“Alright, thanks Fallon.” Oh, oh she didn’t like how Fallon’s smile faltered just a bit. In her restlessness she’d forgotten how independent and not fond of helpers the other girl was. Imo would have to remember; you played by Fallon’s rules in Fallon’s kitchen. Still, Imogen was very happy when the fruit salad came because she could enjoy it and fiddle with her spoon. Her restlessness abated somewhat and she got tasty fruit to boot.

“Get in line Lucas. Or maybe get a clue.” Imogen flashed the lone boy a look, her dying curls flicking over her shoulder as she turned. He was such a skirt chaser. She herself was clearly joking however. But then again, she’d likely fall head over heels for most of these girls at some point in the coming year. For now however the beautiful, the bold, the bikini-wearing Emily-Ann who was a regular at the local pool had that honour. Bless Serenade though...she was so cute in her cluelessness.

-Skanky porno AND video games.

The later, being closer to what he expected this morning. Sweet harem dating sim and what not. Not that he'd be in the least dissapointed if for some reason the girls mysterious sprang upon each other with jello and syrup, and fruit. Seriously, what man would turn that s**t down!? But yeah.. he didn't forsee that happening. If he was lucky though, he might be able to lure one of their pretty little faces off for some alone time later.

For the moment, he stayed at the door, as if he thought his presence could keep any of the timid wildebeasts from darting out the door.- "I didn't realize it was invitation based. Does that mean I can make it a morning routine?" -He asked simply because he could see it would irritate her, pierced eyebrow cocked. He could feel the ice coming off of her.

His attention was drawn elsewhere however, as Serenade's question sounded. Loli was one of the few things Lucas actually shied away from but innocent certainly was cute.- "I take sugar on whatever I can get it on. Just pour it right on me."

-His name lifted his head again, hunting out the oh so familar face of the young lady that often tossed insults and gruffness his way.- "Abelineee." -He smirked, letting her words roll straight off of him.- "Like that picture of got of your panties last week? I'm a big fan of lace you know."

-It probably wasn't true.. but.. who knew. He did have a habit of flashing off pics on his camera phone whenever he "knealt to pick up dropped books".-

Frowning, Jess quickly waved Serenade over, patting the empty seat beside her in an invitation to sit. The sooner the girl was away from Lucas, the happier she'd be.

"Don't listen to him, honey," she murmured reassuringly. "The sugar he's looking for is sex and or sloppy makeouts. He thinks that we're all stewing in our own lustful juices for him."

Better that Serenade know the truth and have a few illusions shattered than be hurt by the wolf in boy's clothing. Come to think of it, the truth might do Lucas a great deal of good as well. Maybe if he knew how repugnant most people considered him, he'd make an attempt to straighten up. Not likely, but Lady knew stranger things had happened.

The mouse had spotted the hawk and turned into a... something bigger than the hawk. Abeline decided to be heroic, and defend the poor Serenade before she was devoured by the Something that was Lucas, but she didn't need to, he had the attention span of... of, oh god he was talking directly to her; what the hell was she going to say!?!? And did he see those panties? Oh crap. Oh crap. He'd seen her panties last week and he'd probably done-

her fork came down and she retrieved a strawberry from her plate. Daintily biting it and pushing it into her mouth her eyes settled on Lucas. Although the heat had nothing to do with ice-cold emotion, that's probably what it looked like. Her ears were definitely pink now; if he talked to her for too long, the color had been known to spread to her cheeks. Someone had whispered that he must really piss her off once. Abeline had thanked them for small assumptions.

"The closest you've come to lace in a long time, Hendricks? Or at least lace on someone other than a computer model."

In dating sim terms, she had probably just been given the harder challenge rating on his scale of conquests, no doubt he thought all the girls here would just smile and fawn and- oh god, he smelled good. Too much aftershave, she could smell it from here. Her knees might have given way if she hadn't been sitting. A chunk of something she didn't taste hit her lips.

Nodding in response to Imogen, Fallon let her mind trickle to the variety of bars she would make for the curly-haired girl. Perhaps she would affix a special note to the box? Imogen was quite lovely, after all. She continued to smile and nod as everyone completed her little task. Noting that the card would fill soon, she brandished a pen and added a few extra lines on the card before placing it back precisely where it had been. Some of the girls in the kitchen that morning were regulars, but the new faces made Fallon feel a bit more secure. New faces were good. Especially new faces that listened to her Code of Behavior. Pretty though they might be, she was not above slapping a b***h for stepping out of the lines. Ahem.

As Serenade moved toward her, Fallon let her smile warm, turning her body to regard the girl with more dedicated eye contact. "It is a pleasure to cook for people," she said, hands moving methodically over the sauce, "especially someone as polite and charming as you. If you'd like, I could cook dinner for you sometime. I am always looking for people to try out new dishes." There was no pretense in her offer, just a polite smile and a little head nod. Fallon had a thing for demure girls, and Serenade seemed to be just that. Her general courtesy also suggested that she would have no problem following the guidelines that Fallon might set out for an interaction. Yep, definitely a girl worthy of pursuing.

When Serenade turned to regard Lucas, Fallon laughed, picturing the handfuls of sugar they must stomach on a daily basis. "Some people just don't care what they put in their mouths," she said, sharing a smile with Serenade. It was a bit of a dig at Lucas, but Fallon didn't care. She was largely indifferent to him, annoyed only by how many girls he got compared to her and his general cries for attention. Not every girl wanted to date another girl, and Fallon was usually younger than most of the people she pursued. Oh well. He had directed a question at her a bit ago, but Fallon finally got around to answering it several minutes later. "I do this every morning. As long as you do not disturb me or the others, you would be allowed to join, yes," she explained, tapping at the notecard again. If Lucas violated her space, he was likely to get a face full of hot oil. Seriously.

Her lips twitched into another smile at Abeline's comment, not reading into it as anything more than a sassy comment. Fallon liked sassy. When Imogen joined in, it seemed like a lovely collection of girls after all, each of them poking and prodding at Lucas for his intrusion. Light-hearted, sure, but still a bit of a rebuke.

Scooping up the English muffins, Fallon whipped out a frying pan and began to toast them. The hard-boiled eggs would be done any second, which meant the meal was almost ready to eat.
PostPosted: Mon Nov 09, 2009 7:29 am

The girl simply smiled and put her name on the card like Fallon asked her to. "I really shouldn't bother you! It's alright, really."

"But why," Serenade found herself replying, with a befuddled expression upon her face, "would anyone want to bathe in sugar? That's disgusting." She was entirely bemused by this thought; Lucas was really as strange as they said. Not that she bothered herself with gossip, but having meals with a bunch of her schoolmates everyday; she was bound to overhear some, whether she wanted to or not.

"Oh." Serenade said placidly as she sat beside Jess. "Oh." She looked unruffled by whatever her neighbour had said to her, and the rest might have thought that she hadn't understood what Jess had said. Serenade did, however; she did get things only when people laid out the facts straight to her, clearly. "Is this about the dating sims addiction? Because I'm trying out video games and I don't get what the hype is about that genre. It's really boring."

-Ouch! That was good, and had actually left him without a retort. He had had a pretty dry run since returning to the school, but he wasn't going to let that get him down. He attempted not to look phased by the insult, strolling into the kitchen and over to the little notecard, scrawling "Luver Under Cover" across one of the lines, before tapping it for Fallon.

Maybe he would come up here a little more often. The sausage fest that was floor one was nowhere near as exciting as a room full of girls. Even if most of them were staring daggers and throwing insults.

Bing bing bing!! The sudden mention of videogames whipped him around immediately, the sweet little darling quickly careening to his list of top girl in the room. Oh sweet jesus, yes. Gamer girl. Or so he thought.

Making his way over, he settled his hands on the back of her chair.- "I could show you some far more interesting games then that if you'd like? My collection is quite extensive. Strategy, first person shooter, even some of those girly rps."

"I like to keep myself well rounded. I'm a sensitive guy." -Right... He winked, just to add to the puckaliciousness.-

"Um." Serenade stated, tilting her head slightly in confusion at Lucas's sudden interest...oh wait, his talent was playing video games, wasn't it? Yes, it was something like that. She had always wondered how it classified as a talent, but well, if Barren Pines thought it was good enough for them to admit him into their school, it was fine with her.

"I'm only interested because of the soundtracks." She said. If people had been shocked as to why the dedicated Serenade who prided herself in practicing piano every single day, had actually taken up video games, they had their answer now. "Stuff like Final Fantasy. Nobuo Uematsu is a genius." Her face seemed to light up as she said this; it was clear that Serenade had a new person to add to her list of 'worshipped composers'. Music, music, music. Serenade really cared for nothing else.

7:45am.

BEEP. BEEP. BEEP

SMASH.

Stupid alarm. Viridiana's alarm had been going off every ten minutes since 6:55am, a time that she always tried to commit herself to. Always. ...But alas, it never quite seemed to work, and Viridiana usually stayed rolling from side to side in her bed uncomfortably until at least until the clock had loudly beeped at her at least four different times. Most of the time, she didn't get up until after ten of the beeps.

So Viridiana liked her beauty sleep. It kept her looking better than Hero Barrett, at least. With a tired, mild chuckle, Viridiana sat up in her cushy bed before glancing over to the door. She had actually gotten up early enough for Fallon's delicious breakfast today. Good, that meant she wasn't going to be stuck eating toaster pastries or cereal again. After a while, it just got tiring, and there was nothing quite like a homecooked meal and a chance to schmooze her way into everyone's hearts.

She rolled out of bed onto the floor with a whump, before standing up gracefully as if nothing significant had happened. Viridiana headed over to her dresser to get herself into her perfectly ironed uniform. After a few minutes, once she was perfectly primped, Viridiana headed out the door to join her fellow classmates.

It looked like there was already a crowd... including that dumbass Lucas. Who was he going to get rejected by today? A beautiful, blushing girl with platinum hair and a glowing complexion; ah, yes, that was Serenade. Viridiana sincerely doubted that Lucas was going to get serenaded by anyone today. With a roll of her eyes, Viridiana ran a hand through her dark lavender locks before heading over to Fallon's little kitchenette.

"Good morning Fallon," offered Viridiana, with a bright smile, before she grabbed a pen and scrawled 'Diana Lombardi' on the small index card. She paused momentarily to eyeball the card--and therefore, everyone else in the room--scoffing briefly when she saw 'Luver Under Cover' as the name above hers. Yeah... Lucas was only good at making love with his video games. She bet he learned his interactions with women through the world of hentai. Dumbass.

Despite her internal ranting, though, the cheerful expression never seemed to leave her face even for a moment. "What's on the menu today?" Honestly, Viridiana didn't really care. Anything was good to her, but Viridiana was a master at feigning interest in things that didn't much matter to her personal existence. "Whatever it may be, it certainly smells delicious. Are those spices I smell?"

Fallon would have preferred if Serenade remained near her, but her face didn't falter when the girl walked away. She had food to attend to anyway. With a few more flourishes, she had a handful of blue dishes lined up on the counter. The ham in the oven was done, and the eggs were totally poached. Excellent. As Diana approached, Fallon began to gently place the toasted English muffins on the plate, moving with the skill and care of a surgeon. Once that was done, she pulled out the ham and began to place a thick cut on everyone's plate.

With her plating well underway, she kept her eyes locked on the dishes, but continued a conversation with Diana. "Eggs Benedict. Or at least my spin on it. There is a vanilla infusion in the yolk to give it a sweet aftertaste. You'll have to tell me what you think." Vanilla infusions had been her most recent obsession, and the girl was injecting, marinating, and drizzling the stuff on to everything. Heading back to the fridge, she pulled out the fruit and portioned out some for the new arrivals. The table was filling quickly, which was a great thing for the chef-savant. She brushed past Lucas and returned to her plates.

Gently, she plopped an egg on top of each piece of ham, and sprinkled more spice from an unmarked can. Fallon never marked her jars. She didn't need to do it. She could identify all the herbs she used on scent alone. Turning back to Diana, she continued the conversation, "Always the right amount of spices." She smiled, drizzling her sauce all over the creations in tight criss-crosses. It was an unneeded flourish for a simple breakfast meal, but Fallon would allow herself no less.

Stacking several plates on her arms, she dropped one off at each person's place setting. "Breakfast is ready," she said, as if it wasn't totally obvious. Her own breakfast remained sitting by the sink. She'd get to it just as soon as she started all the dishes soaking.

-It was actually a mystery to Lucas as well WHY they'd accepted him into the school for the gifted. While most others had geniunely useful gifts his was... not so much. Far cooler though, yes.

Maybe the school was in plans to make some brainwashing video software and they were fine tuning the boy to their test subject? The stupidity of the thought made him grin. His hands patted the back of the chair, sliding to give her shoulder a little squeeze.- "Ahhh. Well I can't say I'm much of an expert on that. But they spend alot of time and money on them. I wouldn't be surprised if you didn't take a liking to some other soundtracks as well."

"Offer is always open. Floor 1, room 18."

-He eyed the newest enterant with a mild nod, eyes shifting back to Fallon as she brushed past him, reading FAR more into it then there was. Maybe he'd been wrong about her coldness before? Maybe she was just a coy little minx.

As a plate plunked down, apparently for him, his hand made a beeline for her a**, settling there lightly with the nonchalance as if he were just shaking hands. Lucas and personal space weren't really aquainted.- "Bitchin' spread Fallon. It smells amazing."

Fallon doesn't react well to societal violations.
Well, really, any violations.

The moment Lucas touched her a**, she did the first thing that came to mind. The plate that balanced neatly in her palm was suddenly gripped tightly. She spun in one fluid motion and slammed it full-force into his face. This was not a playful food fight slam; this was a hey-is-his-nose-broken kind of strike. The plate cracked under the force and fell to the ground, shattering at her feet. The brunt of it had probably made contact with his forehead, causing the break in the plate. It was a bit lucky; if it had hit his nose, the pain and damage would have been much worse.

If Lucas could see through the destroyed Eggs Benedict smearing his face, he would be met with the stare of a crazy person. Fallon's jaw was jutting out, eyes wide, brow narrowed. It was a rare glimpse of the very negative flipside of her OCD, and one that manifested itself violently whenever anyone crossed a line. Usually, they got a warning. Lucas had not been so fortunate. "GET THE <********> OFF," she said, not quite a shout but merely a very, very loud statement. Of course, she had essentially forced him off of her, but the sentiment was clear.

Fallon's chest rose and fell in uneven beats, and she did not move, fists clenched at her sides. He was lucky she wasn't holding the knife. Seriously. An uncomfortable silence was bound to follow, but Fallon was not in her mind. She was in a La-La Land where everyone did what she said, and ate her food, and did NOT touch her without her initiating it. She was probably counting to 1000 and telling herself that she was in a small, quiet place all alone counting the number of blades of grass in a field.

It was a bit like a scene from Carrie. Fallon was not moving. Awkward.

Azzo had been searching for Fallon all morning long, and upon reaching the second floor he smelled her cooking and laughed, "Ahh so this is where they hid the Chef."

He was walking leisurely when suddenly he heard something very much like Fallon yelling and sighed, "Oh god.... I wonder who she just killed this time." Azzo did not enjoy running but he broke into a quick sprint just in time to find Lucas having be smacked by a plate and Fallon standing there pissed.

He grave another sigh, Lucas was one he tried to avoid, at all costs. The air hung thick with Fallon's rage. "Damnit, and here I thought you guys could get along with out me!" He knew his hypnotism didn't work wonders, but he could always try to fix certain things. Which he thought afterwords now wasn't the time to try to be funny either. He looked back at Lucas, and considering the situation at least he wasn't dead. Azzo stood slightly out of the door frame peeking in hoping that Fallon wouldn't throw the plate at him for speaking.

Lucas seemed as sensitive as a rock so far. Imogen didn’t say it though, instead just listening to the general conversation and finishing her coffee. Once that was done, she sat fiddling with her fruit salad until the Eggs Benedict arrived. Vanilla infusions into something savoury sounded…well, it sounded odd but she wasn’t a chef. She was a mediocre cook. Fallon however knew her stuff so Imogen was ready to give it a try.

“This smells re- “ She’d started a compliment, grabbing for a fork, when Lucas confirmed his rock-status by doing something stupid and got a plate to the face for his trouble. And then Azzo arrived as well.

“Don’t make light of it.” She snapped. Overreaction was what Imogen did and on Fallon’s behalf she was angry herself. Stupid boys; coming and messing up one of the usually enjoyable breakfast socials of the second floor. She knew better than to go comfort Fallon, who was probably trying to calm her rage and certainly didn’t need more uninitiated bodily contact right now. So the redhead turned to boys, getting up from her place and clearly mad.

“Sorry to dump this on you Azzo but could you get Lucas out of here please? Take the plank to see the nurse if he needs to.”

Azzo looked slightly glum, all he wanted was his salsa made. "... yeah sure, wasn't makin light of it anyways, was just happy she hadn't killed 'em. S'the last thing I wanna do is bury another body."

He shuttered at the thought before looking at Lucas, trying to smile but it kind of faltered as his mind popped back to last year, "Eh, hey Imogen and girls, if you could, help put out word I need a new assistant?"

He looked towards Lucas before moving slowly to fetch him, "Come on stud, lets go see how many bones you got broke this time." He paused looking at Fallon before edging his way around her, giving the poor girl as much space as possible, to escort poor Lucas out, "When you're up to it, got a favor to ask you Fallon, later of course."
