"I know how that can be." Ebony laughed, thinking of her mother. While Dartie wasn't overprotective, she could be odd like that at times.
"Sure, hon." the girl assured him, leading Fitz back over to his dad. "You're welcome. It was really nice meeting you." she told the green child, hugging the boy back and smiling.

"It was nice meeting you too, Ebony!" Fitzroy replied enthusiastically. Giving her waist one more big squeeze, he wobbled awkwardly off to his daddy. He plopped onto a chair, stuffed a fistful of cheese fries into his mouth, and began struggling to get the skates off.
While he was preoccupied, Caspian approached Ebony with a slightly contrite smile on his face. "Thanks for helping Fitzroy, miss Ebony. And, uh, sorry for, ah, being rude at first." He fidgeted, obviously embarrassed. "Sometimes I can be a little... brusque."
That said, he walked back over to Fitzroy, helping his son get the skates off and then leading him by the hand. The Gluttony boy wiggled his freed toes happily as he walked away, turning to wave at the purple girl. "Bye-bye, Ebony! See you soon!"
