for me, its a combination of my pride as a member of B.O.O, the insult i feel the craptatoverseer skin represents, the eyes, and perhaps a hint of elitism.

starbubbles i kind of like the potato skin, but i really don't know how to work it that well. i'm nervous to even play around with my avi and not save it. i mean, what if i press "save" by habit and loose my super cool skin? though i do wish i had put together a better avi when i had the chance...
Well, I'm not sure I've found my reasons for keeping the skin, yet. I liked both sides, sort of (honestly, I just think this even stunk all around, and was just tedious after the first day, because that's really all the time it took to 'complete' the event), but I just loved the skin. It was my freakin' deciding factor for joining.
I suppose, like a lot of people here, I think it'd be cool if, in a few years, we all still have our original skins (of course, Gaia not giving the BOOtiful skin back would be decidedly un-cool...). It would be like...a symbol of our devotion as well as our seniority over the newer Gaians. I'm typically not that elitist (on Gaia...), but I think it makes for a good symbol.
Besides that, I guess I just don't feel like the event was fair. I don't know if it's just me or not, but I'm pretty sure the event glitched at the end. The BOO score wasn't going up, while SIN just kept getting higher and higher. Normally, I would just think that SIN was beating us, but the score gap was so high, and it was usually only by a point or two throughout the rest of the event. I doubt all the BOO members just decided to up and leave in the final hours, while all the SIN members stayed glued to Gaia. Statistically, it just doesn't make sense to me. If the event did glitch in the end, and they decided to make the manga a tie, why give BOO the consolation prize. I mean, a glitched event would be a great excuse for the Gaia staff to just say "Oops, we messed up. All you lucky users get to keep your skin."
All these kids on Gaia think they're so hip and punk and, and...with the jive, joining the dark side. They don't recognize that Evil is Evil. o3o
Hey, if they're going to take away our pretty skins for doing the morally right thing, then SIN users shouldn't be allowed to receive the generosity of the Wise and Powerful Overseer in the Aquarium any more. They betrayed him!...That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
Oh well, at least I'm happy with my avatar. I was proud enough to put it in the arena, at least. I can live with it for a long while.

I'm keeping my B.O.O. skin because I had planned to at the start of the event, first and foremost. If we won I would constantly wear it, if we lost I was hoping to Ghost it.
After putting in time on the event itself, and realizing that the scores were always a set amount apart I don't personally believe they were even really keeping score. I think they flipped a coin or something. D: That's probably just me though.
All that and the fact that the overseer is amazing. I hope he comes back soon.

I was one of those people who didn't really care for the skin. I wanted the items more. But the damn thing grew on me, especially when users pointed out the little wing whatsits on the shoulders.
Also, I hate the potato skin. It looks like s**t, the worms sticking out of it are kind of creepy, and it masks my beautiful hair. When I joined BOO, it was with the understanding that I would lose the skin if my side lost, not that it would turn into that... that.

But... it grew on me. Especially when I noticed the wings..., yuh, me too > . > I never thought of comparing it to the 2k4 Grombies, which make me feel better about keeping my skin. ...Kinda glad I had time to make my avi look cute, even if that means wearing something tottaly comprised of furry little animals.
Neh, ever since I saw the tattoe skin I've been too scared to visit my invetory let alone click my avi. But.. it shouldn't be an issue for me either. I've keep the same avi for a good year or two before actually changing it.
I like to think of it as a way to collect art for it > w <  <3

Umm, when YuYu got this skin she was so happy because she was never able to afford the cool stuff and this skin made her avatar beautiful. YuYu loves the sea and it makes YuYu look like a pretty Zora, but better. And YuYu loved her overseer. crying

Ack, wearing it for the same reason. Although I do like it lots so I decided to keep it on for a while smile Truth, I hated it at the beginning and would not wear it but as the end of the event came closer I fell in love gonk 4laugh 4laugh
I have the serious urge to change my avatar.. argghh. I wont though razz New items, new items gonk I think they should be near updating the salon again soon, NOOOOO! Because I've seen a hairstyle leaked three times now.. it's going to seriously make me want to change. Ack gonk

I'm keeping mine because I like the skin (mostly the wingalings) I am not a fan of the eyes though which is why I have the sunglasses.
Edit: Whoops, I was thinking grombies, not zombies. Totally forgot about them. x_x

Then they gave us a slightly better ending.
