Hearing Chronos call out struck a chord in Fallon, but it was a hollow one, a distant whisper of a long ago past. It brought up a memory that she could not place with the lovely face of this beautiful stranger. Didn't they see that she could do nothing to stop herself? Better to kill these two strangers than Andeon, or Yvette, or Pierrette. Fallon could make a hard decision; Fallon could be focused. Screaming would not dissuade her action. If she didn't eat, she would go insane, and here they were -- two unknown faces to quiet the hunger that roared like a hurricane in her empty gut. The answer was obvious: kill them all.

The kick from Virgo hit Fallon squarely in the chest, and she stumbled backward. The momentum shouldn't be wasted, and so Fallon let herself fall, sweeping out one long leg at Virgo's feet. If she could trip her, if she could force herself on top of her, then she could win. Virgo was a barrier standing between her and the object of her desire, a desire that the youma transformation had warped into a carnal bloodlust. Fallon sang this to herself like a mantra. Take one out. Take one out. Take one out. If only to lay a single cold hand on a warm throat, to feel the pulse of blood beating below the skin... Fallon felt she could find rest then, if only for a moment.

Couldn't they feel her hunger? Couldn't they sense her desperation? Couldn't they see that there was no other way out for her? Her eyes were emotionless save the burning hunger, but her brows were furrowed together, perplexed, maybe even resistant. It did not stop her limbs from swinging for an attack. The human in Fallon had retreated, and the youma saw no reason for words. It wanted blood -- rivers of it. Rivers of it to cascade across the floor and drown the whole forsaken school and everyone in it. The God that Fallon struggled with in her humanity could not find her now.

No one could.

Of course Virgo went down; her grip on Chronos slipped, which was good because it meant the Princess could still escape. It was bad because she couldn't drag herself back up. Instead, she paused to catch her breath and rolled away from Chronos, and tried to kick out again at Fallon. She'd only just become human again, she didn't want to become a zombie already!

It didn't seem like there was anything she could do to stop it. She couldn't throw a tiara at someone!

Deep breath. Ignore the scent of decay. Grab for the wrist around her throat, try and pull it off. Kick out again. C'mon Virgo! You can do it!

Chronos was horrified; Fallon was a monster. A monster that was trying to hurt them and then eat them. It had never occurred to her how serious it was; the two boys they saw had been controlled so she hadn't been so bothered by their desire to kill them. She didn't run away; she couldn't run away when Virgo was still there. She just couldn't.

Once again, Chronos lifted her staff and whacked it towards Fallon's head. Hard. She hoped it had worked as well as it had on that mousy haired boy back there.

When Virgo fell to the floor, Fallon scrambled forward, pushing herself off the ground in a runner's stance. The senshi was quick, and her thrown kick knocked Fallon in the chest, forcing her backward. Fallon snarled, but her new position took the wind out of the sails of Chronos staff swing. It clipped the side of Fallon's hand, but the pain was minimal -- more of a knock than a heavy blow.

Painted nails dug into the creases of the floor, nose wrinkling into a sneer. Her sheet of hair spilled over hunched shoulders, but it did not hang for long. She was moving quickly, muscles reacting with a crack of bone and limbs tensing with each twitch. "NO!" she screamed, her fleeting battle cry. Was it an objection to the fighting? Or to losing the upper hand? Fallon had no intention of losing, of being denied the blood that swam so sweetly just below the skin.

Again, she lunged, rebounding from the attack like a fox, diving and darting as fast as her bare feet could carry her. Fallon could have gone after Virgo, but her gut screamed for Chronos. On all fours, she pounced from the ground, reaching for the staff with her hands and swinging her legs to wrap around the Princess and drag her to the floor.

The second Fallon was no longer near her, Virgo rolled over and took a deep breath before pushing herself back to her feet. "Princess, look out," she cried, reaching out to grab at youma-Fallon.

What ended up happening instead was this: Virgo shouted "Virgo Immaculate Reflection," and the green glow around her vanished to brighten the light around Chronos. No effect was immediately visible, and the blunette senshi herself looked a little bit puzzled at this.

Then she remembered that the Princess was in danger and reached out to grab for Fallon once more.

"Fallon, stop it!" Chronos yelled, panicked. Her eyes were focused on Virgo; she too thought that Fallon would go for the bluenette rather than herself. So it was entirely unexpected when something wrapped around her and she went down, head hitting the floor.

Surprisingly, it didn't hurt one bit (was it this whole senshi thing?) and Chronos decided that she couldn't hold back anymore and reached for her tiara. "Equinox Tiara Magic!" With this, she flung it directly at Fallon and immediately looked away, eyes squeezed shut. She really didn't want to hurt anyone, but they had to survive. She and Virgo still had to find all the others so they could escape and call for help!

Fallon did not regard Virgo's words, or her attack. She was single-minded, her eyes pinched in to tight slits. The image of blood spurting out of Chronos's soft throat whipped through her head over and over like a record on repeat. Princess. The word registered, but it was meaningless. Fallon only understood her drive to rip the princess open and pick out all the best, juiciest parts.

Falling to the floor with Chronos, Fallon felt her head buck forward from the impact, mouth pitching straight to the other girl's shoulder. Without flinching, the youma snapped her jaws open with a hiss, clamping down on the senshi's shoulder and giving her head a twist. She waited for the rush of blood, for the steady pulse to fill her stomach until she didn't feel the hunger screaming so loudly for her.

It didn't come.

In a quick flash, Fallon sat straight up, staring blankly at Chronos's flawless shoulder. Why did she smell blood? Why did she feel her teeth sink into flesh? It was bad timing on the youma's part. As she sat up, Chronos let the tiara fly, and there was no way Fallon could avoid the full impact. It caught her in the chest, and several ribs shattered like glass. Being undead had one benefit -- that wouldn't kill her. On the downside, she felt the painful sting as if she were still living. "s**t," she hissed, but the words were choked. The impact sent her sprawling backwards off of Chronos's prone form, sliding all the way to the other side of the hallway.

The girl was dazed, but the moment she got to her feet, her nose pricked at the smell of something delicious. "Stop RESISTING me!" she shouted, the words garbled by her infuriated screaming. Ignoring her ribs, Fallon leaped at Virgo, but the pain in her chest made her buck halfway through, spiraling toward the senshi's feet instead. Fallon would grab, scratch, and rip whatever her hands landed on.

She could only destroy. She had to destroy.

The first clue that her 'attack' had done something was when Virgo suddenly felt a sharp pain in the back of her head, followed by disorientation. That wasn't so bad; the princess seemed to be handling herself, and Virgo needed a minute for her brain to catch up to the rest of her body. Also, she found it an acceptable price to have a headache for no good reason when Chronos had taken a fall like that and was still straight-headed enough to throw her tiara at Fallon.

Now if only they could run!

She started to feel a little bit less sanguine about the whole thing when she distinctly felt a set of sharp monster teeth sink into her shoulder. With a shrill scream, Virgo clutched at her shoulder; something warm and slick greeted her hand and without preamble, she threw up and stepped backwards, head reeling. She couldn't quite concentrate, but she had to hold on to two things: Consciousness and whatever the hell she was doing that was keeping her Princess from getting hurt.

This kept her upright long enough that Fallon could tackle her; still gripping her injured shoulder, Virgo went down with another distressed cry. If the youma didn't move, Virgo would land right on top of her.

Chronos almost expected the scream to come from herself as she was the one getting bitten, but then realized that no pain had jolted through her. It had come from Virgo instead and Chronos looked up, seemingly dazed, glad that the tiara attack had worked and scrambled up to get to where Virgo was. The tiara materialized on her forehead again and staff at the ready, she kept her eyes on Fallon.

This time however, Fallon did not head for her, but for Virgo instead and when she turned to gape in horror, she also noticed blood coming from Virgo's shoulder. Blood. Oh god, Virgo was hurt. Chronos didn't have time to speculate about their senshi powers and all that, she instead lifted her staff and whacked Fallon's head as hard as she could. "Virgo!"

The scream made Fallon's heart race. It pounded against her rib cage like it was trying to break free. Of course, this only served to make her chest hurt quite a bit more, given the force with which she was hit by the tiara. No time to think about it. A dark sneer crossed Fallon's otherwise indifferent features, half out of blood lust and half out of chest pain. Her previous agility appeared to be a thing of the past, not so long as she had the thrumming ache in her chest from Chronos's attack.

But blood was in the air. (And vomit too, which was much less appealing.) Fallon had to keep going.

Falling toward Virgo, Fallon latched one hand on her wrist, mouth lunging toward her shoulder. The girl's weakened state allowed Fallon easy access. She more or less caught Virgo, one hand gripping her arm, the other wrapping around her waist. It was as if they were dancing in the middle of the darkened hallway. Darting her chin forward, Fallon lapped at the bloodied wound, tongue tracing pale pink smears. With a hiss, she parted her lips to take a bite, to feel the flesh sliding down her throat, to quiet the roaring hunger that banged its angry fists against the inside of her stomach.

(Food for thought: do senshi taste different than humans?
Fallon shall experiment.)

Her teeth were mere centimeters away when Chronos struck. The pain was sharp and hot, and Fallon heard a small crack underneath the thud of the staff. The movement pushed her face right into Virgo's neck, but with far too much force for Fallon to take advantage of it -- or to see straight. Her nose connected with collarbone, forehead pushing against the soft flesh of Virgo's neck. She made a sound like groaning and crumpled. Her grip on Virgo's wrist held at first, but as she fell, her hand slipped free and Fallon landed face-down on the floor, legs curled to one side of her body.

For a moment, she laid very still. The hit by the staff had been just as painful as the tiara. The two of them together threatened to knock Fallon out entirely. She felt darkness calling at the corners of her eyes, but she fought not to give in. No, this wasn't over. Virgo was still bleeding; Fallon could smell it and taste the lingering droplets on her lips. No, this was not over. She tried to move, but her body did not cooperate. Lifting her hands, she tried to push herself up, but her arms gave way and she fell again. On hands and knees, Fallon tried to crawl. She needed to find a way to keep attacking. She had to win, she had to eat. Didn't they understand that? Couldn't they see it in her eyes?

It was pathetic to watch, clearly futile. Fallon struggled to move, not resting for a moment. All the while blood trailed from the back of her head -- from the spot where Chronos had nearly cracked her skull wide open. If she was human, it would have knocked her out for sure, perhaps even killed her. As a zombie, it made her sleepy and sluggish, like someone had sucked all the adrenaline out of her veins. Fallon fought to keep striking out at them, like a snake that had been cut in half, both ends still flailing in defense.

She shuddered, still whimpering with terror, when Fallon licked her skin; it only served to aggravate the pain. Virgo struggled, but with one arm held and her back pressed against Fallon, she really had no room to maneuver. A sensible person would have, at this point, made use of their enhanced strength and stomped on the zombie's foot. Unfortunately, she was still dizzy from the blow to the head Chronos should have suffered, and too terrified from the combination of blood, darkness, and something trying to consume her flesh to think of it.

Luckily for Virgo, the zodiac princess wasn't so crippled. That didn't stop the bluenette senshi from screaming in unadulterated terror when Fallon's face slammed into her neck. The second the zombie let go, Virgo darted away to stand next to Chronos. Her own green glow returned then, sliding smoothly from Princess to sailor senshi. Virgo put her hand on her shoulder, covering the wound again.

"Princess, do let's go," she said, "I don't think I can do that again."

Even as Chronos was determined to make Fallon stop hurting Virgo (oh god, oh god, Virgo was bleeding, Fallon wanted to eat her), she drew back in horror as she realized that she had hit the zombie pretty hard. Chronos didn't know where the strength had came from; she was what many including herself would consider a weak little girl. But seeing how she had managed to beat off a Captain (Who was that Nealite anyway? Why was she doing this?) and now, two zombies (Not that she actually bothered to keep count), Chronos was starting to seriously question her abilities as a senshi. She was still uncannily new to this, and the only other senshi on campus did not have any experience either.

Chronos trembled, cerise eyes fixated on Fallon's body until Virgo spoke and snapped her out of her reverie. "I'm sorry." She whispered softly, looking as though she was about to cry. She shuddered, blinking back tears as she turned to give Virgo a watery smile and a nod. "I don't think I can do that again either." Grasping Virgo's hand, they ran.

Again.

The whack from Chronos's staff smarted with each movement. Even furrowing her eyebrows brought sharp daggers of pain. Despite it, Fallon struggled, dragging herself forward by her fingernails. Her legs slid along the ground behind her like dead weight. She seemed entirely out of sorts, unable to control the muscles of her body. No. Hunger screamed in Fallon twice as loud as the pain in her head. It commanded her to get up -- no matter what -- and rip the pretty flesh from their bones. She pushed up from the floor, arms shaking, leveling a heated gaze on Chronos. The girl was... crying? It was an emotion that Fallon could not process, not then.

When the two girls turned to run, Fallon dragged her tongue over the inside of her mouth, summoning the strength to form words. "Don't go..." Fallon murmured, the words sluggish. It sounded as though she had swallowed cement, and the hardness slowly began to set, freezing her throat.

Chronos and Virgo were already gone.

With one last tremor, Fallon collapsed to the floor, blood seeping into the dark auburn of her hair. She slipped into darkness. When she awoke some time later, Fallon felt the hunger worse than ever, though the immediate pain of the attacks were gone.

She got to her feet and headed to the infirmary.
