 To Deceive the Eye!
"An actual compliment?" Cherry spoke, mainly to herself, as she turned to look at the dummy once more. "Perhaps. The angle of the fan... it must have directed the wind and chakra to focus one that area. A mistake, I admit. But one I intend to replicate." Cherry tapped the fan on her knee, the small blades stitched into the edges barely missing cutting her clothes and skin. "Compliments... few and far between. What I do well... most people prefer to ignore." Her pink eyes and small smile turned back to Cory, though there was no hapiness in her face. "You compliment me on killing."

Cherry's smile largened a fraction, barely noticiable to the normal eye. "You're interesting. How rare." The nineteen year old turned back to the dummy, pink eyes scanning the wound and then looking back down to her fan, checking the metal edges. "A shame too. I take your compliment." The small woman said.

Cory Lei Sannin | Leaf He cocked an eyebrow in intrique, the shape of his face easily belonging to that of a twenty-year-old, but in actuality, was in the posession of a one-hundred seventy-two-year-old.
"Thank you" he replied, smirking a bit as tendrils slowly leaked out of his mouth. "I could easily say the same thing about you."

"That I'm interesting? Or that I'm rare?" She asked, putting the fan away after finding no damage or tearing from the grey chakra. She looked Cory straight in the eyes, faintly remembering them being green at one point but finding that they were now blue. She was undisturbed by the tendrils, barely even catching her attention. "Last time I was called 'rare', it was by an old woman who was clearly disturbed by my presence." She explained but went no further, only wanting to explain her point; that even compliments can hold darker meanings.

Cory Lei Sannin | Leaf His eyes softened, only to be coupled with a subtle frown upon Cory's face.
"You don't get compliments much, do you?" he asked, a bit worried, but not showing it. "I meant that it's rare to find a Kunoichi with so much skill and potential."

Cherry blinked at the last statement. Another compliment? Two in one day, a new record. One she doubt she'd ever see again. "You're right; it's a rare occurence. And it has been a long time since I've been told that I have 'skill and potential', mainly due to the fact that I now scare all those who once did." Cherry's smile remained intact throughout the entire conversation, obviously fake but so easily put into place. "What I train in now is not so much my prime talent. I'm just sick of being looked at with fear all the time." She tilted her head, regarding Cory with a curios and intense gaze. "Do you not feel the same?" Her eyes never left Cory's, finding nothing to be ashamed or pitied about in the stitches.

Cory Lei Sannin | Leaf The tendrils recoiled, going back into his mouth as he lifted up his shirt. It was slender, but nonetheless in-shape. There were large stitches across his breast and stomach.
"Yesss, actually" he replied, choking back his tears. "After I turned into what I am today, People in the leaf ssstarted to call me 'Knitted Doll.'

Cherry gaved at the stitches, a small slender hand coming up to touch the stitches but stopped before it did. Cherry looked up back into Cory's eyes. "May I?" She asked, voice not showing anything, small smile intact and eyes devoid of anything akin to fear or disgust.

Cory Lei Sannin | Leaf He looked down, a bit surprised that someone would want to touch the stitches, let alone even look at them.
"I-if you want to" he replied, stuttering a bit. "The texture of them may not be all that pleasurable though."
What Cory was saying was true; The tendril-stitches were actually very thick, unlike real stitches, because these were dark-gray, thick, and rough.

Instead of replying, Cherry looked back down at the stitches crossing over Cory's chest, her small hand gently touching a single stitch first, feeling it move as the man breathed. Her pink eyes took in the design of the pattern, her fingers running over each thread, feeling the rough texture. "Amazing." She whispered, unconsciously leaning closer. "Is this what keeps you together? I've never heard of such a thing..." She looked back up at Cory's face, her hand now moving to run over the threads there too.

Cory Lei Sannin | Leaf "Yesss" he replied, almost instantly. "Without them, I would be nothing but a heap of flesh and tendril."
Just as he finished talking, the tendrils that stitched him together came undone at one specific area, which just so happened to be where Cherry was feeling. Upon looking into the now opened wound, more tendrils lunged out, laying over the brim of his skin and laying down across his toned stomach.

"And these?" Cherry asked, her fingers feeling the tendrils as they slipped out of the wound. "Is this what keeps you alive?" She spoke softly, entranced by what she was seeing, so strange, foriegn, but it neither disgusted her or made her feel fear.

Cory Lei Sannin | Leaf He looked down at Cherry feeling his tendrils, which at times gave him the heebie-jeebies. With living for more than 150 years in the body of a Knitted Doll, he wondered if anyone else thought his ability was 'cool.'
"Yes, actually" he replied, becoming prouder of his tendrils. "These hold my wounds and body together... My tendrils are my stitches."
