Pipi stopped when Lala suddenly stopped, she hadn't meant to cause a problem exactly but it was a valid concern. She didn't like thinking Lala really wasn't a part of her new home, wasn't really accepting it. Because if Pipi kept thinking that way, she was sure she would keep arguing with Lala. And, no doubt, she would start some arguments with Gebali because obviously he was to blame. She wouldn't question Lala on it now, but until she was sure about everything, she couldn't seem to find it in her to call Lala Baridi or to think of her as Baridi. She would need time to adjust.
"OK," she said after some hesitation.

Baridi didn't have much more to say, she could reassure and reassure Pipi, but the other female was still going to feel the way she felt and Baridi was still going to feel the same. She started to walk again at the pace she had set before.
"I want you to know..well that I am still your sister, I might go by another name and I might act a bit stranger than before. But, we're still family and I'm still the same lioness you knew..just..just a new home and another lion I've added to our family."
She looked around, things were looking more familiar, she knew a specific moss formation on a fallen log and saw a plant that she'd walked through before that made her paws itch.
"We'll be there soon, you'll see everything for yourself."

"OK," Pipi repeatedly, still quiet and neutral sounding on the topic. She would form her own opinions but she was tired of making Lala defend herself. It would take a while, but she would figure everything out for herself. And she certainly wouldn't accept any new name until she was comfortable, but she was going to give it a shot. She was here for Lala, that was what mattered most to her. So she followed along contently.
