Tate gritted her teeth. It wasn't like one night would set Giselle back that much. They could meet up to go dress shopping, and maybe if that creepy-a** Twitter girl actually did find a date for Tate it would be someone Giselle knew, and then they could all go together, then Tate and Zell could bail on whatever other creeper and go play games.
But work was more important than she was? She understood it sometimes. A lot of the time. Zell might zone out with her history books but she always came back. Since the start of this year, though, Zell had been so weird! Tate was starting to wonder... She sat down to type some kind of response, hands poised over the keys.

She couldn't think of anything.

Would it be worth it to ask Giselle home if she didn't want to be there? Probably not...

'Your army is strong! I can see why my empire was no match for yours!"
The trite tagline that came when an enemy offered surrender flashed on her screen. She mouse hovered over the 'no' button when Tate replied. She hardly ever let them get away that easily.
Taking a moment, she switched over to the chatbox.
She smiled, but she felt like someone had scooped out her insides and replaced them with mush. What kind of an ally was she? The prom was a battlefield, at least for people like her and Tate. She didn't actually have that much work, either.
Now was the time to say something.
Now was the time to decide.

Closing the messenger, she glanced back at the screen. 'DO YOU ACCEPT MY SURRENDER?' Her mouse hovered, the n before she could think about it, she pressed 'yes' and turned off the computer.
She had better things to do, she convinced herself.
