The girl nodded. "I like turkey." It seemed rather strange to her that someone in Destiny City would not celebrate Thanksgiving, such as Elke, but it was probably some foreign thing? "Well, I'm um...half-Italian? At least my dad is, but I was born here."
"You both could come to a compromise?" She said lightly. "Like, she'll motivate you to study, and you could drag her out for movies and stuff?" To be honest, she hoped that would be the case. If Giselle and Elke hadn't seen the strange things around here, she thought it was wise to nudge them into the direction of 'getting out of Barren Pines as much as possible'.

With an encouraging smile, she nodded. "Papa says that Thanksgiving was fun when he was growing up," she informed Serenade. "Italy's a pretty, pretty country. Have you ever been?"
Another laugh, accompanied by a stumble, but this time she was more startled than light-hearted. "Sorry! Sorry! I'm not laughing at you, promise!" She looked up, her green eyes wide like wow you really just said that and then she smiled. Again. Elke smiled a lot. "Have you ever tried negotiating with Giselle? I bet I'd have more luck negotiating with a brick wall!"
The sad thing was that it was probably true.

"Sadly, no." Serenade confessed. "But I would like to, sometime." Though what worried her with travelling was that she would be away from the piano, away from practice, and she would become terribly rusty and...
"I don't really know Giselle that well." She said thoughtfully. "But she seems like the kind that's very focused on what she does."

Elke was still stuck on the whole 'negotiating with giselle' thing. "At least with the brick wall I could just go around it," she mused, and then she turned her attention back to Serenade. "Are you done with classes for today? I am. Well, except I have extracurricular Spanish, I'm taking a fluency test today." It seemed kind of disrespectful, not to cancel classes on the days of the memorials. But then, Elke wasn't a teacher. Maybe this was just meant to lessen the impact of the deaths?
She did not like that thought.
"I'll show you pictures sometime," offered Elke, "They're kind of old, they're from when I was six, but they're still good, right?"

"No, I just...probably need to get to practice." Serenade said, though she had been too distracted these few days to properly concentrate on her pieces. The deaths had truly bothered her, though she attempted to focus all of her remaining concentration on her practice. It was hard however, to not look at the piano and remember teaching Benny Chopsticks.
"It sounds nice." She bobbed her head in agreement. "I'm sure you were cute back then."

"If you gotta go, don't let me stop you," said Elke, though she dearly wanted to hang out with Serenade a little longer. "I can always show you the pictures of Italy later, it's not like my laptop is going anywhere, actually it's just up in my room, you know?"

"It's not actually time yet." Serenade said lightly. It was lucky it wasn't, because even though she had been distracted, she didn't want to be late for practice. "How about your test?"
