A well crafted door opened into the upscale home in Aekea. In walked Lulu the stunning Native Gaian who looked rather frustrated but happy to be home. She had been walking, driving, and even caught a bus looking at shops for sale. She was unsuccessful in finding a place she liked or could afford. She reached her hands out to the sealing then reached her right hand out straight.

From her finger tips formed a magical and sparkly yellow being. It turned into a yellow sparkly bunny , who hopped along her floor , then lightly hopped onto a table full of mail Lulu had gathered that day but didn’t have time to look at. The magic bunny used its teeth to gather and grab the mail.

It hopped back to Lulu and with one last hop it flew itself into the air handing Lulu the mail , then burst in the air. She went through the junk mail , grants , letters , and bank statements. In the mix was a letter from a title she recognized but couldn’t place where from. Inside she saw a strange blurred polaroid. She looked at it for a few minutes and even flapped it around hoping it would show the image but nothing happened so she placed the foto on a nearby nick-nack table and placed the letter with her junk mail into the recycle bin without reading the literature .

She opened a letter about a grant she could gain , and started to read it over. She didn’t even think twice about the foto , she was way too busy to think about anything other than finding a shop so she could sell souvenirs and herbs. She had an online shop , where she packaged and shipped items but it was time to move into somewhere physical.

For now Lulu was only thinking about herself.

Lulu and Somer - "SHE's A SIGN"

Note: if you don’t like blood , don’t read this.

Little hands moved around , having deer DNA she got up from the floor rather fast , and walking moments later. Lucky for most parents they don't have to deal with walking babies. New to this world, she was a 'baby' just not the size or mental state of one. She felt something on her shoulder, it rather hurt. It was most likely her long hair rubbing on her eye. She pulled her hair and poked her eye, she let out a yelp.

The yelp echoed in the decent sized house, but no one was home. Walking around she learned rather fast, if I bend my hands and grip, I can pick things up. If I drop this it makes a load sound. If I pick up the shards of broken matter it hurts more than pulling hair.

All of this thinking was subconscious since she didn't know how to speak. She did learn she could make noise. She walked around with a cut finger , not knowing this was bad. She did know to walk away from the glass though. Her blood didn't come out fast since it was more paper cut size , though over time it was getting messy.

She kept walking to sounds. They came from outside but she couldn't open doors, lucky for her. She just moved to every corner of the house, every sound attracted her. One sound she wasn't ready for was the one her belly made. This noise happened around five hours of existence. The poor girl was alone for five plus hours with a cut finger not knowing what was going on and that sound meant she needed food.

As time passed the girl kicked into her animal instinct, she used her nose and took in big sniff , she smelt something. The purple haired cutie ran to it. The banana on the table a bit too big for her to reach called her. She jumped onto the chair falling off and scraping her shin. She got back up on the chair slower. She was learning fast. Once on the table she crawled to the bananas. She picked up the bundle and dropped it. This was by far the heaviest thing she picked up thus far. When she dropped the bananas they didn’t brake so she sniffed them still on the table.

Her mouth did something funny…….

Yucky stuff was coming out of it. It got on her skin and it was gross. She knew she didn’t like this stuff. She didn’t even try to touch it unlike the red stuff that came out of her finger. She didn’t like that stuff but at least it wasn’t all clear and just ….. yucky. Something came to her, when she placed her finger in her mouth she could taste something. She placed her nose to the cluster of banana’s, yes this is what smelled good , she sniffed her bloody finger yes this is for sure what had taste , she then bit into the banana real hard. Bitter and sweet flavors came into her mouth, she didn’t spit it out she ended up eating the one banana she sniffed peal and all. She sniffed some more, she could tell the plant part of the banana cluster was not for whatever she just did. She kept eating the bananas till she was full. Once she was full she closed her eyes and fell asleep on the table.

“Ohh my Gosh mom , that lady you told me about was crazy but she did have some nice product , she makes these blankets that are soooo warm from some hybrid sheep” the plus sized diva was talking to her Mom on the phone. This was a normal tradition on her car rides. She did some ‘buying’ for her online shop. She goes around meeting people who make or sell items. She then buys those items and sells them online. Much like a retail store, she calls the unfound talents.

Yellow painted finger nails tapped the side of her door “Yea Mom , ok I’m going into a no cell phone zone , soooo….. yes Mom I will make sure to call Miss. Zelder , yes I know she is going through a hard…. Yes , yes, yes….” She listened to her Mom talk some more before saying “OK Mom got to go .. no cell phone zone in like two mins , love yea” she hung up and turned off her blue tooth.

After she hung up she only had twenty more minutes of driving before she was home in Aekea. Once in her own drive way she saw a small safety light flashing in her garage. She huffed “IF ONE MORE BIRD GETS IN MY HOUSE I’m GOING TO GET A BIRD KILLER” she screamed , opening up her door really fast bursting into house like a raging mad women.

She summoned her energy; it turned into a fast moving yellow sloth. It was rather funny seeing a sloth move so fast, though Lulu didn’t look at it. She was ready to kill whatever pest got into her house. Last night it was a bird, and last week it was a cat. She spared their lives but ever was in the house now, was going to get her wrath.

In a mad lady rage the woman was making a mess looking for whatever was in her house. She was making such a mess she wouldn’t have noticed the mess the little girl made other then the fact that she smashed a bowel that carried small shells. She was following a trail of blood and she was ready to find whatever it was bleeding in a corner some place. She had it all pictured in her head. She was not ready for what she was about to witness sleeping on her table.

At first she stood speechless, some homeless girl in a rather nice dress was sleeping on her table, or maybe this was a trick and some robber was in the house ready to kill her. Her energy was now in defense mode circling around Lulu. The girl looked familiar in some way , like a person from a story book, Lulu was now thinking about random stories from childhood , and not worried about being killed.

“ THE GOD OF GIFTS” she screamed, she didn’t look like a story book character she looked like a GOD! The purple hair, the odd eye , the skin color …. Sooooo maybe she didn’t have all traits …. SHE WAS GIVEN A SIGN! The women jumped for joy sending her yellow sloth to wake her up.

Once the girl opened her eyes, she felt the warm embrace of the energy. She felt calm and safe so she didn’t freak out. The energy was doing its job. Lulu tried talking to the girl but it didn’t work , she didn’t understand. “Well I need to fix your finger , sooo it doesn’t get infected” she had her energy get the first aid kit. The girl seemed to handle pain well. Lulu had her sleep in her bed that night. She was going to sleep in the guest room, but the girl seemed to like her around. Lulu wasn’t use to this warm feeling. She sucked it up like a champ. The plus sized business owner couldn’t wait to call her mom in the morning.

Lulu and the newly named thuck Somer started there journey together.

Through 2010 Somer spent most of her time working with her mother getting her shop together. They also moved upstairs of the shop. Business got really good by the end of summer so Lulu was able to hire one employee her name is Rahab. With the help of Rahab she was really able to branch out her business. Next door Lulu's good friend Andy moved in. She is a designer who specializes in making cosplays and was experimenting making clothes for beast like beings. By fall Somer started to model for Andie's child clothing line. Somer's purple hair and unique features mused Andy.

Somer spent a lot of her time on the night family farm, where she made the majority of her friends. She really got along well with a boy named Zeeker. She made friends with a girl name Ro-Honda but she didn't like to go on adventures and was much more into style then Somer. Lulu and Somer spent Thanksgiving and Christmas on the "Night Family Farm". Somer even enjoyed her first birthday on the farm.

Her birthday party was exciting full of balloons and special pumpkin spice cake, her favorite. She was given plenty of gifts from the Night Family. Zeeker Dad Farmer Ben Red helped buy a special pendent for her. Ben didn't know what to get a girl , but he did know girls like jewelry. Zeeker picked it out, it was two little wings. They reminded him of her. Somer loved it and wears it when she goes out with her Mother.

So 2010 could be summed up simply: Business,friends, and Enjoying life.

The purple hair girl traveled the fields of 'The Night Family Farm'. One might worry that Somer being so young in the wide open spaces could be dangerous. She felt at home with all the fruit trees and the tall on untamed grass. She would every now and then run into someone she knew but often she was by herself. That's the way she liked it, fresh clean and able to hear her own thoughts without hearing others voices.

She was sitting next to a wild peach tree, she sank her little teeth into the peach and the juices flowed from its puncture wholes. She looked up at a mother bird feeding her little blue chickadees. She smiled at them "Hello blue bird mummy , hello babies , hello tree who gives them a home, hello poor worm who feeds them" she crinkled her face at that last part. It was her mother who taught her to thank even the not so pleasant part of life. The blue bird mother looked at her and chirped. Somer's ears perked up and she turned her head. The bird looked to understand her but that couldn’t be right could it?

She picked herself up and walked over to a different tree looking out to the dark forest. She was told this place was full of wield creatures and she could never go there. She hardly looked at the woods before, she was always distracted by the scenic environment but now she looked into the woods. It didn't look scary nor did it seem to be any more dangerous than the sunny meadow she was in. Before she could turn around she could hear a small cry from the woods. She looked in and saw a little girl she never seen before being dragged in by a scary looking lady.

She started to to run over and scream help hoping someone would hear her. "A GIRL IS GOING INTO THE WOODS!" She kept running towards the woods. She could still hear the faint cry of whoever was being brought in. Her little legs felt week she could hardly run anymore. She was at the edge of the woods she looked back to see if anyone had heard her. She saw no one, but when she looked back into the woods she saw some cloth that must have been the girls. She had to save that girl. As she made her last few steps from the meadow to the woods, the bluebird from the tree tried to stop her. She flapped her wings around and chirped. Somer did not take this as a sign and walked into the woods.

It was too late now. The bird found herself flying towards the farm. Sadly Somer was now in the woods of wild beast with no humanity or values. The piece of cloth Somer saw was now flouting into the woods. Somer suddenly felt strong and begun to chase the cloth no longer thinking about what she was doing.

As Somer chased a cloth the bird reached Lulu's workshop. She couldn’t get into the building and no matter how many times she flapped her wings and chirped the person that smelt like Somer would not look at her. Lulu was too busy and wouldn't notice the bird even if she spelt 'SOMER NEEDS HELP' in twigs. The bird had no time for that, Somer's life was in danger and the mother needed to find someone who would understand her. It was then she turned her attention to the building across the street.

She could hear noises from the back of building, meaning people where there. She flew over to the building and chirped as loud as she could. One of the men who were originally from the woods could smell a little of the stench of the dark place on the bird. Since no one from the woods can leave or do well intentionally he knew the bird was good. He looked "Who went into the woods" the man with one long horn on his arm asked in a eleven language. The bird couldn’t understand it and chirped flying back towards the field.

Seth found himself running at great speeds even beating the bird. He could smell scents in the field. Somer's and one of the Night children. As Somer's scent got stronger going towards the woods he knew it was her. He thrust himself into the woods once there his mind raced and he became the beast he once was. It didn't take long before he found Somer in a cage made of strong twigs unconscious. The hag who captured her was making some type of item from the girl's hair. The hag cut off her pony tail. There was a blade inside a fire she had started. Somer's clothes had been cut off and where now burning in the fire.

"WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM ME EVLEN BEAST?" She shouted in a tone so chilling it would make even the bravest gaian's hair stand. Seth knew not to talk to the hag he quickly came at her. She picked up her sword and tried to battle him. She was nothing for him and without much of a fight her body and her head were separated. Seth looked at the trees in the woods "Who hear can hear my voice" he asked in chilling whisper. The tree from where Somer's cage was hanging moved. He was lucky; he might make it out of these woods without much battle. Seth looked at the tree "Do you know what the hag wanted from her" he asked. The tree uprooted seven roots; six leaves fell from the tree. The roots then went into the six leaves.

Seth looked at leaves two brown leaves , two rust colored leaves , one red leaf , and the last leaf looked deformed it only had one stem but it started to branch out into two different leaves. Two roots went through this leaf. Seth quickly realized that Somer was not the hags goal she wanted the other kid in the woods. “Can I have the child” he asked and tree branch broke off. It was close to the ground and Seth was able to catch the cage and branch. He opened the cage carried the nude child on his shoulder. He bowed and thanked the tree for his help, he went back into his primal state and ran through the woods and made it out. Somer stayed in a coma like state for awhile. Seth took a deep breath in trying to smell if anyone else was in the meadow. He couldn’t tell and he needed to get the farm. So he ran with the purple hair girl as fast as he could but keeping her safety in mind. On the way to the farm he could smell the eldest of the female Night children; she had made it back to the farm. Once on the farm Seth seek out the medics on the farm. Both Somer and Seth needed to be tested to make sure they had not been affected by the woods. The medics were in the trailer doing test with someone they where training. Nuesca the female medic knew something bad went on and quickly attended to them. All she needed to hear was “We were in the woods” and she got Somer into a cold shower. Raul her husband rushed Seth over to a hose and quickly had Seth take his clothing off and had him shower. Other than a few nosey beings on the farm no one was around to see. Nuesca had the trainee help her wash particles of mist dust out of Somer’s remaining hair. They had the washed water collecting in a bag.

They needed to make sure any curse put on Somer was off set. They placed the sleeping girl on a bed , they covered her with one of Nuseca’s scrubs. Seth told them about the bird and how he was able to save Somer. Though he had an outside shower there was lest chances of the cursed partials being on him. He did have dried blood of the hag on his horn that they washed in the medic shower. After burning Seth clothing and anything washed off from the shower all they could do is wait and see if Somer would wake up.

It took time for Somer’s light red eyes to open. She looked around “What Happened to me” she asked. Doctor Raul explained to her what went on from what they knew. Somer only remembered seeing the girl go into the woods but she had no memory of what happened after. The student who was helping them went to get Gabriel Night , and Lulu. Once they all gathered and everyone knew what had happened Gabriel had a chat with Somer. He explained to her the misleading of the woods and how it tricks people. She never saw girl go into the woods she only saw what the hag conjured up from Somer’s imagination. Lulu banded her from going back into the meadow; she could only go back when Lulu felt she was truly reasonable. Everyone felt this was a good idea.

The winged bunny girl begged her mother to let her go back and find the blue bird who helped her. Lulu agreed but wanted Seth to go with them and he did. Once they found the blue bird sitting in the peach tree Somer started to cry. Seth and Lulu wondered what was making her do so. Somer saw the bluebird only feeding three birds. When she last saw the mother she had six babies. As the bird left her clutch, a predator crow found the nest and seized three of the chicks. Somer fell under the tree and cried “I am so sorry”, the mother bird looked down and almost nodded her head. Somer was then lead out of the meadow.

Somer learned her lesson, though she would never find out what happened to the chicks or how she was kid napped, she felt the magnitude of not listening or remembering what she was told about the woods. She is so grateful to the blue bird, Seth, the medics and Gabriel Night. She wrote her mother a sorry note. Later that week Lulu’s work partner cut Somers hair into a bob. Somer liked the look but it was also a reminder to listen.
