Starlite had never heard truer words spoken then the ones that came from Swiftwind just then and she shared this thought with him "Truer words have never been spoken" she stated firmly with a slight bob of her head. Of course in typical Swiftwind fashion he had to go and turn what might have been a serious moment into a humorous one. But that as normal - that was the way it had always been with them and the way she assumed it would always be.

"Luck had absolutely nothing to do with it" She told the stallion in a smug voice "Clearly you were attracted to my wonderful looks and superior personality" she concluded.

The bright fruit on the tree began to wiggle and shake as the foal inside moved, wishing to be free of the confines. The small foal wriggled around trying to break free but it was hard work, and then all of a sudden there was a big thud as the fruit dislodged from the tree and hit the ground. Oh that kinda hurt but perhaps that was all part of the process. Now the foal worked harder to get free and slowly a crack formed in the fruit. Focusing all it's energy towards that crack.

Soon the crack grew and with one final push the little colt spilled out of the fruit onto the ground. It was so bright here and somewhat cold. He shivered slightly and he took his first look around at his new world. His eyes were a bit unfocused right now but he could make out some colors and various objects around him.

Swiftwind smiled at Starlite. Yes, truer words had never been spoken. "No luck huh?" He said half jokingly. "Well yes I suppose your beauty and personality did help...a bit." A smirk crossing his maw.

Just as he was about to continue on in his little joking way he noticed one of the fruits wiggling and then fell from the tree. His smile grew and he looked at Starlite and then back to the fruit. He took a step closer but didn't really want to get too close and crowd the poor little thing. Slowly but surely the fruit cracked open to reveal a small colt.

Swiftwind couldn't be happier than at this very moment. He took a closer look at his very colorful son. Oh and he had a horn. He bent his head down closer to the foal. "Hello little one." He said softly. His eyes moved to Stralite for only a moment before moving back to the foal but there was no mistaking the happy look on his face.

He took a step closer and nuzzled the foal softly. He had a horned son. His eyes moved to the other two fruit. Surely they would hatch soon. That's how it worked right. He wondered if they two would have horns, he hoped so. But even if they didn't he would love them all the same.

Starlite had been in the process of responding to Swiftwinds funny little remarks when the stallion was sudden;y drawn away from her, following his gaze she too noticed the wiggling fruit - giving a little gasp of fright when it fell from the tree - But that had to be natural right? Starlite wasn't sure and she shifted her feet nervously...but Swiftwind didn't seem to terribly concerned and of course the foal couldn't be born still in the tree now could it?

It seemed her fears were indeed unneeded because with a bit more work the fruit cracked open and an equally bright colt spilled forth to greet the world Starlite pricked her ears and took the few paces forward so that she could inspect him closer, lowering her head to nudge him "He has your horn!" She remarked to Swiftwind with a soft smile pulling her head back slightly as said horn nearly took her eye out while the still unsteady colt tried to get accustomed to the world around him. With all her focus on the hatched colt she didn't notice the second fruit wiggling about in a fury until it too hit the ground with a thud, the noise somewhat startling her she she looked at the violently shaking fruit. "Another? already...it's all happening so fast!" Starlite exclaimed, she wasn't upset about this fact...quite the contrary but it was somewhat shocking to the system.

She was tired of being in the confines of the fruit, it was getting cramped and uncomfortable and it was unmistakable that the time had come to get out. Barely had this thought crossed the filly's mind before she was stretching and thrashing her limbs about within the fruit until its wild swinging caused it to fall with a thump to the ground.

Well that was certainly different she could tell..but she was still trapped within the fruit and so after only a few moments pause the thrashing continued until a splice of light shone in as the fruit cracked and she kicked her way free to lay upon the ground where she immediately lifted her head and snorted.

Starlite watched as the second fruit rolled about the ground in a frenzy, ear's flicking nervously at the violent trembling until at long last a paler colored filly emerged. "Well she's certainly spunky" The mare commented with a chuckle as she went over to look the filly over, nuzzling her softly.

The last fruit wiggled softly. It was definitely uncomfortable, and a little stifling. A little wiggle again and, plop, the fruit dislodged itself from the tree and smacked into the ground. Upon impact, the foal inside began to kick, causing the fruit to roll backwards and forwards in a rocking motion. Having a rather tough time of it, the stuck foal paused for a few moments, before kicking away again.

Finally, the fruit split. However the foal didn't notice the little split and went to bash at the confines again. The little foal flung himself right against the split and, tumbling out, somehow ending up on his back, head still inside the fruit. He kicked and flailed, managing to roll back onto his belly. Scooting back to try and free himself, finally, his head appeared, blinking at the sudden change in light, shaking his head as his eyes adjusted.

Swiftwind felt as overwhelmed as Starlite did. It was happening fast, not that he really expected this to go on for several days but no sooner had the first fruit hatched that the second one began to wiggle and fall from the tree. He watched the foal come out of the fruit in a sudden burst. He took a step closer to her to take a look. The filly was somewhat of a pastel pallet of colors, and she certainly did have an attitude about her by her sudden snort that followed her arrival. Glancing back at the first foal for a moment, then returning his gaze to the filly Swiftwind stepped closer and gave her a nuzzle. "Hello little one." She was perfect. Although she didn't have a horn, that was somewhat disappointing, but he did his best to hide that from Starlite.

A nearby thud got his attention and he looked over to see the third fruit now on the ground. He watched the third foals attempt to hatch and couldn't help but chuckle. He left the side of his daughter to welcome his new son. Nuzzling his white and rainbow son he looked at Starlite. "They are all perfect." He said with a smile across his maw. Although there was a small part of him that was disappointed that only one had a horn.

The first born colt watched his two larger Nequus with curious eyes. He knew them already some how even though this was the first time he laid eyes on him. His eyes followed them as they moved to the next little foal that hatched, leaving him where he had fallen out of his fruit. Not wanting to be left behind he tried to get to his feet but his legs were still quite wobbly so he only managed falling over.

He lifted his head and gave out a small whinny. Trying to untangle his legs he thrashed a bit, watching another foal come out of another fruit. He wasn't sure what to make of all of this, but what he did know was that he wanted some more attention from the big ones.

Starlite also couldn't help but give a little chuckle as the third foal - a colt she corrected herself, made its way into the world in a rather unconventional manner. Glancing at the three foals, two colts, one filly Starlite took stock of them all - so different..and yet unmistakably related to one another. Only one had Swiftwinds horn she noted..but that hardly mattered to her she was merely happy that they were all here at last!

"Two colts and one filly!" She stated in a breathy tone going over to nudge the second colt and last born foal for a moment before turning to gaze at the firstborn who clearly wanted more attention. The filly on the other hand didn't seem to give a wit about being alone and was busy gazing up in the trees upper branches. "I suppose we'll most definitely have to give them names now"

The white and rainbow colt shook his head again before tilting it to the side. His ears flicked as he listened to the two large ones. Well he guessed they were important, since they seemed to be paying so much attention to him and the other two. He blinked, looking at them. They were a lot more colorful. The little colt huffed and, his little tail flicking, he pushed himself up. Well...He managed to get his rear legs up, so he was stuck with his rear end in the air. He stared at the ground, a bit at a loss what to do. He let out a tiny whinny before his legs gave and his bottom fell down.

Ow, ok, not a good idea. He looked at the other smaller ones and tried again, managing to get up onto his feet this time. He stood there, legs shaking, and lifting his head, grinning. He wasn't sure if he could move...but hay, he was up at least! That counted for something!

Swiftwind didn't think his smile could get any bigger until he watched his youngest son struggle to his feet. It happened so fast. Sure the little guy was a bit wobbly but that was to be expected. His attention moved back to Starlite as she spoke. "Yes they will need names now."

He looked at his first son, the one with the horn. "He reminds me of a rainbow that one gets when light hits a prismatic gem. We shall name him Prism." Then he turned to his daughter, his beautiful daughter. "Glimmer." He said, not really having an explaination for it. "She shall be Glimmer."

Finally he turned to his youngest son as he stood somewhat shaky on his legs. "We he certainly has a splash of color on him." He commented, the little foal was a good mix of both parents having their white hide and colorful mane and tails. "He shall be known as Splash." His eyes turned to Starlite, in a way looking for her approval of the names although he was sure she would think they were good names.

The small foal watched as the two larger ones discussed something. Then he heard the word Prism as it was stated while the one with the pointy thing on its face looked at him. He liked the sound of that. So that would be his name. Prism.

He whinnied happily at his name. He watched his brother get to his feet and well not wanting to be outdone he did his best to get up. His poor little body thrashed a bit as he finally untangled his legs from his previous attempt and with one big thrust me was up on his hooves. The shock that it had happened so quickly made him almost lose his balance.

Starlite tipped her head slightly as Swiftwind ran through the names, bobbing her head a bit as each one was stated..they were following his families tradition in naming so it seemed right that he should pick them, each one seemed to fit the foal he placed it with and so when he turned to her for her approval she bumped him lightly with her muzzle. "Those are excellent names!" She told him happily before turning her attention back to the colts - who seemed to be in some sort of competition over who would be the first to walk. "Typical males" she told Swiftwind with a slight chuckle.

The little filly seemed to agree with her mothers assessment fore she looked at her wobbly brothers and issued a snort. Glimmer the large one had called her and the little filly thought it sounded like a fine title. Struck with the urge to stand as her brothers were she carefully rearranged hers and with a bit of scrambling managed to find her footing, wobbling a bit he none te less raised her head proudly.

The wobbly colt listened to the large ones. Splash? That was his name? Hmm, well it sounded fine by him! He stomped a little hoof in approval before seeing his brother get up as well. A tiny snort, and Splash decided that he wasn't going to let him have the last say in this standing business. He took a shaky step forward. Then another...then... He stumbled and stopped, huffing. This was harder then it looked. He watched his sister get up as well and let out a light whinny to her as encouragement, before glancing at his brother again.

He turned his head up, looking at his parents, seeking some sort of encouragement. Or maybe they knew something he didn't. Walking didn't look that hard, but it sure seemed hard to him. Was he doing it wrong? He wondered.

Prism watched his brother intently but then his eyes moved to his sister, dang now she was getting up too. He watched in horror as his younger brother took the first few hesitant steps. No, no he had to do better than that. He took a deep breath and without really thinking began to run, or close to run, towards the big ones.

Being quite unstable on his legs still he nearly tripped and fell but by some miracle he managed to keep to his hooves until he ran into his mothers side. He looked at her with a twinkle in his eye. "P-p-prism!" He managed to stutter out.

Swiftwind couldn't help but chuckle at the antics of his children. They were all competing against each other to be the first and best already. This could prove to be interesting once they were older. He turned his attention to Splash who was clearly looking for some sort of approval to his actions. "That's it my boy. You can do it." He said with his head bend down a bit.

Then to his surprise he heard a tiny voice. His head spun around to see Prism now standing up against his mother. My how did he manage that? "Did you hear that?" He said to Starlite. "He spoke!" Not wanting to ignore their daughter he turned to her. "Good girl Glimmer!" He said with a smile on his maw.

"Umph!" Starlite let out as Prism practically rammed into her side, using her, she suspected, more as a way to stop his stumbling run then anything else. Despite this she couldn't help but give him a proud look as he sputtered out his first word. "thats right sweetheart" she told him as she bent her head down to nuzzle him "Thats your name"

Raising her head again she looked out at the other foals "Come on Splash" she encouraged the colt "you can do it" she nickered to him, ear's pricked as she waited to see if he would respond.

Glimmer merely flicked her tail as her father told her she was a good girl, most of her attention seemed to be on her brothers though the look on her face was an annoyed one. She wasn't exactly sure why they kept running and stumbling about or why her parents seemed to think this was such a great thing to do..but she certainly wasn't going to do it and issued another snort before shaking her head. She'd move when she felt like it...and not a moment sooner thank you very much.

Splash huffed at his brother's actions. Trying to show him up, was he? Well he didn't think so! He straitened up and lifted his head high. Well if his brother was gonna run around then he'd... fly or something! His tiny wings spread out and he tensed before jumping into the air... and falling back down. He didn't manage to catch himself and his legs buckled, sending him to the ground once more. He looked down, glaring at the ground with frustration. It was the grounds fault, he decided. It was tripping him, or something. Yeah that's it. He snorted

After watching Splash attempt to outdo his brother by jumping or was it flying Swiftwind went over to the foal. Nudging him softly to help him get back to his feet. "You can't fly just yet." He told his youngest son. "But soon you will be able to soar among the clouds whenever you wish." It was cute how these two, although so young, had such a competitive spirit already. It reminded Swiftwind of how he was with his own brothers when they were younger.

He turned his attention to his daughter. She didn't seem to care about competing with her brother and he was glad for that. Last thing he needed was three foals trying to outdo each other at every turn. "She will be interesting when she grows older." He said to Starlite.

Prism watched as his brother did something he hadn't yet, but then after seeing the end result of it chose not to try that. Plus his father did say they couldn't fly yet, and if he said they couldn't than it had to be true. After all his last attempt to outdo his brother had almost ended in disaster had his mother not been there to stop his out of control stumbling. For now he stood there, semi leaning against his mother half staring at his brother. He wasn't staring out of anger, but more trying to read what his next move would be and try to beat him to that.

Starlite was pleasantly surprised by how quickly the young foals seemed to be learning how to use thier legs and move around - it did not surprise her howeverthat htey all seemed to have such strong persoalities already, they were her and Swiftwind's children, how could they expect anything else? Strong personalities ran in the genes. "they're learning so quickly!" Starlite stated with a glance to Swiftwind. "At this rate we will be able to leave the tree soon and show them the rest of their new world"

That was certainly an interesting and exciting prospect the mare thought to herself, why just think of the things they could show their foals - the rivers and the mountains and the trees and the flowers...oh and one mustn't forget the wildlife! "What do you think we should show them first?"

Glimmer had stood still for quite some time while her brothers tumbled and staggered about. In that time the little filly thought she had managed to gain her balance enough to try taking a few steps. Unlike her brothers she didn't bother trying to get either of her parents attention while she did so..she merely raised her head up proudly and took her first step, picking her hoof up and placing it carefully on the ground again. Ah well that wasn't so very hard she told herself and repeated the process with the rest of her hooves until she'd managed to move forward a few feet.
