Seeing Miss Mindy's pause before she went into action was as assuring as the newcomer's shivering was alarming. Her mistress had obviously received her message, as expected. That Speaking Without Sound: The Art of Telepathy Through Eye Contact DVD set Emily had ordered was constantly proving to be one of her most cunning purchases yet. A psychotic break may indeed be imminent, but the blonde would not be taking either girl by surprise.
The set of Emily's mouth began to relax as Miss Mindy produced the Contract OF SOULS and handed it to her. Even more reassuring was the smile that accompanied it. Her mistress most assuredly had the situation firmly in hand. Taking this opportunity to slide in-between Miss Mindy and their visitor, Emily gave the girl a slightly softer look than previously.
"If you'll please give this a scan and then sign at the bottom, Miss?" Emily asked calmly, handing the contract over. "You'll find that Miss Mindy is indeed a most benevolent and fair-minded individual." I, however, will deal with you most harshly if you should get in her way, she continued via telepathic eye contact. Ninjas or no ninjas.

The unspoken conversation that passed between the two of them went completely unnoticed by Khalla. Had she been a little more in her right mind, she might have been flustered by the fact that she actually couldn't get a feel for either of their moods - they were simply stone cold as far as Khalla was concerned. Khalla typically prided herself on being able to read others and understand their feelings, but she too nervous from both the 'curse' and the simple threats these two seemed to spill at every turn without the slightest provocation.
What she did notice were the odd things Mindy began to pull out of her drawer. Were those voodoo dolls? A shrunken head? If she hadn't been terrified of being left in a room that apparently harbored secret witchcraft, she would have passed out right then. When Mindy turned back around, she was half expecting her to be holding some kind of animal's foot. To see a simple sheet of paper sent a shiver of relief down her spine and loosened tensed muscles she had been previously unaware of.
"Alright," was all she said, her brows knitting as she took the paper offered to her by Emily. To her, the text was cramped and illegible. How was she supposed to gather anything from this? She supposed, however, that she should simply take Mindy's work for it. It was to break the curse, wasn't it? "Could I get a pen please?" She wasn't about to just rifle through their things and find one for herself, that was for sure. For starters, that was rude. On top of that, she was scared to death of what she'd find.
She was watching Emily pleasantly as she said this, completely unaware of the telepathic message supposedly being sent to her, when she heard Mindy again. "Oh, I found it outside, near the entrance." She shrugged slightly as she spoke, then looked back down at the contract in an attempt to make out anything on it. Was this even in English?
