Once her dress was safe in her arms, Elzo unceremoniously dropped his tux onto the register. This earned him a scowl from the older check out counter. It was the look a mom might give her unrefined son when telling him not to slurp his soup at the dinner table, even though said son was 5 and wouldn't listen anyway.
In that same line, Elzo was to busy focusing on Gabbie to care about that old lady's angry glare. "Pish, I'll make it fun. Because damn, it's prom. If you don't have fun then I have massively failed as a guy."

The lady at the register made a huff and Elzo, not even taking his eye off of Gabbie, just gave the lady his ID and credit card. "Any type of flower you have a liking too? After all, I need to know for the corsage."

"Gold? I can do that." Did they sell gold flowers? Maybe. He knew about gold dipped but those where expensive. Maybe just one of those light yellow puuffy ones with some gold petal lining and-"Your total comes to 274 dollars and 99 cents." "WHAT?" Turning to face the cashier, Elzo groaned. He'd forgotten how much a new tuxedo would cost. Oh well, could be worse.
"Do I need to put it back?" The old lady behind the counter gave him a smug look, as if to say 'Not so hott now, are ya?' "...No, just wasn't expecting it to be that much, but hey, that's what savings are for." He gave the woman's bitter scowl a purely Xanis grin. It was clear she had hoped otherwise. Signing off on the receipt, Elzo grabbed his new tux and swung it over his shoulder. So much for wrinkles being absent.

"Anything else you can think of? Diner, anybody you want to go with as a party then pair? Or just anything in general?" Leaning back, the woman seemed bitter at the fact he was being so casual. And leaning on what was clearly her counter. Clearly.

"Hardly, it's just who I am. I like to know I'm not leaving my date disappointed. And, natural history museum?" So she was some buff? Not really his gig but, he could dig it. His eyes were drawn to the shark tooth necklace and his mind flashed to his own tooth collection. Elzo's face became slightly blank in thought. Hm...she might find it a bit creepy. Most girls did. But still, he had loads of shark teeth. A teeth from tiny fish. And from lizards. And snakes. And deer, (lots of deer). And-

Okay, she said something, probably not teeth related. Whoops!

"Oh uh...kaiju? Um, well, hey, if you want to do that, it's cool by me. Never heard of it before. And don't dis mini-golf. I suck at it but, damn, it's always a blast when you go with your bros, er, friends." He picked up his credit card and id, showing them back into his pocket. "Just call me if you think of anything kay?" In a low tone he whispered, "I think this b***h wants to kick me out, like, asap."

"Godzilla? Why didn't you say so?" Elzo was grinning ear to ear. Making sure his suit was alright, he Made his way out first, making sure to hold the door open. "I love those old godzilla films, so bad, they're good." At her mentioning the prehistoric exhibit, his view shifted south, to her cleavage. And what lay on top, the shark tooth necklace.

"...Do you like bones then?" These way something odd in his eyes, almost an insane glint.

"Shoot..." Fossils were bones, just not the kind he collected. The oldest bones he had were some fossilized seashells, and those were a dime a dozen. "Oh it's not that fossils aren't cool or anything. I mean, they are, but it's just..." he blushed. 'I kinda collect bones in general. Mainly teeth. Animal teeth." It was taking all oh self control not to, "I could show you if you want." Uh, no. No, bad Elzo! Bad!
"Uh, sorry. I mean..." he was blushing a deeper shade of red, almost looking like a talking tomato. "I think it's cool, you know, to want to study fossils. And try to find new ones. I'm sure there are lots."

Oh god, she wasn't freaked out. She hadn't said no. Oh god. OH SWEET MERCIFUL GOD THIS HAD TO BE THE MOST AMAZING GIL HE'D EVER MET IN HIS LIFE.
Holding in his glee, (just barely), Elzo's grin returned and the red embarrassment and shame vanished. "Dino teeth replicas? Oh s**t, seriously? i saw them in a magazine ages ago and wanted to get some but, ugh! You have to show me." He was just beaming. If Elzo could exude light when happy, he might have been blinding.
"I'll show you my collection, You can even have some extras! I have lots. Deer and elk and well, mainly animals I hunted but still. I also have a few skulls. When do you want to meet up?" It was almost creepy how excited he was over teeth and bones.

Okay, it was creepy.

Her fate had been sealed. Elzo was now going to torment her with his unnatural love for collecting teeth...and other various bones. "A necklace? Of teeth?" This was like being told you were getting a brand new car for Elzo. Not that her drove. He couldn't. At least not well.

Seeing his eyes alight and his odd enthusiasm, there might be a logical reasoning for Elzo not owning a car or being able to drive.

"Tomorrow? Yes! Sure! I'll...I'll call right away!" Looking over he spied the city bus down the road. "Shoot. I've got to run. I'll call you tomorrow Gabbie!" Running to the bust stop, he was wrinkling his suit. Poor suit.
