Stardust observed Hazalinia silently as she ate. Here was another individual whom shared similar interests and he was intrigued about her reactions. Studying and learning about a mare such as Hazalinia would be an arduous task. He was willing to take the chance to find what he believed were her hidden depths. Swiveling his head around Stardust glanced back towards the bright orb in the sky before sighing softly. Tonight was indeed an unexpected encounter. Stardust listened as Haze spoke again and in his mind was anticipating the mare's reaction to his reply. For it would certainly bring out something. What it would be ... Stardust could not pinpoint.
"I have had luck it's true. But perhaps now Fate turns its wheels in another direction."

Hazalinia tilted her head and looked at the stallion curiously. "Another direction?" she asked, then suddenly laughed. "Are you saying this meeting is perhaps bad luck then?" she teased, hoping that he meant somethign quite different. It took a great bit of will to not backtrack and apologize for the laughter and pursue another course, but Haz really was curious how he'd react to her twist on his words.

Stardust listened to Hazalinia laugh and ask her questions. He let the silence envelop them once again before letting a small chuckle of his own escape him. He pawed the earth with his right hoof before speaking. "Ah. No. I would not allude to this meeting being bad luck. What I allude to with my earlier statement is that maybe luck has no part in this meeting between us. Maybe something more powerful is at work."
This would probably startle Hazalinia but Stardust believed something more was involved in the moment.

Haz's tail swished as if chasing away a cloud of insects but it was really only her nerves at the silence. A relieved sigh escaped her when she heard him chuckle at last. It would serve me right if I scared him off being so odd, she chided herself then focused her attention fully on Stardust as he spoke.
She ducked her head in an embarassed "blush" attempting to find words. Two often loners with a similar interest and lifestyle meeting on a beautiful night like this, but then was she now reading too much in his statement. "I... I was thinking that was perhaps what you meant. Maybe it'd be nice to have some company on more than luck's whim?"

Stardust watched as Hazalinia after he'd made his little announcement and smiled softly as the mare seemingly ducked her head in embarrassment. Well that was an interesting reaction. However the stallion pawed at the earth once more before moving closer to Hazalinia.
"Luck is always nice of course but the pull of the unknown is even more interesting."
Stardust closed the gap between himself and Hazalinia and stood silently at her side. If she was uncomfortable with his closeness he would, of course, move away.

Haze's nerves were still up her tail swishing again as Stardust came closer. "Hmm pull of the unknown is it?" she said looking at him curiously. "I like the sound of that acctually." There was certainly a whole world of possiblities opening on this moonlit night. Now she had a handsome starry stallion closer to her than she'd been to another Soquilli in a very very long time and it was really nice. It was good to be able to talk to someone again. A lot of her strangeness came from being separate from a herd for so long. She really was one made for company when it really came down to it.
Memories of her childhood came to her, the love of a closeknit family, and especially her father's curiously gentle red eyes. When she looked up to see Stardust's light blue eyes she was momentarily confused. "It really has been too long since I've been in company," she said by way of explaination as she pushed the memories back.

Stardust watched the play of emotions cross Haz's face and listened to her words before nuzzling the mare softly. There was no hidden motive but to lend a little bit of comfort. He pulled back after and waited for a moment before letting his voice fill the night air.
"Well ... I know that I am feeling less alone after meeting you Hazalinia Moongazer. The night is still young though. Perhaps ... if it is not a burden to you may I make a request to be able to stay by your side for a while?"

Hazalinia flinched a bit before relaxing and returning the comforting nuzzle. That someone would reach out to her like that meant so much. She smiled at his words.
"I'm glad that you are less lonely," she replied. "And it is certainly no burden, it lightens my heart to hear it and I'd be very happy to have you around as long as you wish. I would not want my company to be a burden to you."
