Eiry's body, much like a wilting leaf, wilted in Zul's arms, his cheek pressed against his shoulder, laid still, completely void of strength or movement. Even his breathing, framed by frosty lips, was feather soft and hard to notice. The most important thing, though, was that his face had melted back into soft features. There were no more twists and grotesque curls of skin and pinching of muscle. Just smooth features and curves.
Isi, watching as Zul came near while he wobbled and fought for balance, gave another relieved exhale of breath, his arms wrapping tight to his crutch. He smiled at the frei, his grey eyes reflecting the blue of Zul's, and he bowed his head in return. Finally, a proper introduction. Still, a little unorthodox as far as introductions went, considering that the two were formally exchanging names in the basement after conking out the older of the two raevans. It was an introduction long in coming and Isi was happy for its arrival.
"Zul," Isikoro said, smiling as the frei pronounced his name, not only full, but correctly. "It's my honor to finally meet you, healthy and all. You helped save my raevan's life. It's the least I can do to offer my soon-to-be family members something hot to drink." As he said that, he started hobbling for the basement exit, carefully winding around the debris of the basement. He and Aphi would have to come down here later and dig through all this mess. He didn't even know they had a basement, but discovering what laid within it would have to be for another time. Isi looked over his shoulder at Zul and Alex, and he smiled at them. It was an old smile, aged.
"Don't be sorry. Bad things sometimes happen to good people, and that's that," and Isi didn't say anything more. He trusted that the two were following behind him, Eiry carefully gathered up in Zul's arms.
An end had finally come to the nightmare, and Isi was determined to celebrate it with a mug of hot drink amongst the people who saved his Sigel's life, as well as his.
