Lazarus's demonic eyes narrowed as he watched the magma sprung out to protect the Frei's skin. So the young Frei has some tricks up his sleeves eh? It doesn't matter, Lazarus was ready. He was unwavering, never moving from his victorious spot as Zul advanced. When Zul's magma coated hand lurched forwards towards him, he met it with his own clawed hand, burning fire scorching from his palm through his fingers. However he did not see the lower arm that came for his ribs until it was too late.
Bending forwards violently, Lazarus let out a grunt as the rock hard fist crashed into his ribs. His grip on the other's hand tighten as a dark spot formed immediately where the Frei had hit, bruising him successfully. How dare he hurt my perfect body! Without raising his head, the Sigel gripped onto Zul's gloved wrist with his remaining hand. He hissed menacingly as he raised his head, blood-shot yellow eyes meeting dark orbs as his breath turned to hot steam upon exhalation. Taking aim, the Sigel rammed his head at the Frei's lower jaw. He didn't wait for the demon to recover as he released the gripping hand, though not the one on his wrist. Backing away swiftly he gripped the wrist with both his hands and swung the Frei into a wall.
When Kyou arrived at the doorway, he was horrified beyond imagination, both from the fact that Alex is now stuck behind the barrier and the ensuing fight from within. Even with the magical wall between them, Kyou could feel the negative and burning energy vibrating all around. For a moment Kyou just stood there, eyes transfixed upon the clash of the demons.
But Alex's screams brought him back to his senses. "ALEX!!" Kyou shouted as he crouched down quickly. "I'll get you out of there now!" He will need to act fast! Opening the first aid kit, he took out the alcohol and quickly splash some onto his fingers. Then he reached around through the barrier towards the wall beside the door's wooden frame where the red markings are. He quickly rubbed the alcohol onto the marking to erase it as he kept an eye on the fight, hoping the demons wouldn't notice what he was doing. As part of the red line of marking disappeared, the invisible wall gave way and disappeared as well. The barrier is no longer standing.

Xiu was checking on the raevan tanks, as instructed, every three hours, when it all happened. The building shook. Red eyes lifted from the clipboard to look at their surroundings quizzically. Was an earthquake happening?
Then there was the roar…
Every inch of the white frei stiffened as Xiu gave a soft growl. What was that demon and his demon tainted Doctor up to know? It had been a couple of days since the frei was quarantined in the lab and the Doctor’s lack of progress was making the white frei very impatient. With an impatient shake of his head, Xiu returned to his work at data taking when…
A HUGE wave of demonic aura swept through the lab and the sheer intensity of it made Xiu gasp. Dropping the clipboard, the white frei hastened towards the room where Lazarus was held. Hot, the room was searing hot!
And the Doctor, he was shouting something or rather, someone’s name. A woman’s screaming was heard. Xiu’s pace quickened and when the frei finally reached the room, the sight that greeted him was…alarming.
Lazarus was in a one to one combat with Zul and the both of them were at each with murderous intent. Which, oddly enough, did not bother Xiu overly much. In fact, the white frei found himself smirking slightly at the scene. “Like savages,” the white frei muttered, clearly delighted that the two raevans were attacking each other with such crude methods. There was nothing refined about the way the two of them were brutishly beating the life out of each other.
But…red eyes darted to the two humanoid figures crouching low to the ground. “Alex? Kyou?” Not caring so much about the Doctor but rather for Alex’s safety, the white frei hurried over to offer what assistance he could. The two demonic raevans could kill themselves for all he cared but the human must not be harmed.

The flames licking up his hand did nothing to stop the wicked, malicious grin that nearly split his face in half with his toothy expression. The satisfying connection of his fist to the Sigel's stomach was a delicious feeling; the hardened magma churned over his knuckles to ensure that bruise. To mark him. To remind Lazarus that he had crossed the demon and had not gotten out unscathed. In the Frei's mind, he had already won, and the rest became a game.
Zul's long tongue snaked out as the elder Raevan hissed at him, drinking of the raw steam that came from the Incubi's anger. It re-energized him, made him feel stronger, although he didn't know if it was Lazarus' magic or rage that fueled his own inexorable feeling of violence. If Lazarus was the flame, then he was the moth. A molten, demonic moth, but one all the same.
His sharp teeth clacked soundly together when the top of Lazarus' head connected with his jaw, nearly taking off his tongue. Even then, the hard magma crawled up his throat and jaw, giving him the appearance of a skeletal elemental with his wide, devious grin and blood seeping from his eyes. The Frei found himself suddenly airborne, launched towards a wall, but something else had already happened. Zul felt a sort of switch in him, something wild and unbridled that flickered to life in the heat of their battle. He liked this. He wanted more!
Zul's wings heaved strong and fast, not stopping his trip but allowing himself to throw his ribbon up to meet the wall. He sunk into it to his rune, which angrily seared the wall and sent charred flakes and molten bits spewing everywhere before he launched himself back at Lazarus. There was no pain in his heightened senses, only a sheer, perverse joy of battle. The demon opened his mouth and laughed, a shrill sound of cracking bones and sharp static. The molten armor fell long enough to reveal a large, ugly bruise and dried blood on his face before a fresh wave replaced it, fashioned into spikes that weeped fresh magma. The encrusted lava gave him claws, and it was with this that he lunged at Lazarus, wanting to see what else the Sigel was capable of.
The Italian found herself utterly forgotten in the battle, and she could not have been happier. "I'm so sorry!" she whispered feverishly as Kyou came behind her, back still pressed against the barrier. Once it went down, she stumbled back and over Kyou himself; as Alex extended her bloody arms to stop herself from falling, she collided with something else entirely unexpected.
"Xiu?" she practically wheezed her surprise, wide green eyes searching the Frei's face. He...did not...look good. Were his eyes red?! And here she was, bleeding and raw... Crap. "Xiu, are you okay?" she forced her numb lips to ask, blinking rapidly against the dryness of her eyes and not yet releasing the white Frei. "What are you doing here?" She had to distract him, couldn't let him go in there or draw attention away from the demons; if Kyou didn't get that barrier back up, all Hell WOULD break loose!

A satisfied smile spread across his lips as he watched the Frei smashed into the wall. He had never fought like this before, but with every swing of fist, and every hit taken, he had slowly grown to enjoy the heat of the battle. Lazarus's smile widen when the Frei reformed his magma armor into something even more malicious. It doesn't matter to the Sigel, whatever Zul does will be useless, because he knew he is more powerful than the much younger Frei.
When Zul lunged at him with his claws, Lazarus was ready. Swiftly the Sigel ducked under, the claws just barely scratching over his large horns. Then with all his might, he lunged at the Frei from below, the top of his head collapsing into Zul's jaw again and his horns lifting the demonic Frei's arm from below. This time however, Lazarus wasn't going to stop his barrage of attacks so soon. As Zul fell backwards Lazarus reached up to grab one of his arms, then swiftly turning over until his back faced the Frei and his arm over the Sigel's shoulder, Lazarus pulled Zul over his shoulder and slammed him onto the floor.
Lazarus stood victoriously over the fallen Frei, looming over him as he flashed his malicious toothy grin down at him.
Good, they are still fighting! Kyou quickly made his move as Alex got out successfully, he has no intention of staying long inside the barrier as the brutal fight continued on. The upper half of his body is in the room now as he stared at the marking on the wall, he bit into his finger. Using the dripping blood, he quickly redrawn and reconnect the chain of red markings on the wall. Within a few seconds, the barrier was up again and Kyou quickly withdraw his body from the battlefield.
The scientist let out a gasp of relief as he slumped onto the opposite wall, panting from the adrenaline rush. "The barrier is back up." he said simply as he wiped the sweat on his forehead with his sleeve.

Xiu staggered a little as the weight of the falling woman came into contact with him. Red eyes scanned the human and Xiu was surprised to see the severity of the wounds of the woman. Looking up, Xiu realized that Alex was staring at him or rather his eyes with what could possibly be fear. The frei’s temper rose slightly. Did…Alex think that he was a blood thirsty beast or something?
“I am fine, Alex,” Xiu answered curtly. “Merely quarantined by the Doctor,”
At the mention of being quarantined, red eyes shifted to stare accusingly at the Doctor who was feverishly attempting to complete the barrier. It was all thanks to the Doctor that Xiu’s eyes were red like this. What with him being unable to head out to feed and…the lack of innocence to feed off in the lab, Xiu was reduced to drinking blood as a means of sustainment. Of course that would mean that his eyes and rune weren’t able revert back to their original colour…
"The barrier is back up."
Xiu watched as the slumped onto the opposite wall with relief before turning to watch the fight that was occurring within the barrier. The Sigel seemed to be winning. Xiu guessed that he could live with one less demon in the world for now. For now…
“Your wounds, they need to be treated,” said Xiu returning to Alex. The woman was clinging onto him but whether it was for support or prevent him from doing something reckless Xiu couldn’t tell. Nevertheless, the white frei guessed that it would be alright to alleviate part of the woman’s worry. “Hazeline has made me promised not to hurt anyone,”

As the shadow of the Sigel crossed over the floor-bound form of the Frei, Zul's grin parted and shrieked. His arm extended upwards rapidly, his reach far too low to actually touch Lazarus, but that wasn't a problem to the demon; magma spiraled up from his fingers to the Sigel, barely hardening in time before the tip purposely strayed and nicked the Incubi's cheek. Just as quickly, the magma receded into his hand, before the first welt of blood could be seen.
That excited the demon. Seeing harm befall the Sigel, harm he inflicted...it was powerful! He had to keep moving, though, or the game would end. Zul's free hand extended to grab the Sigel's ribbon in his hot grasp, pulling it down and using the leverage to pull himself upwards; the magma on the Frei's jaw slid up and over his own bruised face and over his brow, flattening and bending around his central horn like a giant shield. The fold of the hard rock connected solidly against the bruise on Lazarus' middle, the essence burning strongly beneath the surface to darken it! Deepen it! Make it spread until proof of his existence was etched in blood beneath the tan skin!
Zul roared with laughter, the sound not unlike glass shattering in the throes of an earthquake. The demon used his momentum to right himself and throw himself backwards, shedding his 'armor' to make himself momentarily lighter. His wings flapped to push himself upwards, fingers alight with lava again and hardening against the ceiling, suspending the demon in air like some perverse spider. The brackish blood from his eyes seeped around his razor blade grin, lining his mouth hideously. And there, rather than try to attack again - he waited.
You're not fine, then, came Alex's immediate thought, and only after she heard Kyou's voice declaring the barrier rebuilt did she let go of Xiu. She had to try and ignore the blood she'd left on him, especially if he wasn't under the effects of blood lust. Her green eyes turned over his face for a moment, prepared to refuse treatment until she heard the shriek. She knew who it belonged to when she felt her ears beginning to ache again, the weak scabs already breaking.
"No," she whispered, returning to the door frame and gripping it with blood-coated white knuckles, taking every inch of restraint in her not to throw herself back into the room. She stared in open horror at the way Zul watched Lazarus from the ceiling, feeling a cold pit in her stomach to realize that he wasn't...he wasn't fighting back! He was just antagonizing the Sigel!
Xiu and Kyou were completely forgotten. "ZUL, STOP IT!" she cried into the open door, every muscle tense in her body, panic and blood loss making her pale. "DON'T PISS HIM OFF! Please, stop!!"

The grin on Lazarus's lips disappeared as the sharp magma grazed his cheek. He thought the Frei was down for sure! But he was wrong. Blood dripping from the light wound quickly evaporated into a dark red steam as the body temperature of the Sigel rose some more. Another stream of smoke emitted from his mouth as he licked the dried blood from his cheek when he felt a tug on his ribbon. Caught by surprise, he quickly tried to intercept the head butt with his hands but he was a tad slower than the advancing Frei. "Aaaargh!!" The Sigel let out a strangled cry as Zul crashed into the bruise in his abdomen.
Lazarus couldn't ignore the pain any further at this point as the bruise visibly darken, the throbbing pain vibrating from its core. Pressing one warm hand onto the bruise, Lazarus raised his head to look at the Frei currently suspended on the ceiling, his eyes burning with hatred. That smile, that mocking grin. He swear he will knock that hideous smile off of his face.
Fire erupted from the Sigels palms again as he snarled at the demonic Frei, hissing through gritted teeth. Then with a mighty flap of his bony wings, Lazarus lunged forwards like a firey bullet. Grabbing onto one of Zul's wrist, Lazarus pulled it towards him breaking the harden lava from his hands. Then with the remaining arm Lazarus took a powerful firey swing into Zul's face. A sickening crack erupted when the Sigel's fist connected with the Frei's jaw.
But it doesn't stop there. Drawing back his arm again, the Sigel readies for another heavy blow into Zul's face. He is going to pummel the smile off of that face.
His attention was completely concentrated on the fight that Kyou didn't realized Xiu was there right beside him. The scientist let out a small gasp of shock as he quickly wiped the blood on his finger onto his lab coat, remembering the attack that happened right here in this corridor just a couple days ago.
However his attention was quickly distracted again as Alex got up and started shouting into the room. Getting up slowly, his eyes followed Alex's as he watched helplessly from beyond the invisible wall the war that raged within. He knew he needed to do something, to stop the fight. But at this moment he couldn't think of anything. A fight that intense, anyone that tries to butt in would definitely get hurt. He placed a hand on Alex's shoulder, gripping it firmly, both trying to calm her down and refraining her from bursting into the room again. Averting his eyes, the scientist refused to look as Lazarus landed punches into the Frei's face.

At the sound of the shriek, the while frei followed Alex’s gaze to the scene within the room. Zul’s not down yet, then thought the frei with a slight frown of dissatisfaction and unease. If the frei was capable of standing up this long to a Sigel, that would mean…
Zul would only grow to be a bigger threat in the future realized Xiu with a slight jolt of terror. Zul would be more dangerous. Inwardly, the white frei began hoping that the Sigel would kill the frei.
The sound of the small gasp that came from the Doctor as he quickly wiped away his blood just then made the frei frown. Did the Doctor really think he’d go against his promise to Hazeline. Xiu was far from happy at the manner in which the humans were treating him as though he was some sort of monster. The only monsters, in Xiu’s opinion, are the ones trapped behind that barrier.
As it was evident that neither Alex nor the Doctor was going to move away from the room, Xiu contented himself by observing the fight as well. The Doctor had a hand on Alex’s shoulder so there would be no opportunity for the woman to get herself caught within the barrier again after all.

As the fire sprung from his foe's fists, Zul felt a surge of excitement. Would the Sigel finally show him some fight? The demon didn't do so much as struggle when the angry Incubus tore one of his hands from the safety of the cool lava. He saw Lazarus pull back for the punch, and was prepared to counter it, but something red - something that wasn't his opponent - flitted in the corner of his view. The demon turned his head directly into the punch and felt the first real grip of pain as his jaw broke under the crushing pressure of the Sigel's knuckles.
He'd never experienced pain quite like it before. Even the way his body expelled his power on the beach wasn't like this...this deep, aching pain that thrummed down his neck and into his skull. Zul almost found himself impressed, except that he couldn't stop grinning! With his jaw askewer, it gave him a more gruesome and almost demented look, one half of his grin higher than the other in an uneven display of sharp teeth splashed with brackish blood. If Lazarus didn't like his smile before, he really wouldn't like it now.
The hand still on the ceiling freed in time to catch the second swing, allowing himself to float back to the floor and fight Lazarus on level ground. He felt the fire burning against his palm, answering with the threatening heat of magma, although it never expelled from his palm. Black, pupil-less eyes reflected the Sigel's angry visage, but even as his head was tilted to look at the Incubus, it wasn't where his gaze was. He was instead looking beyond Lazarus' shoulder at the small, gold embossed red envelope that was burning around the edges from the heat. It had been loosened from his arm band and fallen when he'd been inverted, and as it burned, he felt a strange sense of loss. What was--?
Somewhere in his virus-addled mind, he began to remember. He began to recall a time before the sickness, on a clear, calm night, a wish made...and with that brought more memories, a flood gate of recollections that had ceased to exist during his war with the Incubus. In the back of conscience, he felt like he was watching himself, watching this all unfold from some pristine, untouched part in his mind. Zul finally saw the three at the door out of his peripheral, and his lop-sided grin faded around the edges.
His grip of Lazarus weakened as his attention waned.
The woman didn't see the tiny envelope, nor would she have known what it was if she had. One hand remained painfully attached to the door frame, the other lifting to rest over Kyou's own on her shoulder. She knew that was his Raevan in there too, and knew there was nothing they could possibly do to stop them then. Alex felt so terribly, completely helpless in that moment, and she hated it. She blamed herself for not being more careful with her charge, for not being stronger to have fought with him herself. Even as her mind acknowledged that she would have died in her efforts, she couldn't stop the blame that she put squarely on her own shoulders.
She swallowed audibly, her mouth dry from the adrenaline that was still coursing through her body. "ZUL!" she continued to cry out, not giving up. I wont give up on you! I know you're in there!! "ZUL, STOP THIS!!" Bloodshot eyes burned with unshed tears, her legs feeling weak and wobbly as the two fought; her grip on Kyou's hand became rather clutching and strong when the demon suddenly seemed unfocused. "FIGHT IT, NOT HIM!!" Alex stamped her foot - which, in hindsight, was a bad idea since it was her injured leg - shouting with all the gusto of someone reprimanding a favored sports team.
"YOU'RE BIGGER THAN THIS! I'M NOT GIVING UP ON YOU!"

Lazarus didn't know what was wrong, nor did he notice the little envelope that flitted to the ground during the fight. His full attention was concentrate to Zul, and Zul alone, determined to kill the Frei for daring to mock him with that ugly grin. The original reason that started the fight long forgotten in his one-track mind.
The weaken grip and the faded grin meant the Frei's attention was distracted, and this is the perfect opportunity for Lazarus. This time it was Lazarus's turn to smile. Releasing the fist from the Frei's grip, the Sigel grabbed onto his wrist instead and lurched forward with his head rammed into Zul's chest like a mad bull. Similar to the fashion he was first pinned to the wall, Lazarus slammed the demonic Frei into the wall with all his force.
"It is time to end this." The Incubus Sigel whispered hoarsely and smirked victoriously at the stunned Frei. Then with one clawed, firey hand Lazarus grabbed onto Zul's throat. His grip strong, determined to strangle the life out of the Frei's body. The grin on his twisted demonic face widen as he slowly tighten his grip. If his grip wasn't long enough to suffocate the Frei, it might just be strong enough to crush Zul's neck bone eventually.
"NOOOO!!!" It was time for Kyou to cry out as he witnessed the event that is unfolding right before his eyes. "LAZARUS!! STOP IT!!!" He stared wide eyes in horror of Lazarus strangling Zul. He has to do something, he can't just stand here and do nothing! He won't let Lazarus commit murder like that! Not to mention the victim is another Raevan.
"To hell with it." he muttered as he dashed through the barrier. Running as fast as his slender legs could carry him, Kyou dashed towards the Raevans. Lazarus wasn't paying him any attention at all. His eyes darted from the Frei then towards the Sigel. The scientist hesitated for a few seconds, then he attempted to grab and pull Lazarus's arm. "AAAAH!!" he screamed as he pulled his hands away, Lazarus was scorching hot!

He had begun to give Alex a perplexed look when Lazarus rammed into his chest; given there was so little of his body to begin with, it became a full body impact, which momentarily left the Frei stunned and unresponsive to the Sigel's words. He didn't even move when the large hand encircled his gorget, squeezing the thick material hard against his windpipe. Zul stared through Lazarus, not quite seeing him as his mind scrambled to make sense of what was happening.
Another voice joined the desperate cries of his woman, black eyes sliding towards the approaching doctor. He wanted to tell the man to stop, but only a weak wheeze escaped his parted, bloodied lips. The Frei was finally beginning to feel the effects of the fight, making his limbs feel heavy and his movements sluggish. Warm hands weakly grasped the Sigel's forearm, watching Kyou do the same to less successful results. Zul turned his black eyes to Lazarus. Was he going to just hurt everyone like that? His woman, the Sigel's man--
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxXiu, Cordelia
--?
As his vision began to spot with red, he remembered. He saw Lazarus groping the women, saw him handle his Cordelia roughly, remembered the feeling of triumph he held over the fallen Sigel. Triumph because he was better than that
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxYou're bigger than this!!
and because he'd stopped him. He alone had made the grope-happy Incubus stop and pushed him away with a simple...a simple...!
I'm not giving up on you!xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Zul's eyes bled the blackness out in dark veins, the nothingness retreating to reveal very bright and very vibrant blue eyes with slender pupils. Very calmly, the demon removed his hands from Lazarus' forearm and instead cupped his foe's face, almost gentle and intimate. The Frei reached deep inside of himself, into the peaceful, untouched part of his mind and drew it forth, willing it through his sick and rapidly fading system.
A sharp blast of cold ice erupted from both of his hands, directly into Lazarus' face.
"KYOU!" Alex chased the doctor in, not about to let him go in there alone. Strength in numbers, she could have reasoned, but she selfishly did not want to be left out if she could do something, anything! She caught the doctor as he yanked his hands off of the scalding Sigel, drawing in a sharp hiss of air. It suddenly felt like de ja vu, when he'd told her how he'd hurt himself in the hospital...
Quickly (and embarrassedly) making sure her bra was hooked in place again, she tore off the bottom portion of her shirt and wrapped it around the man's hands. Alex felt like she could function now, that she could serve a purpose because she could help someone else. If she didn't have to worry about herself, she could manage. She could be useful. "Don't try to out-do me," she breathed in his ear, pulling him back. They'd have to find an opening, and something to use to protect themselves, even though her skin was pretty much ruined--
The Italian blinked rapidly as Zul's eyes suddenly drained of the demon influence. "Kyou--" she started to say, but was interrupted by the sudden coldness that permeated the immediate vicinity, gasping deeply of the frigid air and taking a few steps back. She hadn't expected him to be able to find his ice after all this time!

The smile on the Sigel's face faded as Zul's eyes turned back to normal, momentarily confused as the Frei cupped his face. They were warm, gentle and comfortable. He didn't notice Kyou at all as his bright yellow eyes stared at the Frei pinned to the wall. Then without warning, an ice blast erupted from Zul's palm.
The ensuing scream that followed after was partly muted by the ice covering his mouth, but it was so terrible that it reverberated in the entire room. He released the grip on Zul's neck then, clutching instead onto his ice-covered face as he staggered backwards, his form hunched from the agonizing pain that seemed to stab right into his core. There was something else too, a screech that accompanied Lazarus's scream. It was as if the virus itself was screaming in pain.
However due to his body's abnormally high temperature, the ice started to melt almost immediately, drenching the Sigel in ice cold water as he continued to thrashed in agony. With a hard thud Lazarus slammed himself onto the opposite wall, sliding weakly onto the floor as the ice melted away completely from his face. When he opened his eyes, the eyes that stared back at the group was no longer yellow, but it was the same hue of red as the usual Lazarus. Panting, the Sigel curled up into a fetal position as he waited for the pain to subside.
Kyou didn't need to be reminded by Alex as his eyes too were fixed upon Zul's sudden transformation. What the..? Before he knew it, the icey blast had exploded on Lazarus face, and the scientist found that he had to cover his ears as the scream erupted from Lazarus. He stared in horror at the events unfolding right before his eyes. As much as he hate seeing Lazarus beat someone up to mush, it pains him more to see him in that much pain.
When he saw that the Sigel's eyes had returned to normal, then only he had the courage to rush towards his side. "LAZARUS!! Are you alright?" It was a stupid question for sure, since he obviously knew Lazarus wasn't alright. But thinking back, that odd screech that accompanied Lazarus's screams that doesn't seem to belong to him, the ice that somehow returned both firey Raevans back to their senses, could it be? Turning his eyes back towards Alex, he remembered her saying that Zul couldn't use his ice powers when he was sick.
Could it be... that the virus's weakness is ice?

Were the humans stupid?! Xiu thought as he watched; first the Doctor, then Alex as they made their way through the barrier and towards the fighting beasts. Couldn’t they understand it? Those…creatures, they were meant to destroy each other and the humans…they should not interfere.
But if they were to interfere…
The white frei gave a soft growl. His orders were to NOT harm anyone but that didn’t mean he had to save people; especially idiots who threw themselves into harm’s way. In a huff, Xiu realized that he DID NOT CARE if both Alex and the Doctor were killed in this fight. What mattered was that-
A sharp decrease in temperature made the frei shivered. Despite the numbness of the cold, his head…it was clearer than it had ever been. Red eyes blinked to take in the carnage that was the room that held the Sigel contained. There was…Lazarus and Zul and…Alex and Dr. Kyou. They were all hurt so badly…
Without giving a second thought, the frei flew into the barrier as well. Pausing to give Alex and Zul a glance, the frei hurried on. The two of them…they seemed to want to spend some time together. They could be treated once this was over.
The scent of blood!
Red eyes turned to the Doctor who was by Lazarus’ side. The Doctor was hurt. His wounds smelled fresh. Xiu felt sick knowing that he knew that by scent alone but this was no time to think selfishly. Hesitantly, the white frei approached the Doctor and the Sigel.
“Doctor Kyou,” mumbled the frei humbly as he lowered himself to a kneeling height. Then taking the Doctor’s hand, the frei stopped the blood flow of the open wound. Turning to Lazarus, the frei could see where the Sigel was hurt badly. The flow of blood, it was disrupted where the deep bruise was forming. Taking a deep breath, the frei placed a hand timidly onto the Sigel’s abdomen. Instantly, the darkness of the bruise lightened and faded to a sort of reddish mark. The frei stopped. That should be enough. The Sigel should be able to handle the remainder of the healing process on his own. From the way the blood was flowing…it would seem that there were no internal damages to the Sigel’s organs as well…so…
Xiu floated unsteadily to where Alex and Zul was, looking ashamed that he had not been able to help prevent the fight but was now more than willing to lend what aid he could.

The scream sounded so much like his own previous shrieks, but angrier...pained. Zul slid down the wall to the floor as the Sigel released him, unmoving save for his eyes, the blue already beginning to fade again. His lips began to slowly curve upwards, but it wasn't in the mocking, nasty grin of before, forming something else entirely. The Frei felt a chuckle in his sore chest, tilting his head back to ease the pressure of his broken jaw.
The woman's ears were so bloodied from all the ungodly sounds that she wasn't sure it really hurt anymore. As Kyou dove for Lazarus, so too did she slide on her knees over the charred floor for her charge, reaching him just as he hit the ground. Alex didn't care if she burned herself again, drawing the demon into her arms and carefully touching his jaw. His skin felt oddly clammy, intensifying her worry. "Zul?" she whispered, smoothing his hair back and streaking it with both of their blood. "Zul, sweetie, are you...here?"
His smile returned her question, not daring to nod. "Ah," came the distant, gravelly voice, his throat torn both from his battle cries and the Sigel's crushing grip. "Heer, yah." There was a sickening crack as Zul forcibly clicked his jaw up and partially into place; his healing mechanics were already at work, clenching his teeth as the muscle began to take hold again. "But...maybe...not long." The demon had to acknowledge that there was something direly wrong with him, and looking at his woman's bloodied state, knowing he'd done that to her and that she was still there, holding him... "...thank...thank you, Alix...and..." His faded eyes turned towards Kyou and the elder Raevan.
Not for the first time that day, and likely not the last, Alex's eyes stung with unshed tears. "We're going to beat this," she whispered feverishly, her words holding the weight of a promise. "We're going to make everything okay again, we just...I have to keep you here. Please understand, I'm not leaving you, I'll be across the hall--"
"I know." Zul's voice slurred a little, his eyes closing. The smile grew wider, "Check on Rivener for me...? And...Laz'rus..." The demon began to laugh then, an almost joyous sound that was out of place in the destruction of the room. Without opening his eyes, he raised his rusty voice for the Sigel to hear. "I like you, Laz'rus...that was...good." The Frei then lifted one hand, lightly pushing against his woman's shoulder. "Go. See him, then see to yourself." And with that, Zul simply relaxed against the wall, eyes closed and smile wide, enjoying the clarity while he had it.
Alex nodded, leaning forward with trembling lips to press a kiss over the pentagram on his brow. "Thank you," she whispered, pushing his hair back again before letting him settle against the wall and slowly getting to her feet. She turned to see Xiu, giving him a shaky smile, her emotions on the fritz. Her adrenaline would be ending soon, she could tell by the dull ache that was beginning to steal through her limbs. "He'll be okay," she said reassuringly to the white Frei, "we all will. We're bigger than this." She lifted her mostly clean hand to touch his cheek fondly before continuing onwards towards Kyou and the fallen Sigel.
She slowly got to her knees by Lazarus' head, feeling trepidation of being so close to the being that had all but molested her twice now. Her fear was no match for her concern, however, her fingers slipping beneath his head to carefully lift it and rest it against her lap. Alex looked over the cut on his cheek that seemed to be all but bloodless, checking his hand as well. "They're so strong," she murmured to Kyou, amazed at how high their endurance was for all that had happened. To Lazarus, she rested her hands on his shoulders, giving him the same promise she'd given her own charge, "We'll fix this. Just hang in there, Laz..."

The corner of Lazarus's mouth curled up as he let out a weak and strained chuckle in response to Zul's words. He wasn't strong enough to speak yet as he curled up on the floor, his face numb and his body shivering from the coldness, returning to his usual feverish temperature. He felt downright miserable.
When Xiu touched his bruise the Sigel twitched in pain, but the pain relieved somehow after a few moments. Lazarus didn't know what Xiu did, but he was thankful for it. Thank you, the Sigel mouthed the words silently as he laid on the ground.
His mind is a lot clearer now for some unknown reason, it wasn't clouded with blind rage, anger or lust. He felt almost... back to normal. Although his body says otherwise, fatigue washing over him in waves. He didn't move when Alex lifted his head, though he really appreciate the care she's giving him. He felt it was undeserving, looking back now at what he did to her. "I'm... sorry." he said to Alex as he shut his eyes, his voice cracked and barely a whisper. He just wanted everything to be over, he just wanted released.
"Thanks." Kyou muttered a little distractedly as Xiu stopped the bleeding on his hands. His minds still trying to wrap around the ice concept, trying to justify if it was true. He remembered that when Lazarus first contracted the virus, he was burning. But that doesn't prove anything. He needed more cases, more proof.
Kyou gripped Lazarus's hands reassuringly as he passed out from exhaustion. "Yes, we will fix this." he whispered, his voice more determined than ever. "Alex," he said, his voice clear, lifting his eyes to meet with Alex's. "You mentioned you tried to stabilized Zul with ice? He was burning up right? Could you tell me more in detail how he reacted to ice?"
