I am all for spaying and neutering. While I love mixed breeds, the VAST majority of them are reults of "the puppies will be cute" breedings, which I do not approve of. My personal opinion is that a dog should not be bred unless it is a champion show dog or a tried working dog (this includes Seeing Eye and rescue dogs), and has passed all health and temperament tests.

Callowyn of Calypso lil_gene when we got our dog we neutered him and when I told my friends they were like "oh my god how could you make him get neutered.. how would you feel? you could buy a female dog make them have doggystyle and sell the puppies, I said No. and walked away...and this is in Australia...remember that. If we over populate with animals all these laws will come in... rabbits are banned from here..along with Eminem...(which is good, I hate him) Rabbits are banned? Is it because they breed really fast? yeah, it's because they breed fast and eat the crops and all that.

i think animals should be allowed to breed only if they are permitted. if there is a permit required, there wouldn't be as many homeless pets. it should cost to buy a permit like that. let's say about $50-$100. that way people would actually think about whether or not it was worth it. that's just an idea, though.
all pets that don't have permits would be spayed or neutered.

Reminds me of my idiot neighbors. (Idiot neighbor #1 has an unfixed, wandering girl kitty. Idiot neighbor #2 has an unfixed, wandering, boy kitty. Don't get me wrong, I love those kittens; they're damn cute, but some people, ugh.)

Moving back to the topic..
My own Jack Russel/Beagle mix was spayed when we recieved her to our home -- had to take her in a week later to remove stitches (yeah, she was that fresh off the surgery table). Anyway, we discovered over time the benefits of spaying and nuetering had reached her in a different and almost too late fashion. She developed a tumor in one of her teets (a.k.a. breasts) that arose from obviously having a litter of puppies once. What peeves me the most though is she is too mellow for words, and we believe this arises from her first litter being taken away prematurely along with some abuse from somewhere before her adoption. I used to volunteer in one of the ASPCA branch shelters, which was a no-kill shelter, and I do my research on account of me having HAD a desire to be a veterinarian. There is nothing wrong with getting your pet 'fixed' aside from cost, and if you possess just five minutes of patience, you can find a non-profit organization that will give your animal a free spay or nueter. Especially for felines, folks, so I don't even want to hear complaints from so-called pet owners about cost because it's practically nonexistent nowadays with so many choices and help around the bend.

My idiot neighbors are back, even more idiotic than ever. Only this time, it's with dogs.
They're gonna breed their dog "Because she's in heat so we decided to find a boy boxer"

Ergh i hate that. some buy down the street had 2 male cats and let them out so the local stray being female got pregnant 2 times! i told him to fix his cats if hed let them out unless he planned to take care of the kittens. But he wouldnt so i actually like fasted and didn't spoil myself for weeks to fix 9 cats and then took them all into my house and found them homes with friends and on ranches in the area. since they were stray thy could catch mice and lived well but im still mad this happened making 14 cats who would have had a chance be stuck in pounds or killed. i wanned to punch him.
