Fitzroy happily scrambled onto the chair that Adhara left for him, not noticing the two adults leaving him and Adelle alone as he pet her hair happily, unable to keep from smiling at her speech.
"Are dey what's makin' yah talk all silly," he asked with a giggle. Stroking her arm, he looked curiously at the hand underneath the covers, feeling a little bad for wanting to see it. "So... did de dokitors put your fingies back, 'Delle?"

Adelle giggled as she was pet, sighing happily. "Ya, dat'sh the shillytalkin'," she mumbled, simply enjoying the pets for the time being. Sutry reached out weakly to try and grab onto Fitzroy, but fell very short and instead just fell back onto the bed, both tentacles more lethargic than ever before.
When the question popped up, she shook her head, pulling her hand out from beneath the covers to reveal that there was only her pinky, index finger, and thumb left attached, all wrapped up in gauze that was rather bloody. "Nopesh. I only hash free now," she said rather sadly, looking at her hand but not wanting to move from where she was, enjoying the clinging to her friend.

Fitzroy gasped quietly at the appearance of the hand, and very gently stroked the gauze that lay on the top of Adelle's hand, not wanting to actually touch the wound itself. He gnawed at his lip worriedly, not wanting Adelle to start crying again. But she probably would; losing fingers was a very sad thing indeed. That is, if he losed two fingers, he couldn't even use the hand anymore!
He smiled encouragingly at his friend, though, and patted her arm gently, Pac-man nibbling fretfully at the blanket. "I'm so sowwy youw fingers are goned, 'Delle. But it'll be all okay! I mean, I gots free fingers, and I'm fine!" The spawn held up his hand, a broad smile on his face. "See? Now we match!"

Adelle's hand was only able to stay in the air for a few moments before it fell back down onto the covers, where she looked down at it and giggled like a drunk. She smiled cutely back up at Fitzroy, still dizzy from a mixture of blood loss and medication, and her dizzy smile only grew when her bestest friend in the whole wide world pointed out that their hands matched.
"Uh-huh, dey do!!" she said excitedly, lifting her hand and pressing it forward until her palm was against Fitzroy's, and she smiled, one fang poking out to bite gently at the edge of her lip. Gently, wary of the wound itself, she laid her fingers down between her friend's, then using her other hand to press his down as well. Once again, she beamed, wings even perking up a bit despite the trouble they were in. Their hands fit perfectly. "Lookit, Fissyroy!!"
