| Konaga Clan | Speed/Offensive Type | Iwagakure | Genin | The exchange was a reasonable one and Shinji knew that he wouldn't have been able to obtain the artifact in the Iwagakure Tree without something else. You didn't live in the Iwagakure your entire life and not see someone try to military movement into the thing without being shunted out. He had dismissed it, but kept it in the back of his mind as requiring something else if they had come across it. If however Kaizen had the item, to let him know about it, would procure both of them an artifact without any trouble. This was turning out to be a much better interaction then the last.
"Alright then, it's a deal. Yes, there's an Ancient Tree in the Earth Country, not surprisingly called 'The Ancient Iwa Tree'. Locals however refer to it as more, as being a totem for Doton chakra and a landmark that gives the land some of it's power, Doton's Mother, if you will. It's located in the Earth Country, past the Caverns of time, but before the Inn, somewhere in between, not far from the Iwagakure gates. I dismissed the idea of going myself because I knew that the markings kept people from invading or harming the tree, though no one knows how they got there. Sufficed to say however, a simple 'Earth Military Movement' technique will not win you the prize. That's what the clue leads to at least. If you have a way to 'reach inside' then you'll probably be successful."
"But how are you going to get there? It's over 2 days trip to the Iwagakure and I guarantee you there isn't much left there in the way of artifacts. We had to fight off another team that was there and I got the only two artifacts that I could think of from the village just before they arrived. It will be a lot of traveling for just one artifact and time is running out." As Kaizen was helping him out, Shinji figured it would only be fair to warn him of the distance involved. It was the least he could do for the offer Kaizen was making for him.

Shinji was quite right but then Vincent wondered if they allowed the other team to have that one artifact from the tree then what would be left for them to get? Thinking back over the clues there weren't very many that he could decipher as to the location of their artifacts. He just hoped that Shinji had some ideas for the next artifact because it was as he said: time was running out for them all.

Kai shrugged, a smile returning to his face as he said calmly, "Actually we found another artifact that'll make travel a non-issue, we'll probably make another stop before going to Iwa actually. But I thank you for your concern." With that, Kai turned on his heel and motioned for Shayera and Taiji to follow him. Waving over his shoulder, Kai called back to Shinji, Yamatano, and Vincent,"good luck with the rest of the artifacts, oh, and I hope you weren't too hasty leaving your campsite, I know how Yamatano can get a little hasty." Walking down towards, Kirigakure, Kai smiled to himself. Hopefully they would get the hint, he really would hate for those two to miss out on the third stage when they had such an easy artifact to get. Kai looked to his companions, and said calmly, "let's check out the lake before we head to Suna.""I live to fulfill the dreams of those that came before me" [exit to gates of Kirigakure... almost]

| Konaga Clan | Speed/Offensive Type | Iwagakure | Genin | "HEY! Wait a minute!... you said you had an artifact that made you travel a non-issue? what is that?" Shinji was pretty curious as to what such an artifact would be. If however did have a few clues to artifacts that might be in Kumogakure after reading several of the clues over again on his watch in the morning and had wondered where his next destination should be. perhaps one of Kaizen's teammates would be from there and possibly able to help. The hint had intrigued him however...
"How could he be giving us a clue to an artifact that he knows about and then say that we would have one at our campsite?... if he had gotten such an artifact, we wouldn't be able to get the same one would we? Also, how would he know it was at our campsite? all of this rolling around in his head, Shinji walked froward a few steps to meet up with Kaizen's group again... "How would you know about an artifact at OUR campsite?"

Kai looked over his shoulder, a small smile playing on his lips as he called back to him, "Maybe you should go back to the camp on Nagi Island and think it over." With that Kai turned back on his heel and began walking back towards Kiri, waving back at the other team on his way down."I live to fulfill the dreams of those that came before me" [exit to gates of Kiri]

Vincent felt just as confused by the statement made. It was then that he wondered if it was clue number 20 that referred to the place that all three call home. Still if someone else had already claimed it then there was no real need to think further on it. There was still the need to do the suiton jutsu.

Shayera bursts into laughter as she follows Kai, realizing that not only did Kai not give exact whereabouts, but the other team hadn’t read the full list of clues, or at very least, hadn’t taken the time to decipher all of them before leaving the campsite.
“Kaizen.” She says between chuckles. “I must say, that was clever.” Her mood is light for the first time in what seems like days as she and Team 3 head to Kirigakure.

(Notice: this post is for gregar, I am talking with him on the phone right now)
As Yamatano walked into the village that he had come to on his first mission outside of Kirigakure, he was surprised to see another team, Kaizen's team in fact. As Kai and Shinji spoke a few words, Yamatano decides to get a head start, and try to reveal the artifact. Without so much as a single hand-seal, Yamatano begins to focus chakra into his gut, forcing it up his throat and raises his head to the sky and calls out clearly, "Mizu Peretto!", causing a fist sized bullet of water to fly out of his mouth and into the sky.

After performing the water jutsu, the team felt a sudden chill as a stiff wind blew by freezing the Mizu Peretto into solid ice. As you approach to see the outcome of your jutsu you're amazed to find that the wind has transformed the simple water technique into a small ice sculpture in the shape of a swan.

Vincent looked at the sculpture of ice. He marveled at how it was in the shape of a swan and couldn't help but love its beauty. All the others were just so blase: a spoon, a set of chopsticks, and a medal. But this, this was truly a work of art that deserved a pedestal in a museum.
"Beautiful, isn't it?" Vincent asked his teammates.

| Konaga Clan | Speed/Offensive Type | Iwagakure | Genin | Shinji scowled at Kaizen's flippant response back towards him as it carried a slightly mocking and condescending tone. As he watched the boy and his team walk away, the girl within the group giggling as she went, Shinji had the urge to charge them, but a swift shock of pain which ran through his system caused him to wince heavily and grit his teeth. Closing one eye to the pain, Shinji was forced to look down at the serene, snowy ground, controlling his anger which was causing a flaring of his chakra until the wave of pain had passed. Looking up again, only the trails of the ninja remained as Shinji scoffed at their foolishly haughty demeanor. "Fine, we could have all been done by tomorrow, but forget it... you want to act like you're the smarter group, then we'll just finish before you. Have fun."
Turning on his heals, Shinji turned back to see that Yamatano had finally formed a water jutsu, watching as the stiff breeze, which managed to chill even him met with the water, freezing and forming it into an ice swan. Still somewhat miffed about the other team's remarks, Shinji was not as captivated by the ice swan as his teammate was, but was glad to have it none-the-less. Now they had 4... the spoon, the chopsticks, the medallion, and the swan. All they needed was one more. The group still standing in the cold, wind swept and silent village, Shinji spoke up so his team could hear his thoughts...
"If what Kaizen's team said is true, there is an artifact at our campsite. Seems to me that when you make a comment as he did, you're gloating in someone's face that you found it and they didn't. Perhaps that's what the last clue was referring to... not going to far from a home that we all shared, which would have been the campsite for a brief period. since we aren't far from the docks that can take us back to Nagi Island, perhaps we should check back there. If we're right, we'll be finished. If not, well, we still have 2 days to get another artifact, and I have several leads in Cloud. What would you say Vincent?"

"I have my doubts about the validity of the statement." Vincent stated, "If they already knew that there was an artifact at our campsite then why didn't they get it themselves? For all we know we could be walking into a trap that they set for us to walk into in order to keep us out of their way while they gain the other artifacts and we're eliminated from the third stage. Still, you are correct in that we still have two whole days until our time is up."
Vincent may have seem paranoid but he was justifiably so given how devious some of the teams seemed to be despite how there were plenty of artifacts for all the teams to find.

| Konaga Clan | Speed/Offensive Type | Iwagakure | Genin | Listening to what Vincent had to say, Shinji thought it over, but countered with what he remembered from the rules and his experience at the camp... "But think about it Vincent. Don't you remember the shimmering light barrier around our campsite when we walked in? The rules stated that we were clearly not allowed, nor could we in anyway access someone else's campsite. When I asked Kaizen where he had gotten such an item, he advised us to check OUR campsite and said it very smugly."
"Now, there's no way he could have accessed or set traps at OUR campsite, yet he's smugly confident we'll find something there. His attitude showed haughty pride, and it seemed to me that he was gloating about something... perhaps that HE found something that we didn't, this would seem to indicate that he might have found something at HIS campsite. You would then imagine that the clue would have been erased, but it's NOT... which suggests that maybe the riddle pertains to all of the groups, meaning, each group could have attained such an object before leaving... which would be GREAT to have in a test like this and would have rewarded a careful insight into all the clues prior to setting out." Shinji then stopped, wondering if his rant was making any sense before rubbing the back of his neck.
"I don't know, maybe I'm wrong, maybe he's lying through his teeth about even having an item. It was just a thought. If you'd rather go to Cloud, since I'm fairly certain of another artifact there, we better get moving now." Shinji then left it up Vincent to decide what they would do.

"In that case," Vincent said, "let's head back to our campsite and see if we can find an artifact there. If there isn't then we'll head to Cloud. Do you think that's acceptable?"

His earlier encounter clearly still affecting his internal monologue, Shinji brushed the statement away and nodded to the suggestion. "Yeah, we can be careful in approaching the camp however, just to be safe."
Finally ready to leave their frigid surroundings, Shinji had Vincent hold the ice swan in hand as they made their way back through the wintry lands, leaving the cold silence behind them. "I really hope I'm right about all of this..." He thought to himself as he led the team back to the docks to get to Nagi island... "I'm going to look pretty foolish if I'm not."
