Yeah I took ruby out with the"have Cloud kill the other 2 characters so he puts his arms in the ground" trick. I don't know about beating emerald w/o underwater materia but KOTR times 4 mimed really hurts biggrin !

Too easy first time I beat Emerald Weapon I had 1 minute 49 seconds to spare.

Have you ever wondered where the old man goes after you give him the Earth Harp, Desert Rose and Guide Book?

I've had the game for years and I still haven't beaten them. crying

It's a simple matter of getting your characters to have 7777 hp... get all three to, combine with a w-summoned knights of round, just turn the tv off and come back in ten minutes (be sure to equip stoopid waterbreathing materia,LOL) and emrald is dust... ruby is even easier... cuz he's vulnerable to stun... toss some dazers at him, or summon hades on him to prevent him from attacking... I suggets W-summoning hades and KoR and miming it... boom, dead ultra-boss ^_^!

Tomorrow I'll tell you guys who desperately want to beat Ruby or Emerald how to do that. I just can't think of all the things right now, ok? Would it help? heart heart I do it because I love you guys so much.

Awww...now I feel all warm and fuzzy. ^_^

Anyway, it took me a while but I beat them. Everybody knows the stategy for Emerald. KOTR, mime, mime, KOTR, mime, mime, heal. This is what makes Emerald much simpler than Ruby. Although, I have to admit that I didn't know Ruby was susceptable to stun. That would have really helped.

my Ruby strategy:

This stategy is most effective with all the materia mastered.

Cloud Lv. 99

Weapon: Ultimate Weapon (You won't be getting much experience from Ruby anyway)
Armor: Zeidrich (I did it with a Fire Armlet, but I heard this works better)
Accessory: Ribbon

Materia:
Phoenix = Final Attack
Knights of the Round or Master Summon(There is no table involved!) = HP Absorb
W-Summon = MP Turbo
HP Plus (However many it takes to get you to 9999 HP)
MP Plus (Same ^)
Enemy Skill (With Mighty Guard)

Description: The Phoenix = Final Attack is obvious, so that if you fall you will come back to life. As usual, kill two members of your party, leaving Cloud alive. When this happens, Ruby will immediately stick his claws into the ground, leaving him open for attack. After this, immediately cast Mighty Guard on yourself to inflict haste and the two barriers. This gives you an immediate advantage.

Now, cast Knights of the Round on his red arse. I know, 'but he'll use Ultima on me!' At your skill level, Ruby's Ultima won't kill you. KOTR will summon again due to W-Summon and the HP Absorb will drain his health and give it to you, preparing you for his next Ultima assault. After he hits you with Ultima again heal yourself, then lather rinse repeat.

The ribbon prevents his tentacles from slapping you with every status in the book. And even better news folks. While casting Knights of the Round, it doesn't hit his tentacles. They will stay buried in the sand until he dies. So if you die, and your party members come back with Phoenix, then you have two others to help you hand Ruby his own rear.

I beat Emerald weapon with a lucky Air Tam Storm 9999-(1111x2)=Lucky 7's. As of yet I am unable to beat Ruby. I am trying many different materia combinations. I almost got Ruby once....but.....Cloud died and Phoenix brought him, Barret, and Cid back to life. Cloud got sucked into the whirlsand and Cid got confused by a tentacle....he ended up using flash on himself and Barret....I was pissed but couldn't help but laugh.
