An idea for an event came to mind. I think it would be great if we had some sort of 'Secret Santa' thing where everyone makes and edit for someone else 3nodding

That'd be fun! 3nodding Ooh... yes. That would be fun and great for getting everyone involved in something. Holiday themed events would be great! (EX: Halloween - "post your avatar in costume" day, etc...)

I have a suggestion...
Make a mule for the AE Guild and give the password to anyone considered the "staff." No large amounts of gold or items would be placed in it, save for a generic outfit so that it's not running around nyewd. Then, use the mule to create the stickies such as the linklist.
Specific people can still be in charge of updating and maintaining their specific post in the linklist, however the linklist will forever be update-able even if guild staff leave Gaia.
The staff can "sign" the posts that they make with the mule, or they can each pick a certain color to post in if you think differentiating between the mule-sharers would be useful.

How about a Newbies/Wannabe section were people can help the new editors with tips, techniques, and comments of teh test/first works.
Also try to make small tutorials with different programs and OS, like GIMP, PSP, and OS like Linux, etc.
See Ya

And if in the event that the real world prevents me from being on Gaia as much as I usually am, I can hand over Captain powers to another who'll have to hold responsibility for everything here. 3nodding I'll be sure to stickie the linklist and other important threads.....everyone can just remind me here or PM me and I'll hop to it......or you can bug Shock, cuz as a crew member I believe he can do the same things..... At the moment this place doesnt need much for Crew/moderators.......... But if we need it, I'll appoint more.

I like the secret santa idea(but I dont really remember how it entirely works....been like 11 years since I was part of one sweatdrop ) and I really like the halloween costume idea......^_^ I think everyone would have fun with those.
Also for the tutorials thing, I would like to see that here.....is there anyone ....or a couple of people.... who would like to write up an avvy edit tutorial thread?

Ah, I had no idea that "Captain" powers existed in Guilds. ^^ That takes care of everything, then.
A Secret Santa usually works in this manner.
1. Everyone interested submits name to Person In Chage. 2. PIC randomly assigns each person a Secret Santa. 3. PIC tells each Secret Santa who has been assigned to them. 4. The Secret Santas get busy drawing (or buying) a gift for their person. 5. All gifts are turned in to the PIC. 6. The gifts are handed out by the PIC.
In order to preserve the mystery, people are not "paired up." For instance, if my Secret Santa is shocktv3, I would not automatically be his Secret Santa.

Tyran Brandywine I like the secret santa idea(but I dont really remember how it entirely works....been like 11 years since I was part of one sweatdrop ) and I really like the halloween costume idea......^_^ I think everyone would have fun with those. yeah, that would be fun. I'd also like to hold themed Avatar Jams... where a theme is given and we all post our edits on the theme. It'd be broad, like "Fairytale" and "Oriental", to give scope for a wide variety of entries. Maybe a prize could be given at the end. Tyran Brandywine Also for the tutorials thing, I would like to see that here.....is there anyone ....or a couple of people.... who would like to write up an avvy edit tutorial thread? I'm thinking of contributing one of those. But I've been very busy lately and haven't had time. sweatdrop

I think Meriko did a great job of explaining the secret santa process biggrin
I actually wrote a tutorial a loong time ago (distributed only to a few people), but it's quite out of date. I'd be happy to post it after I update it (and get a couple of you to check it over) ^_^; But since everyone has their own style of drawing, method of making edits, and program they prefer, it would be great if there were tutorials from everyone, so we can hopefully learn some useful tips from one another 3nodding

i say if potto the magnificent would like to take charge of the links listings, we sticky his thread 3nodding
holiday & themed events are a must 3nodding im drooling at the fun possibilities for halloween... also, concerning the avatar jams, should we have a regular one like the art forum contests? or just every so often so as not to get monotonous? toga party!
the secret santa is a terrific idea whee are we goin to save it for the holidays or should we do it soon as an ice breaker for all us rookies?
i also like what charlie said bout a thread for all padawan editors. we can keep all tutorials in the first post or two in there.

Padawan Meriko seconds Master shocktv3's suggestion for stickying Potto the Magnificent's thread!
I vote that we do an introductory Secret Santa~ ^_^ I don't want to wait until Halloween. *mweehee*
How about we dress up each other's avatars in formalwear, as if we're holding a Guild Grand Opening party? Everyone would submit their nekkid avatar to the person organizing the Secret Santa as part of the sign-up process, and then after we're all done, someone could stand them all together...maybe use the Gambino Mansion banner image as a background. *hee* We could even hang a banner from Gambino's ceiling that reads, "Avatar Editor Guild Annual Ball: 2004" or something.
