The sun was slowly beginning to set, turning into the colors of Ili'ella herself. It was a lovely sunset, he thought, looking towards the horizon. It was also getting rather late, and he didn't want to leave the bright lioness by herself until morning. He was feeling protective, but he always felt protective of those lions and lionesses smaller than him (then again, many of them sometimes made him feel smaller). "I doubt it would be a dream, though," he laughed, stretching out and relaxing next to her. "You remind me a lot of my sister... did I tell you that already? She loves to wander around and have little adventures." Agen thought to himself that he should introduce Safura and Ella. The two would hit it off rather well, especially since both loved to wander about.

That, and his sister could use even more stories to tell to the cubs of that new pride they had both joined. It was a relatively small pride, and he had yet to wonder if they would even stay there for much longer, but one of these days they both would leave the pride and return to their rogue-ish ways. They had grown up that way, and settling down only seemed possible when they had mates and cubs. Agen himself wasn't ready for that yet, but perhaps his sister was... "I must introduce you to my sister," he said, smiling at Ella. "And I am also quite happy for your company as well, Ili'ella. You're a joy and a pleasure." He gazed at the setting sun, and added, "How about I keep you company until morning? We will part ways, then, and it's warmer with two of us, right?"

The warm contented feeling in her stomach was making her feel peaceful, her eyes drooping every once in a while, her smile pleasant as she watched Agen speak, stretched out comfortably. She had noticed the sun set as well, but did not wish to get up and leave, although she probably should have.

"I think your sister and I would get along well, if what you say about her is true!" She said with a smile, nodding. She needed more friends who understood what she did was not simply 'fanciful aversion to responsibility' or something else like that. "I would like to meet her some time," she continued.

She was slightly surprised by his offer to keep her company until morning, but her smile merely grew. "That sounds lovely, Agen, thank you," she told him honestly. "I am more then happy to have your company for tonight. I'm reluctant to part ways with you yet but-" she paused to yawn and gave a small giggle. "It seems my body is not used to such a wonderful feed and is telling me to sleep!" She shook her head, reluctant to give in and sleep away her time with him.

He turned his gaze upon the sun-colored lioness, a lightheartedness in his eyes as he chuckled softly. "Well, I will be here when you open your eyes--are you saying that I would abandon a lovely lioness in the middle of the night?" He winked at her, watching as she slowly drew closer to sleep. "Your stomach speaks well; good food and good sleep are some of the best things in the world. And I feel that you both would love the chance to make more friends." Agen turned away as he yawned, beginning to feel the effects of sleep. Being lions, they weren't likely to be attacked by any creature except other lions.

They were the top of the food chain in these lands, and other than hyenas probably trying to sneak off with the antelope he'd caught, he doubted they would have much to worry about. However, he'd keep an ear open for trouble, just in case. The last thing he wanted was trouble to come find him with Ili'ella in his care. It was fine if he was by himself--he could handle trouble by himself--but when he was protecting others, it was annoying. "Sleep, Ella," he purred soothingly, falling half-asleep himself, "I will make sure nothing happens to you, on my honor." He didn't break promises. Not anymore. He refused... he tucked away those thoughts of seasons long gone, and drifted off into a light doze. "You're quite welcome, Ili'ella," he mumbled in answer to her thanks.

Ili'ella looked distressed for a moment, denying that she thought he would abandon her before she realised it was a joke, and smiled at him. She watched as he yawned and giggled lightly - almost childishly - as her own body mirrored his move and yawned again. She rested her head down on her paws, watching him with a gentle smile.

"Thank you, Agen. I feel lucky to have made such a friend as you today," she told him softly, her paw touching his affectionately for a little while before moving it back and resting her chin back onto them. Her eyes were already drifting closed, her boy relaxed and tired for the first time in a long while. She felt safe with Agen watching over her and she let herself actually drifting off - not into a deep sleep, as she was too practiced and used to the rogue lands for that - but a peaceful sleep that made her body slump and her breathing even out. She had been well fed and now she was resting peacefully. The spirits had truely blessed her with a good friend, someone to look after her when she needed a break from being self-reliant.

He smiled to himself and, though he appeared relaxed, kept an ear out for anything odd approaching. "I feel the same way, Ella..." he whispered, thinking that, for once, he'd made a very good friend today. He wasn't sure which god or goddess was watching over him, but he thanked whoever brought Ella to him. She looked happy and at peace right now, and that was all he needed to see. Satisfied, Agen drifted into a half-doze, half-awake kind of feeling, watching the stars that began to decorate the black sky as the sun finally fell asleep as well.
