*looks at the one she has labeled the shy one, with a gentle smile*
"He never actually told me his name. He keeps trying to make me guess it when I ask, so I just call him Greenie for now."
*The dragon, seeing that the girl is giving him attention, floats slowly over and nuzzles his nose into her hand, flicking his tongue gently across it to see if there is any candy left on it*
"And don't worry, he doesn't bite unless he feels threatened, and then only enough to get away so he can make himself teleport away from the danger. Be careful though, if you give him a lot of attention you might find it hard to get rid of him."
*she says it in a jokingly playful way, and the dragon, hearing the same thing he has heard many times before from Lyssa, turns to look at her and sticks his tongue out in a very human gesture*

She chuckles as he licks her hand, after he sticks his tongue out at you she then reach up and pet him, "well then I guess I would probably be stuck with him a few times" Rayn looks at him, almost studying, a slight smile across her face.

*he feels your attention on him again, and he turns back to look you in the eyes. his eyes also swirling with colors, quickly flowing from green to yellow and back again. they show little bits of red at which point he looks back towards Lyssa at which time he lets out a small squeal. Lyssa just sighs and reaches into her backpack under the bed.*
"I know you're not hungry you little attention hog, but here's a little snack to hold you over for a while."
*she tosses a piece of beef jerky to the little dragon, who barely has to move to catch it in his mouth. he settles himself around your shoulders to eat his snack, which smell faintly of teriyaki and cayenne. he holds the jerky in his hands and is surprisingly neat for how quickly he devours the jerky*

chuckles and she pets him as he eats, surprised as well, her eyes going hot pink (surprise/awed) as she watch. Once he finishes she offers him a tiny piece of candy, even tiny for him, but hopes it will be ok.

*when he finishes he gives you a cute dragon smile and buries his head in your hair before he begins breathing slowly, telling you he's taking a nap*
"He always needs a nap after he eats. Don't worry about moving. I don't think you could get him off you right now if you tried. He always has to be the center of attention wherever we go. But I do have to admit that he's a cute little bugger. Even if he hasn't grown more than a few inches in the last century. I'm Lyssa, by the way."
*she comes over closer to you so as not to disturb all the others with any conversation from across the room and she gently hold out her hand*

Rayn watches the dragon, then looks over at lyssa before hesitantly taking her hand, "the name's Rayn, um" blushes, lingering by accident on the hand hold. "I don't mind the uh" point to the dragon " I-i used to have a, uh, cat" blushes more at her stumble, "he slept on my shoulders a lot" she looks at the dragon, kind of missing her kitty for an instant, she looks back at Lyssa and smiles.

*smiles gently at Rayn, notices that she is definitely the shy type. She guesses that others have used that to push her around in the past and makes a note to watch over her if anyone should do that in the near future*
"Cats are wonderful creatures themselves, but Greenie tends to chase them off if they try getting too much attention. You don't have to be shy around me, or afraid of me either. By the way I like the tail."
*she smiles as she looks at the fox tail behind Rayn, yet makes no move to take her hand back. She is barely holding onto Rayn's hand though, so she could take it back any time she wished.*

Rayn smiles at her, feeling confident in a friendship between them, she blushes and her tail flicks, as if it was aware it was being talked about, "uh, thanks" she remembers the hand hold and releases, blushing brighter, "sorry" her eyes go a darker pink, kind of red, matching her face, "I grew fond of it after a while, kind of became a part of me, so it will be rare to see me without it" her ears twik, "oh, and those"

*she is glad that she found at least one person here that she could befriend. she almost regrets it when Rayn lets her hand go*
"No need to be embarrassed. If I had been offended by it I would have said something. And the fox ears and tail definitely suit you."
*she smiles gently at Rayn as she goes back to her computer to finish her e-mail*

Rayn watches Lyssa, smiling, proud of herself, she decides to bunk next to Lyssa, feeling a bit better about herself. Rayn picks up her suitcase and slides it under the bunk nexy to hers, then starts checking the bed to make sure there are no screws missing. After a while Rayn pulls out her own blankets, a blue quilt, witha burnt corner, that has cute little animals all over it, playing, sleeping, eating, etc. as well as tiny hearts. She also pulls out a purple blanket and puts it over it. Next she pulls out her own pillow, tossing it over the one that already exists. She stops for a secontd then turns to look at Lyssa, "you don't mind do you?" blushing as she looks at her face.

"Of course I don't mind. I don't think that Greenie does either."
*the dragon has woken up a bit as Rayn gets her bed made and floats down to curl up on her pillow*
"Do you mind me asking what happened to your quilt? I could try fixing it for you if the burn was fairly recent."
*her eyes take in every bit of Rayn's face, trying to see if it brings up a bad memory for her. If it does she will drop it quickly... she has plenty of her own bad memories, so she knows that not everyone wants to share every detail of their lives*

Rayn looks at the dragon and smiles, "you be careful with that pillow, it wasn't cheap, though I did get it a long time ago" turns to Lyssa after she say the thing about the quilt, then chuckles, "thanks, but no thanks, it's a fond memory actually, so I would rather it stay" Rayn's face practically glowing, a slight ting as as if something had happened in her past that was somehow connected, but more happy then anything, her eyes change to a very light blue, almost no color (natural eye color, only seen when she is content).

*smiles as she feels the happiness coming from Rayn, and nods to her*
"I understand."
*reaches under the bed and pulls out a light blanket that has a coat of arms on it: a shield quartered with green and black blocks and a flying silver hawk in the center clutching 3 arrows and (olive) branches in its talons. Greenie opens his eyes looking at his blanket and floats gently over to the blanket before curling up again inside of it*
"It's his favorite blanket."

Ottaline was very thankful for the candy she had been given. She knew it Mr. M.'s favorite, so she hid the last of it in her coat pocket. She looked around, and was now feeling good enough to show herself. She climbed down the wall and looked around.
As long as everyone is as nice as that girl, I'll be fine, she thought to herself.

*hearing someone else moving around, Greenie wakes up and goes to say hi. he slowly floats over to this other shy girl, looking carefully at her to make sure that he didn't scare her. Lyssa sees this and speaks softly to her*
"He just wants to say hi. He won't hurt you."
*she smiles as he winds softly around her shoulders and presses his nose softly against her cheek*
"He's already been spoiled with attention today, so getting him to sleep is going to be hard if others keep coming."
