Cindy giggled at that, "They're elves, and all elves are very tall. I'm not an elf though and I never grew to be very tall anyways."
She was also only at her second stage as well, but she was happy to just be tall enough to look over counter tops and such now. Besides there really wasn't that much a of difference between being a teen and an adult around here.
"Maybe for a bite to eat," Lore replied taking a seat, "But otherwise I can't stay long."

Vergil nodded wisely. "I don't think I'll grow very big either," he confided. "Because me and my brother didn't grow at all and we were together for a very very long time before he disappeared on me."
He frowned. "Damn b*****d left me all alone with no family ..." He sniffed. "But now I have a family. You're a good family, right?" He looked up at her anxiously.
Shael eyed Vergil when she heard him swear, but she turned her attention quickly back to Lore. "I understand," she nodded. She set some food onto the plate that she had gotten out foro him, and smiled at him. "Tell us how things are back at your home?" she requested. "How is everyone doing?"

That might make things a bit dangerous for him here thought Cindy as she was already thinking of how to adjust to life with now a new little boy. Though... he seemed less like a little boy.
"Yes," Cindy nodded, "I won't leave you I promise."
Lore coughed at that, he didn't know how to take it at all but decided to just leave it. He had a feeling trying to correct this child might be an up hill battle in a way.
"Everyone is doing fine, the twins are old enough to be looked after by others, which is good because Elnara is needed back at the school as a healer," Lore replied, "Yukito has taken up as head of the magic class since Kara is on maternity leave, and will be for a long while yet. Shiro, Ura, Kaito, Storm and Starr left with Lin on that sailing trip so it's been... much emptier than it's ever been. Sort of strange in a way...."
He had grown use to having a lot of children around.

Shael smiled and nodded slowly. "I understand what you mean," she murmured. "It's very strange to have Rhea gone ... even though Adonai and I were married for so many years before we had her ... it's so odd, her not being here. It helps that we keep ourselves busy, but ... in the evenings especially, we really feel her absence ..."
Vergil smiled warmly up at Cindy and hugged her arm - the only part of her that he could hug very well at all. "And I'll take good care of you, too," he promised, beaming. "I won't let anything happen to you!"

Lore nodded, "Yes, I mean, it's not as if the house is completely empty. There is and will be fortunately Garret and Hana for a long while. I guess I'm use to by now having so many children at once."
Yes, he was sure that was it, Elnara had adopted them all probably within months of each other.
Cindy giggled, he as a cute little boy. He might say things that sounded perhaps too much like what her father would say, but otherwise he was very cute.
"Are you hungry?" she motioned that they were eating lunch at the moment.

Shael smiled warmly at Lore. "And how are Hana and Garrick doing?" she asked him. "They must be getting quite big by now ... how old would they be?"
Vergil's eyes shone brightly when Cindy giggled at him. She liked him ... and that made him feel really good inside. He nodded at her question. "I don't know when is the last time I had food," he told her. "I spent a lot of time in bags ... first one bag and then another and then another and then another and another and another ... and they didn't have much food in them at all!"

Lore had to think about it, not because he couldn't remember when they were born (though with them being born in the Four Lands even that was questionable at times), but rather because of the visits it was quite important to try and keep a track of their age.
"About two and a half by now," Lore finally replied, "After all the visits that's how old they would be."
Which was funny since they didn't visit a whole lot.
Cindy nodded as she reached over to get some more food onto her plate for Vergil, "Not surprising those people were probably only visiting for a small while before going back to their home."
She had no idea how many bags Vergil had been in, but she strongly suspected that at least he had been in only bags belonging to her family.

Shael smiled and shook her head. "To you it must seem so far," she laughed, "but to us ... I mean, Rhea's close to thirty already, and she was just a newborn when Hana and Garrick were born. They must really be a handful now. Running around, getting into trouble ..." She laughed. "Rhea certainly was, and she was just one."
Vergil grinned and sat forward, watching the plate eagerly as Cindy put food onto it. "It was a long time," he told her, his stomach growling in anticipation. "And then I ended up in a library. It was really weird there." He looked up at Cindy. "Can you believe that the library didn't have any demons in it?" He shook his head incredulously. "Weird."

Lore had to agree with that, they had to make sure there was nothing the twins could grab adn put into their mouths or anything of the sort. Sitting back into his chair Lore chuckled at that.
"They're quite active," Lore agreed, "We have to make sure doors or closed and that parts where we don't want them to go are sectioned off."
Cindy smiled at that as she made sure the food was small enough for Vergil to eat with his hands. It had been a long while since anyone that small had been around. Perhaps later she would ask Elorhir if there were still any of the utensils left from when her siblings visited there.
"Well maybe there weren't any visiting yet, it is not as if there would be demons every day."

"I can imagine," Shael smiled. "I expect Elnara must have her hands full with them. You're still working, of course. And how is that going? Busy, I would imagine."
Vergil reached down and unsheathed his sword, then held it up to Cindy. "Need this?"
He always used it for eating, either for cutting, or for stabbing his food to eat off the end of it.

"Around this time of year, yes," Lore nodded, "It's time for testing among the students so a lot are coming to study or finish up research projects."
Or both for those that actually did things at the last minute.
"I'm fine," Cindy replied holding up a knife that she was using to cut the food, "I have something already. I'll have to see if there is still any forks and knives for your size later."

"Someday," Adonai put in, smiling at Lore, "you're going to have to take a few minutes and see how our library here is growing. We're actually thinking of building another wing for it. We're always expanding, and it's either that or a whole other house."
"Yes," Shael agreed. "Between Adonai and Alyse, we've got books on just about every aspect of the Borderlands. And Cindy's got her own writings up in her room, if she ever puts that in book form ..."
Vergil nodded and held his sword in both hands. "I don't need anything else," he told her. "I always use Yamato for everything." He smiled and traced one finger down the dull side of the blade. "Yamato is the only one who has not left me ..."

Lore chuckled at that, he couldn't but wonder if Cindy had come up with any new potions since she had been here. Knowing how the plant life was so different here especially in the Borderlands.
"Perhaps the next time," Lore murmured, "Though by then you'll probably have that new wing or house."
It was a bit telling that Vergil considered his sword a close friend, more so since while she had heard of naming swords this was a bit extreme. She also felt it was her job to at least teach Vergil some normalcy.
"But Yamato is a sword, it isn't proper to use a sword to eat," Cindy told him gently.

"Likely," Adonai agreed. "We were hoping to start as soon as Mum and Ada are back from the Northland, so perhaps so. We're hoping. And if Cindy still plans on staying here ..." He glanced over at the phoenix woman. "We were thinking of making a wing for her as well."
Vergil blinked up at Cindy. "Why not?" he asked innocently, honestly and truly confused. "I always do ... I always have ... I make sure it's clean ... what's wrong with it?"
It was such a tiny sword, even he knew that ... what could possibly be wrong with it? It was probably smaller than the knives that they used ... and if he had a knife proportionately his size, it wouldn't be any good for cutting anything anyways!

"That sounds ideal," Lore nodded.
Now that he thought about it Cindy was just staying here for the research now and nothing else. Though he would imagine she had nearly looked at very aspect of the Borderlands by now.
"Swords are meant to be used to defend yourself or to fight, not to be eating with," Cindy explained, "Don't worry, we'll get a knife that's more for your size so you can use it easily."
