Name of weapon: Chilling Touch

Who owns the weapon: Konaga Sai

Where it was found/Who made it: The blade was forged by a weaponsmith known as Kiyoku who resides on the western borders of the Wave Country. It had been commissioned to him from Konaga Sai in exchange for his life:

Towards the end of his years in the Kirigakure, Sai was already under careful observation by the previous Mizukage and his superiors for a series of strange occurrences in several missions he had been a part of. In his last few missions, members of his team would come back severely injured, several parts of their bodies covered with burns, though they would never speak of what specifically caused them. This, in conjunction with his stand-offish and cold attitude towards the events, and even his injured comrades left the counsel wary of him and his involvement in missions.

During this time, the Kirigakure was weak, and Sai was one of their most capable operatives within the village, despite the strange situations surrounding him. The counsel had deemed however that because of this, he would be restricted to only deep range assassination missions (which were his specialty) and assigned two operatives with him at all times. Sai was compliant with the counsel, but he never said a word left or right to their accusations, always blaming the incidents on his incompetent teammates, while remarking that they should be grateful that he was a part of the missions, as he was the only reason they returned alive at all.

Sai saw most, if not all of the people in the village around him as vermin, unworthy of his help or his loyalty, and the counsel knew this, but they also both knew that the village's need would protect him. Shortly after this decree, Sai was sent on an errand to assassinate a weaponsmith on the borders of the wave country who had been supplying their enemies with strange and powerful weapons to be used against them. It took Sai and his team two weeks to find the weaponsmith's hideout, and upon finding him, they had to fight through a series of guards before they were able to reach Kiyoku.

Sai was about to deal the killing blow to him, when Kiyoku held up his arm and made Sai an offer, seeing the anger within him and deciding to try to bribe him to save his own life ..."Spare my life, and I will make you a weapon of your own, one that will fulfill your wishes for the world." With his comrades, growing suspicious that Sai had not followed through with the killing blow, Sai dropped his sword and disappeared, utilizing his Chakra shift ability to move beyond the speed of their eyes, appearing behind them with a blade of chakra in his hand slashing them from behind and killing them both. Sai then walked forward towards Kiyoku as the man slithered backwards up against the wall fearing for his life. Transferring chakra to his fingertips, Sai used his Chakra overload technique, driving his hand into Kiyoku's chest to make him feel the pain that a Konaga clan member felt every day of their life and picked him up with one hand, putting him at eye level as he stared at the man who was writhing in pain...

"Forge me a blade that will show the world what I have felt every moment of my life every time they are sliced with it's edge. This world is a cold and merciless place, and I will make everyone see it for what it really is... a world filled with pain." Without another word, Sai dropped Kiyoku and began to walk out of the cave, bending down only for a few seconds to dispose of his comrade's bodies with his Body Vanish technique, covering his tracks and removing the necessary items to make it seem like it was a failed assassination. As he reached the edge of the cave, he looked back at Kiyoku as his Chakra Overload technique was finally coming to an end..."I will return in two weeks, if it is not completed, you will die."

The Range of the weapon: Short, 0-1m (The reach of Sai's arm + the blade's edge, which is 6.5 inches.)

Description: The blade is 10.5 inches long, with a 4 inch hilt, and a 6.5inch blade (see picture above). though the blade looks small and weak, it is exceptionally well tempered and can hold up against even the strongest attacks, though it is not often used in this manner. Forged specifically to suit Sai's wishes, the blade was made to represent Sai's icy cold outlook on the world, and was fashioned to instill fear, as it would look to be incredibly painful to be cut by it's strangely jagged edge. Anything the blade cuts immediately feels a bitter cold on the skin which is extremely uncomfortable. Also, where blood would normally seep from the wound, the cut is immediately frosted over with a thin layer of ice, halting it's bleeding. This effect however is only temporary as with each passing second, crystals of ice work into the bloodstream causing a blockage in the area, as the wound becomes increasingly cold and painful.

After about 15 seconds of increasing pain, the wound finally bursts open, spraying blood everywhere as the backup of the bloodstream forces it's way past the thin ice layer an a manner which is both extremely painful, but an incredible release to the victim as well. The ice then melts and the crystals dissolve harmlessly into the bloodstream. All in all, the wound which was created was no worse for wear then a normal slash would be, except for a slightly more violent and jagged wound that the blade creates with it's edge... though the victim was subjected to about 5 times as much pain that a slash from a normal weapon would have caused. The larger the wound caused by the blade, the more the blade amplifies that pain, making it an incredibly cruel weapon to use against someone, though Sai has never shown any remorse in it's use.

Weakness: The blade itself cannot be held for long. Holding the hilt is akin to touching liquid nitrogen, and it sends a sharp burning pain through the user's hand. As a Konaga Clan member, Sai already has a dulled sense of touch, and a high tolerance for pain, yet he can only hold the blade for about a minute before he has to return it to it's hilt. Sai can only do this three times a day, and for no longer then 3 posts at a time, or his hand would most likely become frostbitten.

"Take heart my boy, the Kirigakure has refused our mission request, but we will avenge your brother's death ourselves." A middle aged man stood over the bluff of a small path which led from the Wave Country to the Fire Country, gripping his katana tight as he leaned on it and spoke to his youngest son. Placing his hand on the boy's shoulder, as the child gripped a sheathed kodachi of his own, clasping it to his chest while shaking violently, the father tried to explain what he was about to do... "There are people in this world my boy, who do not live as decent folks like the rest of us. Those ninja in the Kirigakure are one thing, but there are others who live by no standards, who hate for the sole purpose of hating. They are the enemies of peace. Your brother went off to become a ninja int hat village and keep his country safe, but he was killed by one of his own comrades. They tell a different story, but I saw this man's eyes, and I know he did it. It's up to us now son, we will avenge your brother and protect our land from the likes of people like him."

The child swallowed a huge lump in his throat as he listened to his father. He had never steered him wrong and was well respected in the village as a former 'champion of the blade' as they were called. They were not ninja, but the local militia had protected their lands for generations. he was scared, but he trusted his father. "Quickly my boy, hide here, behind this rock, he is coming." The young boy snapped out of his stupor and obeyed his father immediately as he ducked behind a rock to conceal himself as his father hid behind a large rock overlooking the path about 7 feet below.

Sai was walking along the path, his face emotionless as he kept his hands in his pockets and was making his way slowly out of the wave country to leave the wretched Kirigakure behind. A new kage was rising up and the village was regaining it's power. After his last mission where his teammates had all died except him, and their bodies destroyed, the counsel had finally set him into exile from the village, never to return. No attempt was made on his life by the Hunter-nin, as they feared losing more of their operatives to Sai's blade. The man up above had closed his eyes now, his breathing controlled, and his grip on his blade strong. He moved silently, ready to pounce, waiting for Sai to walk by. Looking at his son, he nodded to the boy as he waited till Sai was below him before rushing out from behind the boulder, drawing his katana and jumped off the bluff, his blade pointing downward towards Sai's head as he screamed out "FOR THE WAVE COUNTRY!"

After hearing the rocks move from above, Sai calmly removed his hands from his pockets, forming a few seals as the man leaped upon him, finishing the last one right before the blade struck. Sai's body splashed away at the blade's edge, turning to water as the sword slashed through it, leaving nothing but a puddle behind. the air was silent for a few seconds before the man's head jerked upwards to the cliff as he heard his son cry out to him..."Father...Help!" Scrambling up the edge of the cliff, the man arrived at the top to the terrifying scene of seeing his son, still holding his sheathed kodachi to his chest, but now with a blade pressed to his throat as Sai stood behind him. The blade was small, and the edges jagged, it's pommel looking like a shard of broken crystal, and as the light bounced off it, it seemed to give off a dark blue glint as a fine white mist of cold seemed to be trailing off of the hilt.

"This boy looks familiar, and as a matter of fact, so do you. Don't tell me we've met before." the father's eyes burned with anger as he heard Sai speak, gripping his sword tightly as he moved into a stance of attack and stared at Sai..."Release him fiend, your fight is with me. You will pay for the death of my son." The man charged with blood crazed eyes towards sigh, lifting his weapon to the sky as if it would give him some kind fo divine fury behind his strike. Without so much of a flinch at the maneuver, Sai removed his blade from the boy's neck, pushing him aside to the ground as he watched the father's blade come down at him, moving around it with ease, ducking down onto the balls of his feet as he spun around twice, ending up behind the man as his blade slashed the back of his thigh, causing the man to fall to the ground and drop his sword.

Sai turned slightly to look down at the man as he held the back of his thigh, surprised that no blood was flowing, and confused at the shooting cold pain he felt. Getting up through the pain of the cold, the man grabbed his sword again, his face showing the anguish as each second caused the wound to ache more, feeling the ice in his wound grow as crystals clumped together to stop the flow of blood, but his determination drove him forward..."You knew my son, he was your comrade, and you killed him! He was innocent damnit! You had no right!" The pain had now heightened, making it feel like Sai's cut had gashed him deep to his bone, but the man charged forward anyway, before the wound suddenly burst forth with blood, a surge of pain rushing through his body as the blockage of blood exploded from the wound all at once, causing him to fall to his knees again.

His heart rate had now exploded, as his anger was getting to him, the rush of adrenaline flowing through his veins. He was no match for Sai and he knew it, but rage clouded his judgment as he rose to his feet and charged back at Sai, his katana raised as he screamed one final time, as he swung his blade downward. Sai saw through the man's attack easily and stepped aside, raising his blade up to the man's throat and slashing it across the middle as the man fell to the ground, clutching his throat, the bitter cold, frozen wound, and the growing pain choking him from being able to speak another word. "If you thought you knew what the pain of losing your son was like, compare it to knowing that you've now lost another son, when you could have only lost one. Think about that before passing to whatever there is next for you, and you'll realize what kind of pain this world can truly grant you." The young boy looked on in horror, not really sure what was going on before finally seeing an explosion of blood come out of his father's neck as he fell to the ground motionless.

The boy would have screamed and ran to his father that instant, but he soon felt Sai's hand grip him and lift him up. Staring into the man's eyes, all he could see were bright speckles of glowing light in his iris as he was left speechless in fear. "Live with this pain for the rest of your life, and you will understand the true reality of this world as I do." Sai had lied to the father... he would not kill his other son. He did however relish the thought of the agony it would put the man through amidst the pain the blade supplied him, making his death the cruelest and most painful it possibly could have been. Dropping the boy to his feet, Sai left, keeping his hands in his pocket, leaving the boy frozen with fear as he watched Sai disappear down the bluff and leave the Wave Country, having nothing else to accomplish there.

Name of weapon: Shadow Blade (The Assassin's Edge)

Who owns the weapon: Konaga Sai

Where it was found/Who made it: After his exile from Kirigakure, Sai wandered for some time through the Wave Country and the outskirts of it's territory. At one point, Sai was targeted by an assassin who had been hired by a local villager who had a son in another country, who had been killed by Sai on a mission. during the assassin's battle, Sai found that the ninja was continually fading in and out of the shadows, his strikes appearing from odd angles, and seemingly out of thin air until he realized what was going on.

Playing on the assassin's hit and run tactics, Sai took a hit purposefully, allowing the ninja to incapacitate his leg as he knelt down and played as if he could take no more. As the assassin came in for the final blow through his chest, Sai shifted his body at the last second, allowing the blade to instead penetrate his shoulder as he activated his bloodline ability and sealed the man's chakra abilities and sent him into a fit of pain with his Chakra overload technique. With the assassin incapacitated by pain, Sai was easily able to finish him off...removing the ninja's own blade from his arm and turning it around to stab him in the heart. The weapon's origin is still unknown, but there are markings on the blade's hilt that appear only on when exposed to the moonlight that give a clue to the blade's origin, though it is in a strange language he cannot read.

The Range of the weapon: Short, 0-1m (The reach of Sai's arm + the blade's edge, which about 17 inches.)

Description: The blade is about 2 ft long in total, with a 7 inch hilt, and a 17 inch blade (see picture above). depending on how the light hits the blade, it is either black as night, or a semi-translucent, almost crystal like color. the hilt it intricately carved with runes and symbols, but they can only be seen when held up to moonlight. though the blade's semi-translucent appeal can at times make the blade seem weak and fragile, it has been well tempered, and has held it's own against many much larger weapons, while still maintaining it's edge.

Although the blade seems ordinary by most means at first, after examining the blade and training with it for many hours, Sai has begun to unlock it's secrets and has developed a style with the blade that is unique to it's abilities and Sai had learned it is capable of.

Weakness: The blade's one weakness is that it loses all of it's special properties and abilities if there are no shadows in the vicinity it is being used, and it cannot use it's own shadow, or Sai's shadow as a source for it's granted techniques.

A lone image of the silver moon reflected off of the Koi pond in the middle of the zen garden of the local daimyo in the countryside of kirigakure. A wealthy man of the state lived here, one who had been known to be connected to the Yakuza, but to whom no accurate record could confirm as the culprit. The night's air was silent until suddenly the collapse of a body could be heard within the lord's chamber. Soon after a quick succession of footsteps on wood as Sai made his escape from the scene of the assassination, the blood from his blade dripping into the pond as he ran by, rippling the image of the moon.

Not long after, several guards were already in pursuit as Sai made his way to the wall of the compound. Suddenly, in a strange move he did not expect, one of the ninja erected an earth wall, which began to engulf him before closing in on him quickly. The assault was considered a success as Sai was nowhere to be seen, assumable crushed by the technique until suddenly the Doton user's eyes flashed open, a swift sound of metal cutting flesh moving through the air as he fell to the ground to reveal Sai standing behind him, his blade still dripping with the man's blood. With a quick swipe to the side, the blood from the blade was removed to reveal the kodachi's edge, which seemed to pass from a jet black color to a translucent metallic color as the light continued to glint off of it at separate angles.

Holding the blade out in front of him with his right hand, Sai drew his hand across the back of the blade with his left as he watched one of the guards run towards him with katana in hand. In what would seem like a blur, Sai image seemed to turn black and merge into the shadow cast by a large tree nearby within the garden. As the guards looked around at each other with confusion, another slicing of metal against flesh was heard as Sai re-emerged from the shadow against the wall behind the third guard, his image appearing in a blurred mass of black from the shadow before materializing behind the man, cutting him down. the third guard looked on in fear as he began to quiver and back away, dropping his sword to the grassy floor as he sprinted for the lord's mansion. After only a few seconds, the man suddenly found himself unable to move, as he looked down, only to see that a thing line was attached to the shadow his body cast on the grass.

For what seemed like a lifetime, the man could not move until suddenly he felt that he had control of his arm again. What was strange however was that it did not seem to respond to him as it fell to his side, seemingly trying to grab something from his back left hip, only to grasp at nothing. The guard was confused, and had no idea what was going on until his hand shot forward in front of him as if he were throwing something. The man was dead before he could even figure out what had occurred, as a kunai plunged into the back of his neck, killing him instantly as his brain was severed from the rest of his body. As the line connecting the man's shadow to whatever was behind him drew away, the man instantly fell dead in the garden as the shadowed continued to move backward, seemingly recoiling into Sai's blade as he sheathed his weapon and made his escape over the wall.
