"I've... never owned one. So I don't know if they can or can't." He admitted, picking anxiously at his sleeve as he studied the box, half tempted to take it apart, but looking at it as though it might jump up and bite if he tried, though he was more afraid he would find no evidence at all of tampering. "...We're well past Halloween..." He wondered out loud. "...I don't know. I don't have a good answer." He admitted, wondering if it was ridiculous to actually consider the dire warning as anything but a prank. Vera didn't seem to treat it that way, but she was so much calmer about the whole thing.

She sighed then. "Well, alright." Vera turned back to the table with their homework and frowned. It would be nice to figure out what was going on, but they had come here for a reason. "I don't have one either," she admitted. She would accept that it had been a real occurance, and that she had heard what the radio had said - and would be entirely more wary of everyone and everything from now on.
"We should get back to studying," Vera said finally, seating herself once more, although she couldn't quite focus on math at the moment.
