Dare I tell you how hard it is to force yourself to write when you have a new child to entertain you ? Or frighten you, as is sometimes the case ? But I'm sure that's easy enough to understand.
Anataela is currently well settled into her crib, and is sleeping. I can hear her snoring from the baby monitor. Little did I know that a half reptile child could snore - but she can. You learn something new everyday.
Speaking of learning. Ana's been working very hard on her alphabet. She really loves the colouring sheets that Miss Kat's been giving out and seems to be taking more and more time on each one. Her first one was ... interesting, to say the least. She coloured it with giant blocky crayons, and was rather heedless of what colour things were meant to be.
I had a little talk with her, and asked her if she's like to learn what colour each picture was meant to actually be. The very thought delighted her. I'm sure that I'll be in for quite a few field trips. I'm dreading her actually getting around to colouring the letter 'D', it's for dragon. I think I'm going to resort to pictures.
Other than that, Ana seems very interested in art in general. I'm working on getting her to draw a picture of everyone she's met thus far. I'm hoping to collage them into a little book, that she can update as she gets older. Like a scrap book, but with drawings. I hope I remember to actually encourage her to do this.
Oh ! She seems to be starting to wake up, so I'd best go and tend to her.

Ana and I have been exploring our world full tilt. I've discovered something very nice about my daughter - she's quite the artist.
She has such a deep passion for colours, and she loves to express it. I'm shocked at the quality of her recent work sheets. Now she insists on colouring the pictures the colours they are meant to be. She is also very diligent about staying inside the lines.
Furthermore, she loves to draw on her own. I can usually easily tell exactly what her drawings are meant to be. I'm so proud of her.
Today I'm working on planning an art related playdate for her. I think it'll do her some good.

A child is expected to know certain things at certain ages. In order to obtain rights to their Dragon(egg), they must prove they can meet these requirements. The following sheet is for your child to fill out, with mild help from their guardian, then sent back to D-corp. (PM ot the mule) Also any changes, even minor such as haircuts, should be reported to the D-corp to be logged and filed. Thankyou, The Boss.

Dearest diary,
Mommy says writing in diaries is very important, but she usually doesn't, so I wonder how important it really is. Mommy says it'll let me remember stuff when I'm older and start to forget things really easy. Mommy doesn't forget things really easy. Or else she wouldn't have remembered how last night she told me I wasn't allowed any dessert because I had some cookie before dinner. But today was a super pretty nice day. And, and, and last night I had a dream about my dragon. I hope she's going to be pink. And a she. Mommy says that I'll get the dragon that was meant for me, whatever that means.
I've been thinking lots about my dragon. That's a good thing. It's going to be wierd having a big old dragon around. And it's going to be just for me. Mommy says a dragon is more of a friend than a pet.
I asked for a pony yesterday but Mommy said that dragons and ponies don't get along very well. I told her that to play princesses you need a pony though. So she made me a stick pony. Her name is Snowbell. She has a pink mane and a white coat and is the most beautiful pony ever.
Mommy says that she's arranging a playdate for me, so maybe I can play ponies with someone else ! I've really liked everyone I've met so far, and want to meet lots and lots more people. And I want to learn more aobut my dragon. And have a tea party. But now it's kind of late and Mommy says it's time for me to turn off my light and go to sleep and stop writing. So good night diary ! I'll write again in you soon.

Anataela vs. the Needle
It's one of those things that every parent dreads - their child's first vaccinations. Poor Ana needed a staggering seven of them. So, we had our appointment today.
I've been telling her for the last couple of days about what was going to happen, and how it woulnd't be that bad. I knew that she was scared, but I hoped she wouldn't completely freak out at Hennet, which she didn't, thankfully.
She was shockingly well behaved. She didn't even cry whle she was getting her shots. She saved that for at home. I guess the shock wore off by then, and the fear of what happened took over.
It took me a little while to calm her down and to assure her that she wouldn't be going in for shots for another good while yet, and that it certainly wasn't going to happen tomorrow. The icecream certainly helped to calm her down.
Overall I'm very, very proud of her. It really proved to me that she is capable of handling herself in frightening situations. She's the perfect little lady.
