((OOC: How does Ky know Calamar is trying to peer into his mind?))
PostPosted: Fri Dec 18, 2009 5:19 am

II0 EPiC 0II
This was one of those days a person reflected everything they learned, and Calamar found itself walking towards a large fort, it had a very defined shape and it was pleasing to the eye for some strange reason. It reminded itself of the under dark of Heuco Mundo, but aside from that there was a minor distraction, a speck of another being standing before it. Closing it's eyes the tall creature simply walked with it's arms over it's chest folded as it continued to think deeply on its recent experiences. Within enough time the Flyer found itself walking up directly behind the man before the fort. Simply picking at this creatures mind his name surfaced along with more mental prodding within the fort and realized that this fort was owned not by a hollow but by another type of creature. A bount. Whatever a Bount was Calamar was, needless to say, very very curious to know what Ky was. Walking past the man that was talking to himself Calamar walked up to the large door and glared at it curiously. Wondering if it was locked or would open on it's own. Closing it's eyes the creature searched for this Ky within the fort and found him, his mind picked at it fiercely attempting to know everything about the strange creatrure within. While it's mind picked at Ky's it spoke and Ky could hear a deep metalic voice echoing from within his skull, "Ky Die Varrater, Leader and Master of the Bounts and Ravens." It paused, "I have many questions for you keeper of knowledge."

Though it couldn't tell exactly what Ky was doing there was a hint of the under dark that seemed up through this building, or not much through it but from it. It was an all to memorable sensation that it almost felt like home just to be standing before this grand building. "This building is out of place Ky Die Varrater, it belongs within the under dark." Calamar simply clacked it's beak curiously as it continued, only Ky could hear it's voice, "Why would you stain such a construct with the gazes of mindless hollows?" Looking back at Karma the creature spoke to him directly, and now within Karma's head the same voice Ky heard could be felt, [b}"Be gone with you Karma, throne-less king." It turned fully towards him now, "The likes of you are not worthy of gazing upon this structure." Taking a threatening step towards him it finished, "Without direction you will die." Raising its arm Calamar finished, "Find it now and be gone."

((It's a simple analysis and assumption on Ky's part. Think about it, if someone were to have an ability to allow themselves to pry and telepathically communicate with a person from a remote location, then what would stop them from prying out some information from the brain while they were at it? Of course, the fact that part of Ky's personality was to think several steps ahead of an opponent's move also helped him come to the most logical and most plausible conclusion within the given situation.

Of course, this doesn't bother Ky much at all save his preference of privacy being violated by Calamar's act. Ky had already fought a fair share of opponents gifted with telepathy or telepathy-like abilities before, so he already knows how to deal with such tactics and his mind is already conditioned in such a way that even telepathic people would find it nearly impossible to get information from his brain. Therefore, I'm guessing that even if Calamar were to obtain information from his unauthorized picking of his brain, he would find that the tables would be turned on him quite unexpectedly, hence the threat from Ky. At best, Calamar would probably obtain just a little information about Ky, like his likes, dislikes, age, and the like. His plans, however, would be much more difficult, almost impossible even, for Calamar to procure.

You may or may not know this, although I have stated this fact several times before, but one of Ky's fortes is within the field of psychology. Knowing Ky, if Calamar were to get some information, it would be more or less something that could either be true or untrue a la Schrodinger's Cat. It may be something that Ky intentionally let out to let Calamar play into his plan, or a hint of truth so Calamar would be able to delve into his mind a bit more before trapping him by using his expertise in the field of psychology, manipulating his thought patterns which would confuse a brain of lesser ability and would inadvertently cause irreparable damage to said brain.))

The giant building began to shine in a dim, crimson glow and a barrier with a strength to counter several Gran Rey Ceros fired all at once erected itself around Fort Enbrasse. The light generated was unnoticeable while the energy it emitted was low enough to be masked by the over-abundance of arrancar reiatsu all over Las Noches. This made the structure's main function all the more easier which was to collect the surrounding reiatsu energy like a sponge, amplify its power a hundred thousand times over by using the alchemical energy as a natural energy amplifier, and send the resulting energy to the underground laboratory to aid in the EX-Machina activation sequence. Instead of using nuclear power or the alchemical power Ky had found deep beneath Las Noches, it would attract less attention if he just used the excess energy from Las Noches. Not only was it safer, it was more cost-efficient as well.

Walking forward he moved within the building, stepping up as if there were a single step the creature moved itself off the floor not to set off any traps this man might have tucked away just beneath the floor. Taking his mind away from Ky as he finished his first set of words Calamar did not hear what else he had to say and the threat was safer un-heard. Blinking slowly the creature paused just inside the barrier as it enveloped the entire complex. Simply sighing the creature made a popping noise as it continued to navigate it’s way towards the man within this curious construct. Pausing at an intersection another sigh slipped through its beak as Calamar attempted to read which direction to go, turning slightly to the right he vanished from view and appeared at another intersection, then vanished again, and repeated this step for several minutes before finally reaching the door in which Ky worked diligently. Focusing on the door itself the powerful Psychic knocked twice against it mentally making a metallic hum with each tap. It gurgled again in contemplation before speaking forth from audibly, ”Even though we talk in person, you are still faceless to me.” It paused before speaking again, ”I have questions about your construct.”

Sliding back slightly to allow the door to open comfortably the creature stood and waited patiently making sure to slide it’s mind over every inch of surface within this hall, searching for clues to why it stunk like the Underdark. It felt like home but at the same time it inspired primal thoughts of instinct, to kill, to feed, to hide and wait. To see seize the perfect chance to strike an unknowing creature and drain it’s skull of it’s knowledge and to feed off the soul. There might have been thousands of traps set aside waiting for anyone foolish enough to cross Ky within his own Layer, but this was no different from the Underdark. This man was no different from any other human it’d consumed while it aimlessly searched for answers upon Earth. Knowledge was power, but to Calamar it was only the ammo, it took a certain kind of discipline to use it correctly. Fit it into the wrong rifle and it could backfire and kill the user. Knowledge was a double bladed sword…

As for the decorations, Calamar didn’t understand the point of having such useless things as titles or monuments to prove a person’s worth. Then again he himself was simply a spy, an agent working for Jes, however to anybody else in Las Noches, he was very much a part of Aizen’s military. In a way he was here for personal adventure but at the same time he was looking for threats against the person he worked for. If there was anything suspicious the Fortress would be attack immediately as Calamar would warn every Arrancar in the area of this man’s threat to their lively hood.

Calamar was a nobody, and that was its greatest weapon.

((Moved back to Las Noches on Oath-kun's request. While I wonder what it was doing in the Grand Library thread, I assume it must have been moved there during the cleanup thinking that it was dead.)) 3nodding

Appearing directly in front of Fort Enbrasse were the two boys, Herieo panting as he held Hitsugaya over his right shoulder. He was smiling though. They'd gotten through there little gauntlet, and they deserved a rest and whatnot. Here in this 'Las Noches' place, all people seemed to do was fight. This specific area, on the other hand, was different then all the rest. It was the same size, but it's design and feel was completely off when compared. Even the man who'd made this place elicited such an off, and unfamiliar presence when compared to the others here. He couldn't judge though; he himself was one of the only two humans to grace this land at the moment. "We're here~!"

Soujirou simply rested as he was carried to the fort by his friend. "Thanks, Herieo!" He exclaimed as they reached the fort. He rolled off of his friend's shoulder and barely spun around enough to land on his feet. "Oooh. That would have been bad." He grinned stupidly, and ran up to the doors. He started to kick at them with his right leg, for he thought that just using his hands wouldn't be good enough. "We're here!" He repeated what his friend said.

((WE SHALL BE CALLED...The Wēijī! Either that, or æternity. Weiji basically means crisis. It's famous for being used by JFK, because he said that the Chinese word for crisis is composed of Wei, which means danger and ji, which means opportunity. So it could be used to describe our group.

And æternity is a combination of the words Aeon and eternity, which are both basically the same concept; Lasting forever/immortal.))

((OOC: oh oh dibs! I want to be apart of the plot if that's why you two are here. Even if it's just in passing.))

Ky Die Verrater

((Just jump in. It's a free-for-all plot, anyway. And Oath, which one of those would be the name of the team?))

"So you arrived," a voice greeted the three as Ky, the leader of the Bounts, in a rather bold display of utter confidence in himself and his power, intentionally appeared in person to congratulate the two substitute shinigami on their success while greet the newcomer who had been wandering about his fortress for a long while now. He came from an unexpected place, a hidden door located at some shadowy part of the long hallway they had just passed by, so it was natural for them to be surprised if they were capable of such an emotion.

Gazing upon Calamar, then Herieo, and finally Soujirou, Ky nodded in agreement. They were useful, very useful. It was a shame that their powers were not fully developed yet, but they had the potential. He had seen it when the two fought against those almost endless wave of hollow scorpions and survived. As for the other creature, Ky sensed a powerful spirit within him as if ready to devour something if that something were careless enough to not watch its back while he was around.

Focusing only on Calamar this time, Ky opened his mouth to reply. "Now that you have seen my face, I hope you tell me your name now before I do mine. It's common courtesy to do so when entering someone's house. I assume that Jes was able to teach you the basics of etiquette," he said. "As for your questions, I would prefer if you save them for later. Right now, I have to assist these two, but you can come along if you're interested. The more the merrier, and all that."

Turning his attention to the two now, the Bount had sensed that their bodies were wreaked with the souls of the specialized hollow scorpions they had managed to kill. The combined power was so strong that those sensitive enough to it could even smell the thick air of alchemical energy that emanated from them. It was just Ky had been hoping for.

"I see you've killed quite a few hollows. Would you mind if we put that new found stench of yours to good use? I need testers for my experimental equipment and, as opportunity would have it, there has been increased hostile activity all over the planet, but Karakura Town is the nearest. Would you like to raise some hell?"

Having asked that question, Ky continued. "Of course, you will get compensated for your services and I shall be there to personally oversee things. Not only would you defend human lives, but also, kick some serious a**."
PostPosted: Tue Mar 16, 2010 4:59 pm

"Experimental..?! Equipment..?! We're in!"Before the other half of the team was even allowed to react, Herieo had decided on there decision. They were gonna be experiment testers! Something told'em he was gonna be experimenting with something dangerous too! Sure, he didn't know what the hell Ky was talking about with this whole 'Stench' thing.. Sure, he felt kinda different, and could feel a trace of odd energy lining his body but he'd only suspected this was what it felt like when the Shinigami upgraded to a new level, like in all those cools tat based videogames he horded on. he expected the smell to wear away, like a shell or sheet, and then bam.. He'd be stronger. He was oblivious, however, to the fact that things didn't work like that at all. It was the simple fact that he was extraordinarily naive that made him oh so.. Stupid. "So whatta' we gotta do..?! We've been here a while, ( plot thread says three months says the "War" started. Does that mean a whole 1-3 months have passed since we've been doing plot stuff..? I wonder how long we've been here In-RP time) and I think it's bout' time we know at least a little bit of what's going on. What do I call this place we're in right now..? What about outside..? Whats this whole dimension called!?" The obviously curious child soon began blabbering on, launching question after question. Herieo continued to trail with words, comments, and concerns.. No sign of letting up in the coming three million, eighty two days, seven minutes, and twenty eight seconds. Nope. surely not before that time were to pass.

Ky Die Verrater

((This is pre-war. After my post, we'll go to earth an you two will be magically good at using that plot-centered broadsword Ky gave you and Soujiro will have a plot-centered broadsword too. Better hurry up though, we've already lost so much valuable time waiting for each other to post.))

Ky tried his best to hold back from killing the noisy youth out of sheer exasperation of his mindless blabbering and relentless barrage of childish, yet logical, questions. After hearing a good amount of it, Ky decided that he had had enough and answered the boy in a stern voice like any iron-blooded disciplinarian would, but not before raising his own spiritual energy to an extent that those around him knew that he was not a man who wanted to be interrupted when speaking.

"You're going to work for me," Ky answered the first question.

"That's because you made me wait for you," he answered the second time.

"You're here because I wanted you to be here because you two have the potential to become powerful chess pieces in my little game," said Ky for the third time.

"Everything you see before you is part of my own personal fortress inside a larger fortress known as Las Noches. It's called Fort Enbrasse, or was, at least," he answered for the fourth and final question.

Having sufficiently answered the boy's inquiries in his opinion, Ky turned around slowly and faced up a painting of himself that hung several inches above the wooden door which supposedly lead to the fort's throne room. "Initiate drive sequence! We're going to earth right now!" the Bount leader shouted before turning his head back to the substitute shinigami and said, "You better hold on to something if you aren't used to a bit of surprise turbulence."

Without prior warning, the entire fort shook as if it were being rocked by a small earthquake. The sound of falling rocks, crumbling earth, and loud and random crashes filled the halls with their noise before the sound of loud humming replaced all the chaotic sounds from before. Accompanying that humming was the sound of air currents rushing, similar to the ones a person hears when inside an airplane. The feeling of the shifting weight, similar to what someone feels during flight, could also be heard. From all of those, it wouldn't take a genius to figure out they were flying.

"Gentlemen, welcome aboard the biggest alchemy-powered aerial heavy assault weapons platform in existence."

A computerized female voice soon spoke through the large speakers that were located all over the fortress shortly after the end of Ky's own. It said, "Particle Transmutation ready in one minute."

"The epitome of all my research in alchemical energy here in Las Noches. While I called this place Fort Enbrasse before, with respect to my favorite character from Hamlet, Fortinbras, it does have a name. It's true name."

"Alchemical drive shafts 1 to 20 active. Initiating solid matter conversion."

"KyCorp Aerial A.R.M.S. Fort, Avalon," Ky announced with a proud smile.

"Conversion complete. Hyper-space Alchemical Teleportation Sequence Initiated."

The entire fortress shone bright red with alchemical power and transmuted itself into pure energy. The giant mass of energy then shot up into the sky with a force so great that it ripped a small hole in the dimensional fabric in the same manner as an arrancar's garganta would where the only difference was, instead of closing up after itself, the entry point breaks up like pieces of glass and disappears. Yet again this was just another feat made possible by Jes' generous act of allowing Ky to stay in Las Noches while, at the same time, study her subordinates.
