Nero oogled the box of markers he was handed, "Wh-whazzis?" Axel peered over, "Markers. For coloring your worksheets." He took one and demonstrated on a blank sheet of paper. The scorpion boy took on into hand and then took his worksheet and tried mimicking the older male. It was hard for him- all of his arms moved with the one that was coloring, and his claw made it hard to grip... He gave up after awhile, and just went to scribbling as he went through his worksheets. He'd missed most of the classes because he'd caught the flu early on, so now he was making up his work. It was all due next class, after all. He huffed after he was done, and was about to set down the marker. He accidentally squeezed it too tightly and his claw snapped it entirely in half. He stared down at the brown color dribbling over his claw from the broken utensil. "U-umn..." Axel came out from behind, chuckling, "Ah, let's go get you cleaned up, huh?" He eyed the worksheets. "Those are very good. Now come on."

It's been a tiring few days. My brother's been watching Nero for me while I'm out; they're getting along really well. My brother says that it seems like Nero's really attatched to me and doesn't like being seperated. Poor kid, I feel bad being out working all the time.
My brother says maybe I should start doing less jobs. It'd be better for me and for Nero.
I think I might agree.

A child is expected to know certian things at certian ages. In order to obtain rights to their Dragon(egg), they must prove they can meet these requirements. The following sheet is for your child to fill out, with mild help from their guardian, then sent back to D-corp. (PM ot the mule) Also any changes, even minor such as haircuts, should be reported to the D-corp to be logged and filed. Thankyou, The Boss.

We're going to get the egg... I can't believe it. I feel as if I just got the little twerp... Yesterday. He was little nervous, wide eyed toddler. Now he's a nervous, wide-eyed kid. And they're giving him a dragon.
I think I'm feeling- dare I say it- nervous myself? Me, nervous? Crazy, I know. Maybe this is what that parenting thing is about... Geez, I hate being nervous.
But I don't want him hurt.

[Are We There Yet?] Axel lowered his newspaper to find two large, black eyes peering up at him. "Can I help you?" Nero scuttled back under the table sheepishly, into his makeshift fort that he'd turned it into. His guardian nudged him with a foot, "What're you up to, squirt?" He watched as those eyes peered out at him again, and then a chin was resting on his knee. "U-um... N-nothin'." His caretaker lifted his eyebrows and the little scorpion boy bit into his lower lip lightly. "U-um.. W-wasn't i-it t-today?" "Wasn't what today?" Axel asked calmly, returning his attention to the newspaper. "M-my.. M-my egg..?" The older male let out a slow breath, as if he'd just been punched in the gut. "A-and... J-Jekel w-was gonna..." "Not time yet, buddy." Axel moved a hand to ruffle the little guy's hair reassuringly. "We'll be going in-" He peered at the clock, scritching behind his ear idly, "-an hour." His ward ducked back out of sight. He sighed softly. This was not something he was looking forward to. About ten minutes later that green face popped up again, "D-daddy?" "Mnn?" "I-is it t-time y-yet?" Axel sighed. "It's only been ten minutes, kiddo." "Oh." ----- "Almost time to go, bud." Axel had set his newspaper aside and was now scooping up the child and dragging him from his fort and hoisting him up in the air. Nero grinned excitedly and then laughed as he became airborn, wrapping his humanoid arms around his guardian's neck, tail waving behind him merrily. The older of the two smiled warmly, "Let's go get you ready, alright?" He got a nod in response. He then hoisted the child up higher, so that his belly was resting on his shoulder. The scorpion's legs flailed behind him, claws clasping at the back of his father's shirt. "H-hey!" Axel laughed and ran the short distance between the kitchen and Nero's room at full speed, "I've got you now, kid. Let's see what I'll do with you." The boy laughed and kicked slightly, moving with suprising flexibility as he bent his legs forward. His feets rested on his father's shoulder now, and he kicked off slightly so that he moved onto the older male's back, holding on by his extra arms. Axel chuckled and shifted, trying to swipe the boy up but to no avail. Nero sure had inherited the scorpion's climbing and scurrying abilities. The child hopped down and ran to take cover in his room. Axel, who had stopped just outside the door, watched as it slammed in his face. He shook his head and smiled to himself before going to get ready himself. --- Axel was finally coming to get the boy, knocking on the door beside his own idly, "Hey, squirt, time to go." No answer. He waited awhile longer before testing the doorknob- unlocked. He poked on in, but saw to Nero. He smiled slyly. He knew this game by now. He crept quietly into the room, "Oh where could that little twerp be? I'm sure he hid in here. What'll I eat up for dinner if I don't find that boy?" He heard what seemed to be muffled laughter. Kids couldn't keep quiet, could they? He smiled to himself. He then spent a good deal more time than was needing 'searching' for the child. When he was peering into the closet the scorpion moved with surprising stealth from beneath the bed and flung himself upon his caretaker. Axel yelped in surprise, wobbling and then eventually falling to his knees. He looked to the shrimp in shock, but was met with only a bright smile. "G-gotcha!" He was stunned for a few more moments before he grabbed the boy up and promptly began giving him a noogie, "Oh yeah, who got who?" His ward laughed and tried to wrestle himself from the older one's grasp. Moments later they were off the floor, both heading for the car. After a short while driving, Axel felt the unnerving feeling that one got when they were being stared at. He offered but a mere glance towards the back seats, "What're you looking at?" Nero started, "N-nothing, s-sorry!" He quickly looked away. Silence followed for a little while. "What're you thinking about, kiddo?" "W-well..." Axel smiled some- he knew there was SOMETHING. "What is it? Spit it out." "A-Are w-we there y-yet?" His guardian took on a blank look.. "Does it look like we're there yet?" Nero flinched, "N-no, s-sorry!" And looked down towards his green, sandal-clad feet. Axel sighed to himself, waited a few moments, and then at a stop light he gave a small jerk of his head. "Get up here, you. Wanna try your hand at the wheel?" The scorpion child's eyes lit up, and he scrambled up and plopped himself in his caretaker's lap, and Axel allowed him to think that he was actually driving. That is, until they finally did get there. [To Be Continued]

Well, Nero has his egg... Maybe he can handle this after all. I can only hope, I guess...
Saw Bree there. She was looking at some guy- I think someone told me he's a teacher. I dunno, I just think I heard it somewhere.. Oh well, I guess it's none of my business. We aren't going steady or anything. She can fool around with whoever she wants... Um... I guess.
Geez, look at me, whining about my problems like some hormonal school girl. And this things supposed to be about Nero, too.
Well, the good news- I got Nero a sleepover. It'll be good for him, he only has one real friend.. It makes me feel bad, kind of, like I'm responsible. Ah well. He seems happy enough.
Even better news, I got ME a sleepover. Which means I better get going.

You will receive a series of vaccinations to protect against things such as chickenpox, mumps, and other common childhood diseases. Along with things your child's DNA would need. Rabies shots for example if they have a chance on getting that.
Do not worry about the late issue of these shots, Dcorp will take all the nessicary precautions to make sure this delay will not cause any problems.
Please contact Dcorp (PM the mule) to make an appointment.
Thankyou.

Let's do the TIMEWARP again... ((The next few logs will be describing the events that have taken place during the strange disapearance of our scorpion boy and his caretaker, as well as the return.)) Nero was laying sprawled out on his belly in the frontyard, watching as the bugs crept across the grass and flitted up into the air, head resting sideways on one of his main arms. His sandy blonde mop of hair falling forward into his face. He let out a content sigh, feeling the warmth of the sun caressing his back. It was a nice day, he thought to himself before letting all of his eyes drift lazily to a close. The buzz of a lone cicada picked up, and rang through the air. It was very nice.. The boy began to feel sleep weighing heavily upon him, and embraced it happily. This was certainly a nice place for a nap. He gave a tiny yawn and his body unconsciously began to curl into some form of the fetal position. Meanwhile, back inside the house, Axel was situated at the table with some sort of strange gadget laying out before him. He was staring at it thoughtfully, brows furrowed and his fingers itching across his jawline. He then picked up his screwdriver and began working at it, releasing an exhasperated puff of air from his nose. What would it take to make this thing work? Obviously the idea alone was not enough.. His head slowly lifted as the distant jingle of the phone ringing met his ears. He accepted the break with open arms, setting down his work and moving to a stand. His hands automatically smoothed down his hair and then found rest in his pockets as he stalked towards the sound of ringing. He soon found the phone resting on the counter, not quite where it should be. He pondered who used it last as he lifted it, staring at the caller ID for a few moments. Who was this a*****e calling him? He sighed and hit the talk button, placing the phone against his ear. "Hello?" The scorpion boy was awakened by a tickly feeling, and as his eyes cracked open he found strange designs all up against his face. He jerked backwards with a soft yelp, and watched as a butterfly fluttered away from his face. He wiped at his nose with a claw, watching it was wide and awe-filled eyes. It was very pretty, and not at all scary like he thought it was only moments ago. He yawned and stretched out all of his skinny appendages before pushing himself to his feet. That was a nice nap... He smiled at the feel of warmth collected on his skin from the sun. What to do now? He wandered over to the tire swing, and threw his body into it, stomach laying flat across it. The rest of him drooped down, and he took a look at the world from this new upside-down angle before beginning to push himself a little, watching everything spin. He hoped his dad would finish working soon, so that maybe they could go play. He stopped for a moment as he spotted something exiting the house, but lost interest when he saw it was only his nasty little dragon Kei. That very same dragon crept along the grasses, stopping at his usual nap spot before flopping down. It wasn't nearly hot enough for him out here, but it was better than inside. That big human had left the door closed for Kei's special heated room, so now he couldn't get into it. Stupid human. He let out a soft hiss before closing his eyes. And all was peaceful outside. Inside, however, Axel was slumped against the counter, listening intently to whatever the other person on the phone happened to be telling him. He occasionally would mumble a, "Yeah..." but for the most part kept silent. After awhile, he turned to look out the window overlooking his yard, watching as his charge spun in the tireswing. "Well, ********, are you sure...?... Yeah... Well, I guess we don't really have a choice, then... We'll... Meet you. Yeah. If there's no other way..." Silence on both ends for a moment. "Alright.. I'll call you when we leave for the rendez-vous point. Bye." His thumb swiftly tapped the 'End' button. He rested his forehead in his palm, taking in a deep breath... This wouldn't end well, he knew it.. "ugh." He dropped the phone and walked to the front door, poking his head outside, "Nero, Kei! Time to come inside. We're going on a... Trip. Come inside and get packed."

[Timewarp] The trip in the van was long and tedious. Nero was curled up on the three back seats lining the back, covered in blankets and lounging on a mass amount of pillows. He seemed to be sleaping quite peacefully, his dragon companion sharing the other half of the space. His guardian was seated on the floor, jotting things down into a notebook and occasionally glancing out the from window. It was dark outside now. He let out a quiet sigh and closed his eyes. Maybe he could take a little break... They'd been on the road for three days now, with the occasional food-and-stretch stop. It wasn't the first time he'd travelled like this- but at the same time, it was. Because now they had two more mouths to feed than they used to. "'Ey." He turned his head to look towards the driver's seat, eyes resting placidly upon his brother, the man who had made the noise. "What?" The older man turned his scarred face back slightly, glancing with tired eyes upon the younger of the two siblings, "You sure this is a good idea? I've got a bad feeling." Axel nodded, "It's the only way..." "I can't believe they found him... We don't even know where the ******** he is." "We never looked." Axel leaned back against the side of the car, rubbing at one of his temples lightly. "********.. If this is the only way..." "Yeh." "You know it's not even us I care about..." "Yeh." The black-and-green haired male glanced towards his sleeping charge in the manner of a worrisome father, which for once in his life he was. "But I have to keep him safe." The two brothers had been playing with death since they were little, they feared no harm coming onto them. Whatever happened, happened, and they could avoid pretty much everything that they needed to. This time, however, the odds were a little different. "Think he'll get lonely? He won't be able to see any of his friends." The larger man grunted, "He'll be fine." "Yeah... Guess you're right.." A grin temporarily broke on his face, "Think I'll get lonely?" "You'll find... Company.. I'm sure. You always do." Axel chuckled, "Yeah, suppose you're right. They're no Bree, though." His brother shook his head, "Don't get too attatched. You know we can't do that." "Yeah, I know. Don't worry.. I don't get attatched. YOU know I don't do that. She just gives really go-" "Don't wanna know." Axel laughed. "Right.." Three pairs of eyes were suddenly open and staring at them, one belonging to a dragon and the other two to a sleepy scorpion boy. "D-daddy?" He yawned and stretched. "W-we alm-almost there y-yet?" His caretaker moved back to ruffle his hair, "Yeah. Almost.. Almost."

[Timewarp] Nero sat in the motel room, wide black eyes staring blankly out the window, as they had been for the past few hours. He was completely immobile, as if he were a statue rather than a young boy. His dragon was staring at him bemusedly, tail flicking about behind him, tongue poking out to lick over his eye. They had been in this place for much longer than they had thought, most of the time alone. Sometimes they would awaken during the night to see a few dark figures moving about, but Nero could never stay awake long enough to strike up conversation. During the day he watched T.V. and stared out the window, or blasted the crummy radio on the alarm clock. He crawled back to one of the beds and flopped onto it, letting out a small sigh. It was a lonely existance, being stuck here. Very lonely. Kei crept over and for once did no act of violence upon the child, rather, he placed his head lightly on the collapsed child's shoulder and let out a soft crooning noise. That meant he was hungry. The green lad popped up, "O-Okay, K-kei... I'll g-get something. St-stay here, o-okay?" He didn't need that troublemaker tailing him without Axel around to reprimand him when he got out of hand. He slipped off the bed and onto his feet, stretching out all of his appendages languidly. He then walked to where he caretaker had left money, being careful not to accidentally cut the fragile bills with his claws. He counted them silently, and then moved towards the door. "B-be right back. L-lock the d-door beh-behind me." And with that he was out. His dragon obediantly lifted himself, strolled over to the door, and snapped the lock shut with his muzzle. Nero was inserting the dollar bill carefully into the machine when he caught the sound of footsteps. His head jerked around hopefully, all four eyes lighting up with the hope of seeing his guardian or uncle... But alas, it was a stranger.. A sense of dread filled him simply by looking upon him. What was this feeling? He swallowed heavily and ducked back behind the machine, closing his eyes tightly. Clunk, clunk, clunk. The sound of the scary man walking stopped. Nero peered uncertainly down towards where he had last heard the noise. Right infront of their room. He watched as the man rattled the doorknob, knocked, glanced around, and then slid something in the crack beneath the door. And then started walking again. The boy cringed. He was walking towards him. The scorpion curled back against the side of the machine, trying to hide himself as best as possible, burrying his face in his knees. He'd seen a gun at the man-in-black's waist, hidden partially by his shirt. Clunk clunk clunk. Here it came. Clunk clunk clunk. Nero held his breath.

[Timewarp] Nero lay face-down in his bedding, tremors still running down his back as a result of the sheer terror he was feeling. Kei was oblivious to the boy's distress, and was happily downing a bag of pretzels- container and all, filling the otherwise silent room with the sound of tearing. The scorpion closed his eyes tightly, trying to shut out the heavy smell of blood that came with his claws and was now stuck on the bedding. If he were able to cry, he would most certainly be doing so now. The sound of footsteps stopped before the machine, and when Nero peered around cautiously he saw a pair of black boots. He lifted his eyes nervously, allowing them to rest on the hard face of the stranger, who had yet to notice him. He swallowed heavily and pressed back against the wall, tail unconsciously curling behind him. This was bad. He could feel it throbbing through every ounce of his being. Pure fear. He grit his teeth and held his breath, but to no avail. Moments later, the man let out a sudden grunt of discovery.
The man in black shifted, looking straight down at the pathetic little boy, regarding him with cold gray eyes. "You..." The kid looked suspicious. He was panicking for no apparant reason- he must know something. As soon as it clicked, he stooped forward and grabbed ahold of one of the lad's skinny and frail-seeming arms. "Yer comin' with me..."
Nero snapped at that, jerking backwards, "N-NO! D-DON'T, D-D-DON'T T-TOUCH M-ME!" He attempted to wriggle free, but the man's hand was strong over his arm.
"Hey, kid, calm down.." "N-NO!"
As the older male was trying to force him to his feet, the little green fellow lashed out with his free claw, virtually tearing open the stranger's face. He earned a startled and pained cry, as well as his freedom. He jumped to his feet and ran as quickly as his short legs would carry him, and soon found himself in the middle of nowhere. He collapsed then, chest convulsing in something similar to sobbing. He stared in disgust at the blood covering his claw, but remained immobile for a good while.
As soon as he had gathered enough energy, he stumbled back to the vending machine. He tapped the pretzel button. Out popped a bag. He picked it up and trudged back to the room, trembling.Nero had finally managed to lull himself to partial sleep when he heard the door beginning to open. Had he locked it? He jolted upright, pressing his tiny frame back against the wall his bed was pressed against. He immediately recognized the entering figures, and broke down. "D-daddy!" In less than a second he was attatched to the older man's hip, face nestled in his stomach, shudders wrenching through his little body. Axel was startled, "Hey, little guy.. Why're you up so la-" He was interrupted by a nudge from his brother. "What?" "Lookit that." He did so, and saw the blood staining his child's claw. He took in a deep breath. "What happened, you?" He pulled the boy back a bit, so as to look in his eyes. Nero's lower lip trembled. And then he broke down again and told him everything. His uncle stooped over to pick up an envelope on the floor, and regarded it grudgingly, and Axel looked to him in a disheartened manner. "Seems like this is getting serious, huh?..." He sighed, and then smiled at the boy that was still clinging to him for dear life, "I'm gonna teach you something, okay buddy? To keep you safe. We'll start tomorrow. For now, let's just get to bed, okay?" Nero nodded silently, and his father lifted him up and carried him to bed, and in less than five minutes he was out. ".. Poor kid, he shouldn't have to go through this." "Yeh, but he doesn't got much choice, huh? No more'n us." ".. True.."

[Timewarp] The days got slighty less tedious- Axel was around for a few hours, teaching Nero in the art of self defense... And most importantly, how to throw a good closed-claw punch. Apparantly throwing one with an open claw, like he had done, caused too much damage. His caretaker seemed genuinely surprised at the strength his scrawny arms and claws held, and soon they had to work on trees rather than eachother to make sure neither got hurt. The scorpion was much more of a formidable opponent than he had suspected, and was well pleased with how quickly he was learning. Nero had a quick, flexible body and a wonderful lunge. He was still clumsy as hell, but he was trying. He was determined. And in him, the older man saw the raw animal instinct of survival. It made a good fighter, he thought to himself pleasantly. And the best part? His child was so easy-going and laid back, and passive in general. He'd do no harm with what he was learning unless he had to. It was reassuring, really. He wouldn't be picking him up from jail for streetfights, at least. His skin was extraordinarily tough, as well, and he could work against the tree for hours on end before growing tired. Axel watched silently as the lad forcefully slammed his closed claw and then fist into the tree, letting out a harsh huff of breath as he did so. He saw the wood splinter. "That's enough for today, kiddo. I gotta get going." The disapointment on the boy's face was heartwrenching, so he turned away in an attempt to appear unmoved, holding his usual placid facade. "Let's get inside." --- Nero was once again alone in the motel room with his dragon, staring blankly at the dull glow of the television as it cut through the darkness. He glanced at the clock. It was already 3am. Where were they? They were later than usual. He felt a bit of restlessness growing inside of his heart, and pretty soon he was outside, dueling the tree ferociously. It was something to do, atleast... And he could feel himself begin to grow stronger as he mastered all of these new techniques. And then, an hour later, he was passed out in bed, worry settled in his stomach like a rock. Where were they?
