"O-kay," she said slowly, in a drawn out fashion, as if she were having trouble understanding exactly what he was saying. She wasn't really positive that what he was saying would fix her, but then, what did she know? Maybe he had done this kind of thing before.

Squeezing her eyes shut, like she was afraid it was going to hurt, she brought up both hands and places them on opposite sides of her neck. With a deep breath, she pushed at her neck, scrunching her face up as she did so. She applied as much force as she thought she could without popping her neck clean in two.

"It's no use!" her tone was full of despair as she flung her hands down, eyes looking like they might brim with tears. "I'm going to have a curvy neck forever."

Sue couldn't laugh. He could not laugh. That would blow it immediately, and this whole thing was way too amazing to toss out for a cheap chuckle. But oh, was it hard.

"No-no, there're ways to fix these things," he assured her, a serious look on his face. He reached down to his plate, picked up a cup of cherry Jell-o, and plopped it down in front of her. "Here. Eat this," he told her. "This, and a lot more. You're going to need to get as many as you can and eat them all as fast as you can, okay? It's the gelatin, see, there's an ingredient that'll soften up your neck so that you can straighten it out again."

If this worked... oh God, if this worked. Sue would probably get detention for weeks once he was outed, but it would be fantastic enough that he didn't care.

He picked up her spoon and held it out to her, grimly.

It made sense in her odd little mind. Jello was springy and wiggly, and therefor it should be capable of putting the spring back into her malformed neck, right? For what it was worth, at least she liked jello. At least the way it looked, it was so springy and wiggly! She wasn't so fond of the texture. She could make do if it meant saving herself from a life of deformity, though.

"I suppose that's the only way," she said with a dramatic gulp, reaching out to take the spoon he offered her like it was a bomb that might explode at any moment. She slid the cup of jello closer to her and sat carefully on the edge of her seat. Then, with a deep sigh, she plunged the spoon into the jello and raised it carefully to her lips, though the usually pleasing wiggles of the food weren't as amusing when they were suddenly important. Squeezing her eyes shut, as if she were afraid the jello might make her neck go all springy and floppy at once, she shoved the spoon into her mouth and swallowed dutifully.

"I think I need a lot more than this," she said, staring pitifully down at the small cup after a few bites, one hand raising to gingerly poke at her neck, "it doesn't feel any different yet." She shifted in her seat and threw a glance around the table for any uneaten jello cups. "Could you help me find some more Sue? I don't want my neck to be curvy forever." Her expression hadn't changed much from the comical worry, but there was a definite edge of panic in her voice now.

"A lot more," Sue agreed, his eyes glinting with mischief. He was already standing, so it wasn't much of a problem to hop over his seat and start down the row. He didn't care if people protested or not - those Jello cups were his, and he was feeling pretty damn cocky that nobody was going to try and argue with him. And if they did? "We're trying to set a world record," he would grumble, and take the Jello cup anyway.

For the first time in a good while, though, Sue was actually excited about what someone would do. Someone, you know, who was not a cat. How many cups would Piper be able to eat before she exploded? What color would she puke afterwards - there were a multitude of flavors and colors here, after all! Would there be any sympathetic pukers in the audience?

Oh this would be awesome. This would be so awesome.

He deposited the pile in front of Piper. "You've got to eat at least all of these, for sure," he informed her. "We'll see where you sit once you're done. And remember, you want to eat them as fast as possible so that your system gets properly flushed through." He glanced at the clock on the wall. He might as well time this.

"Are you ready?"

She finished the cup she'd been eating, wearily watching him as he hopped down the row and scooped up all the other cups. She felt mildly bad that all those jello cups were being taken from people that truly wanted jello that was rightfully their own, but this was a matter of.. well, not life or death, but it was almost as morbid!

She shoved away the empty cup and frowned as he came back with his hands full of cups. That was so much jello. How was she ever going to fit that much jello into her stomach? Was it even humanly possible? It had to be if Sue said so, right?

"A-all of it?" she asked unsteadily, even as she reached for a cup of blue jello and began to jiggle it in her hand. "Even the green kind?" She threw a disgusted glance at the green cups, as if they deserved a particularly nasty end. She wasn't very fond of green colored foods, they were always the worst flavored kinds. She finally sighed though, realizing her personal preferences had to be pushed aside if she had any hope of having a normal-necked life after this.

"I guess you're right," she said meekly, scuffing one shoe against the floor and raising her spoon. She drew in a deep breath and scooped up a spoonful of jello. "Here we go!" She stuffed it into her mouth and swallowed it down without a second thought, following it with another, and another. She shoved the cup aside and picked up another, downing it in the same way. However, Piper was certainly not made for this, and after the second cup she was already beginning to feel a bit queasy. She set it down and made a grimace, chewing at her lip. "Sue, I don't feel well," it was a whiny tone, like a child would use, as if she were hoping he'd tell her she could stop. If Sue said she'd eaten enough, then she obviously had right? He was the expert, after all.

Did she need to eat the green Jello? Yes. Yes she did. Why? Because it would amuse Sue.

"All of it," Sue repeated firmly. And when she seemed queasy, maybe doubtful, he delivered his ultimatum: "Eat all of it, or live with a curved neck all your life. Can you imagine? How would you do your... fluting things, if your neck is so curved that you can't even see the papers in front of you? They'd never give you a solo. They'd have to hide you behind the tuba."

His voice cracked - a mad giggle snuck out. "C'mon, c'mon," he gasped between silent spasms of laughter. The facade was quickly slipping now, but Sue did his damnedest, pushing a (green) cup forward insistently. "Gotta eat them quickly remember, so you have the most in your system at once!"

And it was time to start making a bit of room between him and Piper, make sure he wasn't setting himself up to get his uniform dyed new and exciting colors of puke. Unless projectile vomiting were her gift, in which case, there was probably no place he could run.

She really didn't want to eat all of it, especially not the green kind. She might have even stopped and dared live with her funny neck had he not threatened her with the one thing that truly put a terrible fear in her. Above all else, there was no way Piper would let herself be crippled as a flutist. She loved playing the flute and there was just absolutely no play she was going to let a simple thing like jello get in the way of that.

Well, it seemed simple. At least until she stared down at all those ominous cups wiggling their contents in front of her.

With a groan, she dug into a fourth cup, grimacing the entire way. Just as she'd started to scoop her spoon into a fifth, however, she felt her stomach do a rolling back flip. Green jello really was evil. "Ugghn," she managed, just before the sudden urge to regurgitate the contents of her stomach hit her all at once. She shoved the cups of jello away and tossed her spoon down with a loud crash while simultaneously leaping up from her chair and making a mad dash for the exit of the cafeteria. She disappeared through the door, but whether she made it to the bathroom or not would be up to the janitor's luck.

As she ran off, Sue made sure to call after her, "I think you fixed it!" He wasn't a total unfeeling b*****d after all. Even if he was collapsed with laughter on his food plate.

It took him a bit of time to pull himself together. There were still a great number of Jello cups left, but he liked to think of them as Piper wards. He very much doubted she was going to come back anytime soon, not with that pile waiting to greet her!

On the bright side, he had managed to clear most of his plate (and the rest was smeared on his coat now anyway), so it was time for him to head off. With aching sides and tearful eyes, Sue disengaged from the table. It was only on a whim of a second thought that he plucked one of the green Jello cups off the pile and tucked it into his pocket, then exited the dining hall with the biggest grin anyone had ever seen on his face.

He might feel guilty later, for having left the Jello cup in front of the door to Piper's room. But he liked to think of it as a heartfelt love letter, an appreciation for an evening of fine entertainment. And if ever they should happen to sit near to each other at dinner again? Why, Sue thought he might just welcome that.
