NEWTS
Charms: I would love to take this class. It seems kind of like a wizarding basic class. Most everyday spells seem to be Charms. I also think I'd have a lot of fun practicing them and it doesn't seem too difficult. Transfiguration: I feel like I'd love this class but also find it extremely difficult. I would probably take it at NEWT level for the sole desire to become good at it. It also seems like a useful class and something impressive to take. I think having Mcgonagall as a teacher (if she was still there) would be what I really need to get me truly motivated to do well. Defense Against the Dark Arts: I think I would really love this class. It would help me improve on my awareness in general and help me think faster on my feet. Besides I would hate to not know what to do in a situation. I also think, if taught right, this class would be one of the most fun. Herbology: I'm not a big gardening person in all honesty, but I think I'd like this class. Magical plants seem far more interesting than regular plants and the class itself seems like something that I'd find interesting. Besides, the fresh air and the greenhouses might be good during my schedule for me. Potions: Another class that I think would be pretty useful to take. It seems similar to Chemistry, just without the Math which seems like something I could do. I never understood the complexity of potions if you have instructions in front of you. Though I admit, I'd be frightened to try out my solutions at first, I think taking potions would have the possibility of really benefiting me out or even saving me some day. Classes I wouldn't take:
History of Magic: I'm quite a History geek and I'm proud of it but having Binns as a class would be absolutely horrible. I just know I'd fall asleep and then having to somehow write a few feet long essay on something I was sleeping through would prove disastrous... maybe I'll just read the history books on my own instead. Astronomy: Interesting class but I find it useless. I don't really see how it's a NEWT class in the first place. Plus, despite never sleeping I'd probably find it hard to concentrate at night and to memorize facts that I find useless about the planets.
Electives Ancient Runes: New language? Awesome. I already took Latin so after that anything would seem easier. Besides it seems like one of those challenging classes that I'd really hate and complain about at first but end up loving simply for the fact that it is a challenge. Muggle Studies: I think if I was in the HP universe I'd be either a Halfblood or Pureblood. Taking this class would make me seem less ignorant, and besides like Hermione said, it might be interesting in learning about Muggles from a Wizards point of view. Care of Magical Creatures: I love animals, and magical animals just seem cooler. I admit I'd be frightened of some of the creatures but also equally fascinated with them. Thestrals for instance, seem morbid to me but also beautiful in their own way and who wouldn't love to set a Niffler on someone they didn't like. wink
Classes I wouldn't take: Arithmancy: I wish I could quit math even now. I hate it, it's rubbish and too difficult for me to grasp. I've accepted I suck at it and am ready to rid myself of it. Why would I want to do it as a wizard? Divination: First of all, all the scents would make me nauseous. I would LOVE to be able to see the future but the class itself seems too impractical. I'd rather just stick to seeing the occasional seer than deal with the ability to do it myself.

NEWTS
Transfigurations: I'd definitely take this class merely for its usefulness sometime later in my life, and I feel like I'd do well because I'd easily be able to concentrate on the task at hand. Charms: This would no doubt be my favourite class, and as such I'd probably excel in it. Potions: I would love to take Potions, as well, but I feel like I'd get myself in trouble every now and then due to experimenting during class time and causing a few slightly disastrous accidents. Defense Against the Dark Arts: Like the Personal Defense unit I took in Physical Education last year, I have a feeling I'd really enjoy this class. I've always been interested in sparring, magically or otherwise. I suppose the proper term in this universe would be "dueling," though. [; Astronomy: I LOVE Astronomy, and I have a feeling I'd enjoy it even more at Hogwarts! Everything there is just instantly enhanced. Herbology: I'm also quite interested in plants, their usages, their qualities, identifying them, etc. I believe I'd perform well in this class, especially because I'm great at memorizing defining qualities. History of Magic: Yet another class I'd love. History interests me so much, but it's always my lowest class because of the excessive name and date memorization. I'm a straight A student in real life, though, so I can't see myself getting any lower than an O in this class nor in any others.
ELECTIVES
Ancient Runes: I love learning new languages because of their practicality later in life and their attachment to history. As long as the professor is nothing like my current Spanish teacher, I'd definitely enjoy myself. Muggle Studies: I think as a witch I would be either a halfblood or muggle-born, but it doesn't hurt learning more about the non-magical side of life! Care of Magical Creatures: As a volunteer at my local zoo, a bird watcher, and a pet enthusiast, there's no doubt I would absolutely love this class and what it has to offer. Plus, I'd get to have Hagrid as a professor, and that's always fun! 8D
The only classes I wouldn't take are Arithmacy because although I am great at mathematics, I have no interest in them; and Divination because I don't fancy looking into my future. I'd much rather be surprised by life and meet each event as it is presented to me, thanks! I do wish there were some type of magical art class, though. D:
