Echo smiled happily, wiggling a bit where he was standing. He nodded excitedly when Layton understood what a pinano was, despite not seeming to know what the little nix meant when he was trying to explain an instrument. When Layton walked off, the little black-haired boy followed after him eagerly, finishing off his candy with a smile despite the fact that it left chocolate all around his mouth.
When the xylophone was brought out, his teal eyes shone brightly with excitement as he took it delicately, sitting down with it and placing it in front of himself. He looked between the mallet and the xylophone and played through the small amount of notes. He pouted slightly at the fact that it wasn't as good as a pinano, but it was at least better than nothing. Taking a deep breath, the boy began playing a surprising symphony on the little thing, eyes falling dazed and half-shut as he did so.

As Echo began playing on the toy xylophone, Layton felt an odd sensation throughout his body.He felt... different. His feet wouldn't move and he couldn't move his arms either, so he couldn't control his shadows. His eyesight blurred slightly and his feet began to lose their balance. The toddler fell back onto his bum, but he did not cry out. Instead, Layton felt a soothing feeling as Echo played his music and as he drifted into unconsciousness, he smiled slightly.
"Pwetty.... moo-sic..."
