He and Azra both recoiled briefly in alarm and then his eyes narrowed in frustration. He had not planned to get involve, he would have preferred to let Panther deal with what came so that he could get stronger on his own. Unfortunately, the sheer amount of Ghost pokemon were more than he thought even his Azra could handle alone. Ambergris certainly was dangerous at night, but he somehow suspected this was just the beginning. He turned to Azra and snarled out an order.
"Azra, Perish Song! Grunt, you're going to have to hold out, but try to catch that Haunter!"
Azra lept forward and let out a low and ominous howl. He wasn't much of a singer, especially since there wasn't exactly a mate here for him to court, but it was his version of the attack. That gave them just a few precious seconds to get everything situated before all the ghosts and their pokemon went down for the count.

Panther's eyes widdened in suprise, and he was very glad to have someone else with him. Even the name grunt did not phase him. He knew this was not good, his ming counted 4, 5, far to many gastly and a haunter. He did manage to hear the sinor rocket's words, the haunter was his target. This was the time to prove himself. His hand snagged the second ball on his belt, even though it wasn't a strong type, a second pokemon would even the odds. "Swift Wing! Whirlwind away some of those gastly, Shade, give haunter a good lick." even in the heat of battle the slight pun was not lost on Panther.

"Haaaaunt!" The Haunter again bellowed in displeasure as it was licked, then watched as some of its Gastly minions were tossed about by the whirlwind. The balls of gas wailing as they were sent flying and disappeared in their flight. Not only that... a Perish Song was now brought into play thanks to the Absol. Well... two could play at that game. The Haunter leveled a glare on its opponent... then withdrew a pointy stake out of nowhere... before plunging it into itself. "HAUNT!" A curse was then placed on the Gastly. A couple of the other Gastlys still left followed their leader's example and also stabbed themselves with stakes. Putting curses on the Pidgeot and the Absol as well!

Panther winced. he knew what that ment. It ment the pokemon he had were going to go down very quickly. He has little time, so he had to make every move count. "Swift wing! Give me some more room, wirl wind some of the other gastly back. Shade, use night shade on haunter."
Swift Wing now had the time to get it's bearings. He nodded and carfully wirl winded the gastly back, making sure his master was safe. It was an odd job, but certainly somone had to do it. Who knew what kind of trouble panther would get into without him around to save him.
Gastly grinned at his master comand and repeated the night shade at the bigger ghost pokemon.

Curse, a move he was all too familiar with, it had forced him to retire from his first mission earlier than he would have liked and now, much to his amusement, it was only a brief set-back. He recalled Azra to his Pokeball, which in the end would remove the effects of the curse. It was now time for Boggart to play.
"Boggart, Boggart, come out and play, Boggart, Boggart make them pay."
It was sad that he said it, but he had learned rather quickly that this particular pokemon was picky and loved the Rhyme. It was also a very oddly colored Gastly. However, when he tossed the Pokeball and released the pokemon, he was rather surprised to see and hear:
"Haaaaaaaaunt Haunt Haaaaaaaunter!!"
His Boggart had evolved and he hadn't been aware of it? Quaint, and overly convenient, considering the circumstances. His Haunter turned its glowing green eyes toward the Gastly's and it grinned.
"Boggart, Shadow Punch!"

The Haunter barely seemed phased by the Night Shade attack, and instead seemed to have the same attack on mind that the other Haunter was performing. Despite more of its Gastly minions getting blown away, the Haunter pulled back an arm and threw a Shadow Punch at Panther's Gastly. The Gastly that was targeted by the pumpkin Haunter, wailed in agony under the harsh blow and quickly disappeared as it fainted.

Shade reeled back from the punch dazzed for a moment. The hit came as a suprise to the gastly and it wirled into Panther's arms clearly weak from the double loose of HP. Panther frowned to himself, the haunter was far to strong for his pokemon.
It looked like swift wing was holding up well though. There was one attack that perhaps it would work in this situation. He had to be careful though the ghosts seem to evopoate when knocked out.
"Return Shade. Swift Wing! Use Theif on haunter." The gastly obedently returned into the ball and panther pulled out a poke'ball ready to try and capture the strong haunter weither the Pidgeot's attack worked on the hunter or not.

Boggart continued to focus on the Gastlys, lashing out with Shadow Punches as commanded by Claris. Claris did turn his attention to one of the Gastlys himself however, and he withdrew a Pokeball, pulling back his arm as he launched the ball, side armed at the opposing Pokemon.
"May not need you, but more Pokemon for Team Rocket usually means a higher recommendation letter for later... You ok over there?"
His attention did not leave his battle, but he still wanted to know how Panther was holding up.

The dark move made the cackling Haunter cringe a bit, and its eyes then began to glow red as its anger was roused. "HAAAUNT!" it screamed, pulling back one of its dismembered arms and aiming a Sucker Punch at Panther's Pidgeot. Unfortunately for Claris though, the Shadow Punches were taking out the much weaker Gastlys in one hit, causing them to fade into gas and disappear completely. Thus his Pokeball didn't find a Pokemon to catch when it was tossed. But more still kept coming, tongues waggling.

Swift wing took it head on and flapped backward shaking it's head. It chirped in irritation and flew at it again. "Theift again." Panther called to him, his hand tightening around the ball.
Swiftwing flew at the haunter again, using the move.
"I'm not exactly ok, but Swiftwing is tough. But was that song really nessisary?"

While he may not have caught something with that ball, his attention turned to the Haunter, he knew Boggart could handle himself for now, he had a decent arsenal of attacks that he could unleash on the Gastly Horde. His hand clutched around a Pokeball, as the Haunter had been taking a beating for awhile.
"It was a reaction to a situation, and I told you to catch the Haunter! You're out of time!" He knew the Perish song was just about up...
With that he pulled back his arm and chucked the ball at the Haunter, hoping to accomplish what Panther was seemingly ignoring. They were here to train, yes, but they were also here to further the goals of Team Rocket. More Pokemon, meant more in the arsenal for the up and comings.
