus it was law. maybe Kliken had the same thing! He couldnt eat sugar! Of course then he couldnt go to McDonalds, how could she be so silly.
Mariel murmered agreement at the eating with family coment Kliken made. "Momma makes us eat a family dinner every night, maybe she is making a better bond with me like you do with your wishing dragon! I have to ask her if we can set a place for the dragon when I get one. Then it can bond with momma to. That would be fun." Mariel nodded and her eyes widened in happiness as she seemed to suddenly have an epiphany on why family dinners were so important. "AND maybe when you come visit we can all eat together, that would be fun..." Mariel allowed herself to drift off onto fantasizing about what her dragon would be like.

Kliken was rather happy to hear that he wasn't the only one in the world that had a special sort of diet to follow though not being able to eat sugar seemed a whole lot less strict then what he had to follow but he couldn't complain, after all he had no idea what other food was like so he couldn't really miss what he didn't understand.
He gave a little smile as he watched his dragon shuffling closer to Mariel, sitting back so that he could lift up on his back feet, reaching out with his little front feet toward the algae square that she was waving back and forth in front of him. The leech boy lifted a hand up to stifle a giggle at the sight, "Yes, I think that setting a place for your dragon would help a lot." He agreed, "Best way to make it a part of your family to to have meals with it."
There was a moment where he faltered in his smile at mention of all of them eating together if he visited. It would be hard to do since he never ate in front of anyone but a few of his family members and Tural but he could try it, maybe he could hide his meal in a thermos? He'd done that before, "Yes, maybe. I've never eaten over many places before other then once with my mother's boyfriend and his daughter."

Mariels smile broadened as she watched Tural get into position to take the treat and so she slowed down her waving of the treat to a point that the next time it neared him he could take it if he wanted.
"Yeah I think I will have to set a place for my dragon, but maybe if its to big we can all eat outside." Mariel couldnt help the giggle that escaped at the image of a huge dragon stuffed into their small kitchen. "We got a small house, but the outside is big! and we can put a place for Tural to, if you guys come, that way he wont feel left out! I can find some good algae for him to eat, or maybe he can try some of mommas stuff if he wants to, he did seem to like cinnamon rolls." mariel wondered how hard cinnamon rolls were to make since it did seem like the small sugar lathered treats were appealing to the wishing dragon. If she fed him would he give her more wishes? She would have to think on that a little more.
"You guys should come 'specialy if you havend gone to many places, cause then if the foods bad you wont notice, cause you havent eaten anywhere else!" Mariel liked her mothers cooking but she didnt really know what was good food and bad. She herself did not liked food that was cooked, preferring all her meats and fish raw and so she would have to check with someone else one day to see if her mother was indeed a good cook or not. Her mother always seemed annoyed that mariel ate raw foods and so she assumed it was a bad habit. Thus she made sure not to mention it, maybe she could change the color of whatever they had with spices or something so kliken wouldnt notice her bad manners.

Tural took the treat from her hand with his tongue, settling back so that he could slowly chew on it, a contented look on his face. The chubby dragon was a sweet thing, always cheerful, and it would seem that he was so easily bought when it came to his treats.
He was still chewing when he heard mention of a dinner place being set for him and her perked up, his little eyes going wide and his tail swished. he was all for that, eager to stuff anything into his mouth as there was nothing yet that he'd eaten food wise that he didn't like. He looked over at Kliken to stare at him in a hopeful manner that made the leech boy chuckle.
"I will be sure to talk it over with my mother, to see if she wants to make plans with your mother." He told her before he caught sight of someone familiar in the crowd, "Oh, Than is here." He murmured, motioning a hand toward the man coming toward them.
Than was hard to miss, he was a tall and rather good looking man that had bandages wrapped around his wrists, hands, and throat at almost all times. He lifted one hand to wave at them before approaching, "Are you almost done with your shopping, Kliken? We will need to get going home soon so that I can start to prepare the evening meal for the family." He said to him before looking at the interesting girl that he'd been talking with, giving a polite bow of his head to her, "Good afternoon."
Kliken gave a bit of a pout before nodding, "Yeah, I suppose so. I was mostly browsing really." Really finding someone to talk to was far nicer then any shopping when it came down to it so he wasn't to bothered that he really didn't get anything. He looked over at Mariel, "I guess I need to get going... but we definitely have to talk again."

Mariel smiled as Tural took the treat and couldnt help thinking that the chubby dragon looked like he was ready for a nap! But of course at the mention of food he seemed to perk right back up which only made her smile a more permanent fixture on her face. Were all dragons hungry this often? She would make sure to bring food when she met her dragon to make sure it would like her. Her ears perked up as Kliken mentioned that he would ask his mother about it. "Thats a good idea, moms do always seem to plan things." She mused out loud before noticing the man that Kliken was motioning towards.
Mariel didnt have any men in the house with her mom being unmarried it was always interesting to meet a new one. Afterall she never had the oppertunity to study people unless she was out! The man had bandages and Mariel was about to ask if he was hurt but she remembered the martial arts movies she watched at home and decided that instead this man was some sort of guru! This made him infinitely more interesting to Mariel and so when he was so polite to her she smiled and blushed. "Good afternoon to you to Mr. Klikens-Than-person." Mariel couldnt decided on a moments notice how to address the man and so just decided that everything at once would be fine.
She jumped up to wish Kliken good bye "We definately need to talk again, and have dinner! I should go to, momma should be done cleaning by now. Have fun going home Kliken." She then turned to Tural, she couldnt leave without saying goodbye to the dragon! "You be good tural and I'll make you a big plate of everything I can think of when you come visit." She smiled and patted him on the head to seal the deal.

Kliken looked over at Than before he smiled up at the man, "Alright, I'm ready." He murmured, giving a smile and moved to follow after the tall man and Tural followed after the leech boy after he gave a chirp at Mariel who he had so much fun playing with. The pair looked over their shoulders a couple of times, waving at the girl before they lost sight of her among the other patrons at the mall.
The leech boy was feeling good, he always did once he was able to meet with new, kind people. He had a hard time with people since he was younger, was worried about doing wrong by them, so to be ale to have a good time and make a new friend with hope of another meeting with her in the future made him a happy young man.
