Ehh, that wouldn't really work. The way I see it is that the future would own everyone else. With laser cannons and magic, they would win. The past could have the most powerful magic, since you could say that the magic of the future weakened from disuse thanks to the ability to just use machines instead, but you have to think...why did they stop using magic? Because the machines must have been better. As such, the future would still annihilate everyone else. You could say that the past has absurdly powerful spells that were forgotten in time and had to be compensated for by inferior technology. Okay, now Past annihilates everyone. Or you could balance the two. Now why would anyone want to play Present? See, I just don't see how it would work very well, to be honest.
However, I do agree that we should make a future fantasy roleplay. I just wanted to gage interest in it before I spent the multiple hours it takes me to create a satisfactory roleplay that would die in seven pages.

I'm just looking for an RP with interesting characters. Even if it's a great setting, foul and cliche characters will ruin it. And people who don't ramble on and on. I mean, there's literate and then there's just plain verbose. A second by second record of the character's emotional state is not needed.
I'll roll with any ideas of the above posts. 3nodding

yes and its a big one at that. I thought mainly new people did that but then I saw even the oldest role play person do that kinda of stuff.

Future roleplays definetly catch my interest if done right. There are sooo many ways to completely screw over any kind of rp. Futuristic/blood and gore stuff.. There is no such thing as a perfect future xp Other than that I'm ok to go with some of the rp ideas above.

Okay, I just read through the posts and I just got back from watching Narnia...
So what if there was a race of creatures that gathered all the others and moved them to another dimension portal thing with only one connection to the real world (they also took almost all magic with them). When some of the other races stumble out of it and find it in... a museum, mansion, I'm thinking a big place... They tell others and eventually many start to come through the portal but are unsure what to make of 'humans' when they see them and therefore try to stay out of sight.
Good, bad, adjustments?
I was thinking a museum or mansion because if it was focused in the future the portal would be a very ancient artifact (that of course can not be easily destroyed) so either a museum for historical purposes or a mansion because you'd have to be pretty rich to get it.

Hmm...
Anyone ever play Arcanum? How about that, if you want to balance magic and technology.
It's another mix setting; basically, it's like a Victorian era culture, meshing steampunk technology with the older magic.

Hi Abyss, hi Blade! whee I'm all for futuristic. Medieval is good. Magic is good too! It's so hard to choose!! gonk I agree with Terminal; there are a lot of ways to mess up a RP that could've been well done. I say let's stick with futuristic though, because I'm sure everyone has a creative imagination and can think up of some kind of weapon or some other cool ability (if we are using weapons). To summarize the babble you see above: Futuristic and Magic are fine with me! 4laugh

Meh; I like Fantasy-Modern it balances the Yin with the Yang you know? Futuristic with Fantasy really wouldn't work out that well in my opinion and I would know stressed The amount of Futuristic RP's that just blatently make no sense or go to far beyong any reasonable bounds is what makes it so hard to do.
I mean think about it okay?
Logically you did a Futuristic RP set in about 3000 A.D. or so and other Alien races were included one could argue that their race is a certain distance above another in technology and such. This would cause a huge influx of over powered characters and conflicting stories due to different peoples take on the Future.
Here is how I see it stick with Medievil or Modern.
Medievil is all about Sorcery, Hand to Hand and Missle so you can't really push it to far there.
While Modern-Fantasy usually has a good balance of both Technology since we are all familiar of where we are technoligically wise in this day and age and most familiar with Fantasy due to reading. I mean if you haven't read a Fantasy book at one point or another why are you even here?

Yeah... not to sound annoying or anything but... I know it was a kinda large post for this kind of place but I thought it had a good plot in it... Really I'd like to know what people think about it... Yeah...

Abyss, your RP seems like it could be pretty good, but for some reason, the neurons aren't firing; I've got nothing for it as of now.
Oh, I was also wondering what people think of Dune.
I think it's an awesome setting/story, but again, I don't know if it would do so well in RP form...
You know, I always think about various ideas that seem good to me, but I always have a hard time getting them more concrete. Oh well, I'll come up with something evenutally.
