"...Brother?"
Blink blink. ...DING! The light -finally- went on in Demy's mind, and he couldn't help but actually smile himself. A brother, huh? Well it wasn't quite how he expected the night to end, but this -could- prove interesting.
Afterall, it was just one more person to convince of how unbelievably awesome he was. One more person to gloat to over everything from his new best score in Guitar Hero to that whole band idea him and Z were starting to toss around. Ha! This was going to kick a**!
Thoughts were interrupted by the sudden warning. No...just...really? He had a brother with a shinies collection? His eyes lit up at the very thought.
"Dude, really? You have a shinies collection? You're not just pulling my leg? s**t man, that's...that's awesome. Shinies make the world go 'round ya know. This guy.....hey he kinda had hair like you even..."
At this he reached out, and if Torbernite wasn't quick to pull away he'd find his brother's hand running through his hair.
"Anyways, he was telling me about these special shinies inside...peop...."
He trailed off. Wait man, WAIT. He wasn't supposed to talk about these things to normal people right? Awww damnit but he wanted to tell his brother! Argh, sometimes this secretive s**t really sucked.
"....Nevermind man. Show me the shiny collection sometime, yeah?"

He didn't wait for the metaphorical light to click on the other's metaphorical brain before marching stiffly out from whence he came, scissors still in one hand.
Hey, some part of his brain remarked, I think your uh, 'step brother', is still talking.
Yeah yeah, and the world could end tomorrow too, for all that he cared. Had Toby been actually paying more attention, his blood might have run cold at the mention of "shinies inside people" - as those words would most likely come to haunt him again one day - but right now, his brain was currently running the Please Just Make It Go Away soundtrack. As if to emphasize his point, he efficiently slammed the door behind him, half-stomping and half-slugging his feet along due to tiredness motion.
The microwave clock in the kitchen informed him that it was 3:00 am - oh wait, it was an hour fast. Ten sailor senshi fully armed could have popped into the room at this point and he would still have curled up on the couch to grab some much-needed sleep.
Tomorrow: responsibilities could always be put off for another day. For now, just rest.
He sighed, leaning over closer towards the couch... and fell into it with a thud. Fumbling a bit, Toby finally turned around, and a slow light dawned on him somewhere in the thought of "I think someone stole the couch padding."
And that someone... was going to die. Tomorrow. Y-
- he was asleep before he could finish that thought, despite lack of couch padding, awkward position and all. Little did he know how much his neck and back would hurt tomorrow as well, keeping him occupied from other thoughts of the murder of potential step-siblings.
