Derecho arched an eyebrow at his sister as she whirled about with a look on her face that made it clear she intended to whack him...just try it he thought to himself, Derecho just wouldn't tolerate that sort of thing from his sisters and despite the fact that it would wake up thier parents he would have to put her in her place.
Before she got around to any such funny business however she spotted the cricket..yes thats right, he could be nice too. He could have squished the cricket he reasoned and simply not told her - but the cricket would make her happy and despite some of his words and actions Derecho did want his sisters to be happy.
"Yeah..I thought you'd like it" He told her as she peered down at the bug, he could only hope that she wouldn't get Tempests idea into her head and decide to try and collect the little beasties...Derecho had no idea how one would go about trying to keep crickets contained. He was pretty sure they could jump and a hold just wouldn't work.

She watched the cricket closely as it hopped around a bit, it didn't seem at all concerned that a wolf pup was staring at it so closely. She had almost forgotten that her brother was there until he spoke again. "Of course I like it." She replied, looking up at him. Her attention then turned back to the cricket. To her disappointment the tiny insect began to hop away. She stood up and went to go after it but then she remembered her promise to her mother, that she would stay in sight of the den entrance and therefore could not chase after the bug.
She sat back down and sighed. Well at least it had made her happy for a few moments. Her thoughts were interrupted by the growling of her stomach. She was hungry, looking at her brother she didn't think he could get food for her. "Mom and dad should be up soon, then we can get something to eat." Working on songs always made her hungry

Derecho watched his sister as she thought about chasing the cricket but stopped - Tempest probably would have dashed away after it, but that was Aleu for you...always trying to do the right thing. Derecho just hoped that her goodness didn't disappear when she got older..or get her into trouble. but thats what your here for he told himself and sat up smartly as she eluded to being hungry.
"Well come on then" he told her gruffly before turning and padding back into the den, glancing at her over his shoulder "mom won't be mad if we wake her up cause your hungry" he promised.

Aleu rolled her eyes, Derecho was so annoying at times and yet she still loved him. I mean he was her brother after all, how could she not love him. She stretched and followed him back into the den. "Of course she won't be mad." She told him in a snippy voice.
