Merrills subtle look was not lost on Chiv and she had to hold in a small chuckle - poor Merrill, Pekko's harassment of the purple beta had not gone unnoticed and Chiv might have stepped in already had she not been confident of Merrill's ability to handle it herself, she was the Beta for a reason after all and if Pekko showed up one day nursing a few bruises Chiv wouldn't have many question as to here they came from. Poor Corvus just had the bad luck to resemble the unruly Pekko.
"Good plan Merrill" Chiv replied with a warm look though she couldn't help but tack on another comment to tease the mountain wolf "I'm sure they'll all enjoy a bit of time with their favorite Aunt" She concluded ith a brief wag of her tail before looking to Corvus. "If your ready we can make the rounds and I'll show you the den Merrill mentioned, if Edgars been around well..we'll find another" She assured him - Corvus didn't know Edgar yet, but he would eventually and then he'd appreciate that sentiment.Nobody wanted to sleep to close to the Rat wolf..though Chiv didn't much mind him.
Derecho looked momentarily disappointed as his mother plainly disregarded his offer, sure he was just a pup..but he was willing and ready to take some responsibility around the pack as far as he was concerned and how hard could if be to sho a new wolf around? Derecho had followed the others around enough to know the pack lands.
His disappointment was quickly banished however when Merrill offered to watch over them - this wasn't something that happened often, she was generally far to busy seeing to other pack duties to play babysitter - not that he still needed a babysitter - but regardless he would be able to pick her brain a little bit and he beamed up at her with his tail wagging.

Corvus couldn't thank the stars enough that the little pup wouldn't be accompanying them on the tour. Not that he didn't like the little guy, it was just that him and pups never seemed to get along well together. He turned to Merrill for a moment. "Thank you again for taking me to the pack." He said with a small bow of his head. He hoped it would make a good impression on the Alpha if he acted nicely.
Then he turned to Chiv and nodded slightly. "Yes I am ready." Although he wasn't really sure why they would look for a different den if this Edgar fellow had been near that one. Oh well, he thought, just another question to ask while on the tour.

"Alright then, no daylight to waste these days. Come, you," she told Derecho with a slight nudge of her paw. "Auntie Meme's curious to see where your little nose will end up taking us. Down trecherous snow banks, across freezing rivers, into a bear's den? Spirits forbid." The so-called bundles of joy would probably have her tired out by midafternoon if they tried hard enough. "Until later then, Si, Corvus. If I see Edgar, I'll let him know to bathe more often and not to linger too much near the northern dens. I think his scent is growing more tolerable . . ." Or maybe that was the snow hindering it. Who knew? She wondered if anyone would be able to liven up Ratrace, or why he bothered sticking around; not even setting him to a job seemed to work. The beta stood and bowed her head to the alpha before trotting off with Derecho to wherever their paws took them.

Chiv watched with a smile in her eyes as Merrill lead Derecho back towards the dens and his siblings - she was pretty sure the beta might rethink her offer to pupsit after an afternoon with the little monsters but she was willing to take advantage of the offered situation and a free afternoon.
"Well its not often I get free time anymore" she told the green male cheerfully "shall we?" she asked him, motioning with her muzzle toward the dens Merrill had mentioned before starting off down the trail "So where are you from Corvus?" She asked him as they went.

"Yes, you must take advantage of free time when you can." He told the Alpha as they watched Merrill and the pup wander off. He had nothing against the pup per say it's just pups in general, well he didn't want to think about that. "Lead the way." He stated as he loped after her. The area was beautiful, he thought to himself as he moved along. Had he not ran into Merrill he might have still considered making this his home, she was more of a bonus than anything.
"Well, I'm from a pack land far away from here. Almost on the opposite side of from where yours lies." He couldn't remember the exact location at this moment, it had after all been a long time since he left them. "So, how many puppies do you and your mate have?" He asked Chiv remembering that she had ealier mentioned something about the other pups siblings. Hopefully it was a small little.

Chiv trotted easily through the pack lands, it was clear she knew the land inside out and backwards - as any alpha worth her salt did and she stopped now and again to point out areas of interest or relate a funny pack story to the green male as they came to mind.
She merely nodded as he spoke of his home pack far away - she was curious about why he had left, but decided he would tell her if he wanted too, when he wanted too. Chivosi had never been much of a pushy or nosy wolf and it was pretty easy for her to just let such things go, turning her attention to his questions about her pups instead. "There are four of them, Derecho - whom you met, Aleu, Raiden and Tempest..of all of them only Derecho might be prone to bother you, Aleu might try to sing to you but she's the best behaved of the bunch"

"Four is a good size." He replied to the Alpha. And he had to agree with himself. It could have been a large litter and well he just wasn't sure if he could handle that. He put the name Derecho in his mind for later reference. The pup did see a bit bothersome but hopefully he could keep his distance. What the Alpha said next he found quite interesting.
"One of your pups sings?" He asked, making sure he had heard her right. "I don't think I have ran into a singing wolf in....a long time. Is she good?" He was certain that Chiv would say her daughter was a good singer even if she wasn't. After all what mother didn't want to praise their children even when they weren't around.

Chiv chuckled slightly "Yes it is, not sure what I would have done with more..four is more then enough to keep me busy" she remarked in a wry tone as they slowed so she could show him the open dens. His question about Aleu made her nod her head slightly "Yes...Aleu, Aleutain Ballad is actually her full name..kid sings about everything from rocks to sunsets" The Alpha remarked with a laugh "She's pretty good at it too...wants to grow up and find more singing wolves I think, I'm sure you'll hear her for yourself at some point..she'll probably make up a song about how your coat shines like emeralds or something"

Corvus slowed his pace as well, casting his gaze in the direction of the dens. It was a nice area as far as he could tell. A good place to make a home, even if it did end up temporary, although he couldn't think of any reason to leave this place. So far those he had met seemed friendly enough, even if that one pup did seem like he could be a nuisance.
His gaze returned to the Alpha as she spoke. "Aleutian Ballad, that's a pretty name." He remarked. It did seem to have a nice ring to it. "I shall look forward to her songs."

Chiv chuckled slightly "Don't let her hear you say that, she'll never stop singing for you then" The little pup seemed to think it was her duty to sing to anyone who even remotely appreciated her songs. Still Chiv decided she could have a worse habit, and mot of her songs weren't bad - when she got older Chiv could even see the pack fully enjoying them, a nice song on a full moon night when they were all lazing around had a nice ring to it.
Turning her attention back to the present and the green wolf in her company Chiv cast her gaze on him "Did you have any questions about the pack at all? Anything else I can do to help you gt settled in?" She asked him.

He shook his head as he looked at the Alpha. "No particular questions about the pack come to mind at this time. Just let me know when I must do hunting or patrols and I will see to it."
His eyes moved to the dens for a moment and then back to Chiv. "Once again I thank you for letting me stay here." He inclined his head a bit. Yes this was a good place to call home. And who could complain with having friendly wolves around.
