Blushing high in her cheeks she looked down at her food poking it a bit before she worked up the nerve to answer. "I... have." No she hadn't but it was a lie she wished she could take back the moment she said it. Somehow all the apprehensions of past experience had her picking the easiest way out. Escaping. If she could end things before him maybe it wouldn't hurt so bad.
Looking up her eyes seemed to be glossy but she managed a soft smile. "I mean we have been together for a long time. And I've read that couples should take time off to explore their options. Sometimes it forms stronger bonds because they realize what is missing when it's not readily there." Though she spoke from a place outside of herself, she would never dream of leaving Seth so why the sudden take? "I.. mean don't you think so?" Say no Seth, please say no! If there were ever a time to be pissed at me this is it... please say no!

Crest-fallen would be a severe understatement to describe how he felt as he listened to her reply. Something about this didn't seem quite right, but his mind was reeling too much to fully think things through. Neverless, he still managed to somehow force out a reply. "I... can't say that I really agree with that point of view," Seth said slowly, ears laying flat as he lightly prodded his food with a fork. "What options would you want to even explore if you're already in love? However, I can't really force you to stay with me if your heart's not in it." He favored her with a sad smile. "I told you from the beginning, Noe, that if you ever changed your mind I would leave you in peace." The cheetah Hyte looked back down at his food, and with a humorless chuckled muttered, "I suppose tonight was a bad idea..."

"I..." Squeaking out she had been about to speak when his words traveled to her. At first she blinked, then as he spoke her features seemed to melt away as if her face were trapped in ice. First the frown smoothed into an arched brow, her lips once pouting melted into a low smile at first. It seemed to grow more as he spoke but dimmed at a few words in his statement. Shaking her head vigorously she reached over the table to take his hand. "I don't want to leave!" Blushing suddenly at the confession she sat back looking down at her lap to smooth out her dress a bit. "I merely brought it up because..." She paused mid-sentence then blinked. "Wait what was a bad idea?" The look of genuine confusion playing across her features.

Noe's confusion was met with a look of equal confusion on Seth's part now. First she suggests breaking up, and then she says she doesn't want to leave? What the heck is going on? At her question, he gestured vaguely to the restaurant around them. "This evening in general. It seems to have had rather the opposite effect than was intended." His eyes studied her face, still trying to figure out what all was going on. "You brought it up because...?" In his mind he was starting to wonder whether or not it would just be best to put this off for another night. Hopefully Noe's reply would lend him some insight into that.

Fidgeting in her seat she smoothed at an imaginary wrinkle on her dressing unable to look him in the face. At first it seemed she had nothing to say but soon her lips were moving, words coming out slowly. "Opposite? But I thought --" This was getting rather frustrating.
"It's hard to read you sometimes but tonight it's been harder then usual. You know I pick up on things quicker then others but all the secrecy behind this dinner has only made me more frazzled that I can't even enjoy it." Sighing in defeat she deflated and sat back in her chair gazing out the window. "I don't know anymore..." There was a long pause between them before she decided to speak again. "I don't think I can take someone dear to me walking out of my life again..." Though whispered low it was enough for Seth to hear.

Seth blinked once, then twice as he processed what she had said. "You... thought I was leaving you?" The notion was so absurd and opposite of his intentions that the he nearly wanted to laugh. "Noe," he said with a smile, gently grabbing her hand. "That is not my intention in the least. I'm sorry if I've been 'hard to read' tonight, but I assure you that I have my reasons." The cheetah Hyte relaxed considerably now that the mix-up was out in the open. He flashed her a winning smile before saying, "You'll have to learn to trust me more, my love."

For a moment it didn't seem like it registered but soon Noe allowed a deep sigh to escape. "Y-you're not leaving me?" Hard to believe but she managed to relax with each reassuring word. "I'm sorry..." Looking down she gave a weak smile. "I trust you Seth. I really do but sometimes its hard to let go of the pain..." Venturing a look she smiled a little more wishing to sit closer to him. "I love you so much so I get scared easily."

Seth also was not too fond of the table separating them at the moment, but he would be certain to remedy that later on. "Noe, I will always love you," he replied, giving her hand a light squeeze. "And nothing will ever change that."
The rest of the meal went quite comfortably. The two were able to get over most of their earlier nervousness and simply enjoy spending time with one another. Near the end of their meal however, the lighting in the restaurant dimmed just a bit further, and the background music changed. It was an old romantic piece playing now, and couples were beginning to make their way to the area in the center, which was now clearly a dance floor. It's time. Taking his cue, the cheetah Hyte arose from his seat and stepped over to Noe's side. With an outstretched paw and a loving smile, he asked, "May I have this dance?"

The rest of the evening seemed to breeze by. With less nervous tension between them, Noelani was able to smile more and laugh. She enjoyed the company that Seth provided and with each minute that went by her fear ebbed away.
When the lights dimmed and the music began to play, Noe began to shrink in her seat. Pressing her dress down in her lap she watched the other couples head for the dance floor and smiled dreamily. It seemed like something out of her deepest dreams when she saw Seth rise and ask her for her hand...
Looking away shyly she managed to compose herself long enough to flash him a winning smile. "My pleasure." She replied standing and hooking her arm in his with a soft giggle. Smiling the whole way to the dance floor she took her hand in one of his and waited while he wrapped an arm around her waist. "Thank you for tonight. It's beautiful."

"Thank you, my love," Seth purred back in her ear as he wrapped an arm gently around her wait, pulling her close to him. "You are the true beauty here tonight." The two began to sway slowly together with the music, lost for the time being in their own little world. Then, softly so that only Noe could hear, he began to sing along with the lyrics.
It's very clear

May just be passing fancies and in time may go

It was a private song, sung only for her and whispered into her ear. Yet, even so, it scarcely managed to convey what the cheetah Hyte felt for her. Tenderly, he brushed his lips against hers, amber eyes burning passionately as he looked into her green ones.

Noelani practically melted as Seth began to sing to her. With a becoming blush flushing across her cheeks and nose, she could barely keep her eyes from his while they moved in a slow circle across the dance floor. Barely aware of the others around them, she rested her cheek against his chest briefly trying to compose herself just enough not to ooze into a puddle of kuppy right on the floor. When she was certain she could bare to watch him again, she looked up to find his eyes glowing with a passion he usually shared with her in private. "Se-" Cut off by the brush of lips against her own, she wrapped her arms around him pulling closer to return his kiss, glad that her earlier worries were far from reality.

They danced together for quite a while that way, and no one else in the world existed except for them. Eventually, the couple made their way back to their table to finish what little was left of their meal. After the check had been paid, Seth took Noe out back behind the restaurant. It was quite dark outside, which made the stars seem even brighter. There was a small lake there which had a path built all around it, along with a couple of benches. There were a few couples about here and there, but everyone kept mostly to themselves. “You don’t mind if we go for a small walk, do you?” the cheetah asked with a small smile, giving Noe a light n** on the ear. Inside, the butterflies were beginning to build up once more as they neared the moment of truth. Will she say yes?

Following Seth outside she said nothing, only admiring the cool breeze and the calming atmosphere. It was much better out here away from the stuffy heat inside. Noting the lake she smiled brightly walking along side the cheetah as he led the way. "Walking is always good." She announced smiling warmly. "I was getting a bit warm anyway." The couples scattered about did little to deter the kuppy from enjoying a quite moment with her cheetah. They hadn't spent much time like this before and with school taking all her time away she feel slightly guilty for not being around for him as often as she could.

"Were you now?" he replied with a light smile and and small chuckle as they walked down the path. Teasingly, he added, "Was the dancing too much for you?"
Seth paused in the walking once they had reached a semi-secluded flower-patch by the lake. From the angle they were at, the moonlight shone off of the white petals and made them almost seem to glow. This place is good. Favoring Noe with a loving smile, he took a moment to lean down and give her a tender kiss. "Noe," he said as he pulled away, "I love you more than I can even attempt to express with words. These months that we have spent together have been almost too wonderful to be true, and I know that I will never want anyone else other than you." His pawed hand slipped into his pocket as he spoke, fingers curling around a small velvet box. This is it. Holding onto one of Noe's hands with his free one, he bent himself down onto one knee. "I want to spend the rest of my life with you." He pulled out the small box and held it open in offering to her. "Noe, will you marry me?"

No way! Her mind reeled when he began speaking for a moment she didn't think it possible but when he moved to grab something from his pocket then went to his knees her heart literally stopped. "No way!" She breathed softly eyes watching him closely, how could this be? They had been dating for as long as she could remember but to think it had evolved this far. "Are you sure... Seth? Are you sure this is what you want?" She looked slightly worried but it was all part of her nerves getting the better of her. What should she say? Was she ready for this? Was it really okay?
Thinking about unresolved issues from her past she wondered if jumping head long into a dream were the right thing to do. Watching Seth closely she smiled warmly, surprisingly no tears filled her eyes a genuine warm glow. "I love you, Seth. I don't need anything else... Yes! I'll marry you!" It was all she could think to do. He hadn't abandoned her or caused her harm. She felt safe with him and if this were a way to get closer then she would take it no questions asked. "I love you so much!"
