Meriko Query for Peter~ Did you want any chat with Merro or will you catch up with her later? Sure. I've got something in mind, but I was trying to get my uniform in mind first. Speaking of, I like the start of your uniform ideas. Maybe we could, instead of wool pullover, have a jacket similar to these? http://materix01.files.wordpress.com/2009/03/vampire-knight-cosplay1.jpg I was thinking maybe I show some of the stragglers to their first class. Or maybe homeroom is intermingled? I'm fishin for ideas. @_@

Meriko Query for Konami~ Is the school not only the repository for magical knowledge but also a place where it is practiced? I want to have Merro cast a scrying spell to try and make sure the coast is clear for her to cast a more blatant spell, and I want to figure out what results she'll get. Would it be within the realm of plausibility if she senses at least a hint of magic permeating the entire grounds? Yes. While the primary purpose for allowing magical beings/users into the school is to help protect the knowledge, training of said guardians would be necessary. Several faculty members are secret magic trainers. If she can sense magic, she'll be able to sense fellow magic users (unless they have some sort of blocking item/spell, which some might), but not the library underground. That's very well shielded. Letalus himself has a complete lack of magical aura, thanks to his current construct. Unfortunately, he also lacks any NORMAL aura that normal humans would give off, so if she can sense that... Quote: Would she or Hiroaki be able to sniff out the boundaries of the paling that keeps Letalus on campus? Is the library a self-contained building that's locked up or a basement level of one of the buildings warded so that no one can actually find it even if they're standing right in front of the doors, or...? Probably not immediately. It's one of those things you don't notice unless you look for it, and no one would think to look for a barrier that only affects one person, I don't think. The magical library? It spans the whole of the grounds underneath. It's huge. There are several ways in through out the campus, but they're only accesible via magical means -- spellsight, specific door summoning spells, ect. Except one. Through Flamel's office. So, you know...it's possible a normal human could squeeze through, if they could get past some guards. ninja Also, that jacket looks awesome. *A* Homeroom could be intermingled with class if you want. surprised Whatever you guys want to do, I'll be fine with.

Peter: *clicks link* Do love! @_@ That actually looks somewhat reminiscent of my other uniform idea. It was much more "military uniform" in nature. I'll see if I can whip up another set of mocks this weekend for your review. <3
*ponders over Konami's info* Gotcha. I imagine with incoming students being potential magic wielders, the faculty would take care to shield themselves in one way or the other. Of course human nature and clumsiness can also come into play. XD
And oh, intermingled homerooms! Gad, I'm so linear and trapped-inside-the-box. x_x It never occurred to me that there could be mixed-year homerooms. That's a fantastic idea, you guys. ^^
Peter, if you want, feel free to have your chara notice mine looking "need help"-ish. XD She can be looking at her student info packet and trying to figure out where to head for homeroom. She's got a map of the campus memorized but she could need help re-orienting herself, after all. I've written out what she'll do once she gets into the classroom but I haven't figured out how to play out getting her there.

No problem then. This can help us interact a bit more, having 1-3 years mingle in homeroom, then seniors are separate?
Lemme cook up something and I'll post before going to work tonight.

Looks awesome. Maybe just MO, but perhaps tailoring a bit to conforming the uniform more to the body would be out of the question?
(Likes slenderish type >.> )
Sooooo.... Maybe all years are mixed into subject homerooms. We could have art, or I could be applying for magic this year.... Hmmmm.... the possibilities.
Edit: This post should be under Meri's........
Why are you so screwy?

Posts both in the guilds and out in the forums are a bit wonky at the moment. The latests posts are appearing at the top of the last page or even replacing the original post, and post histories are borked as well. ^^;
I imagine there'll be a fix sooner rather than later but it's confusing at the moment.
[edit] Oh, and sure, I can fit the clothing more to her body. Was there any one particular set/variation that you liked the most? Konami?

I do like the angled hem of your third jacket style, Meri. And I like the other aspects of the second jacket type. But, yes, I do think all-in-all I prefer a blazer as opposed to a pullover for a winter uniform. As for a summer uniform, maybe a vest in keeping with the angled hem idea? I dunno.
But I do love all this art. *O*

Advice please? I thought the magical aspect of CLAMP was a secret, judging from Konami's description in the info/profiles thread, but Peter's latest post makes it seem like there's both a public magical aspect plus the super-secret library.
I wanted to get clarity before posting and possibly editing Merro's profile. If she's openly enrolled in a magic-user's class then her family can't be as uptight as I set them up to be. *laugh*

XD Perhaps it is secretive, but my character is blunt about it? He usually speaks his mind, and while he does not understand everything of that part of the school, he's been around long enough to some of the people and classes involved.
You could also see it as him trying to bridge a communications gap, where some people are tight-lipped about the whole process, he is not.
Maybe that will help a bit? You could always shrug it off, or if needed I can change that part of the text to just include it as my homeroom.

Oh, okie dokie. ^^ I read too much into it. *hee*
This works. I can still keep Merro's profile as-is. It's not like her family will kill her if she lets the cat out of the bag (which is how I had originally written them *lol*). She'll be nervous though, which could work out to the RP's advantage as she'll feel like she needs to keep an eye on/watch out for him. XD

Sure thing! ^^ In fact you can probably get proof if you want to seat your chara near her and make him keen-eyed at the right moment. She'll want to cast a spell to sniff out the room once everyone's seated, and if he just happens to be close and looking, he might see something interesting. X3

*rolls for observation skills* XD
1-5, nothing. 6-8, light. 9-10, everything.
[edit] Woo, 8. *goes to advance Merro to the doors of the classroom and then waits for the dramatic introduction of Bri's chara(s)*
