"There has to be a cure," Giselle interjected too quickly. "Failure is not an option."
She fidgeted, as if the statement was beginning to bother her. "Failure is not an option." she repeated, like repeating it would make it more true. "And if something caused it, something must undo it. Whoever's running this experiment was able to bring us back from the dead to this state. There must be a way to refine this state to the one we were in when we were alive, but I'm no expert at that. That's a scientist's job."
She drew her mouth into a thin, hard line. "We have to part ways, no matter what happens. You focus on the 'how', and I am going to find out the 'why', even if it kills me. Again. I refuse to die like a plastic man in a baking powder volcano model at some science fair." She moved to leave, and at Tara's comment, she looked back.
"I hope not. The living and dead are already fighting. We may be one of the last hopes this school has left." With that, she turned on her heel and quit the scene.
