Nightfire listened carefully, "But we are made to change and grow. I am not the same as I was before I met you. Nor am I the same as I was two seconds ago. We cannot stop the process where we grow and change. But we can try to maneuver so that those whom you wish to stay in your life do stay into your life."

Almarea closed her eyes as she listened to his words. "My people don't change, they never change but I had to. And I'm glad to have found you." She sighed as she inhaled his scent, and heard the echoes of the forest around them. "It'd all be worth it, just to have met you."

She felt safe in his wings, as though nothing could arm her when she was this close to him. The world could end and it would mean nothing, for this moment would last forever....far beyond that. She let herself be consumed by the burning passion of his love.
