Vincent blushed and shook his head. "I don't think I'll be a master, Mr. Cat, but I'll keep trying until I stop getting better," he promised with a nod. He took the paper gratefully, and looked over it. "I'd like to stay for a little while longer, Mr. Cat. My mom said she'd come pick me up at a certain time, and well. It's not time for her to come get me yet," he explained vaguely. "She's a teacher here too. Maybe you know her."
He paused, and looked back at the paper. "They don't look especially easy," he commented with a slight frown. "I think I will require your assistance for a bit, Mr. Cat. Maybe I'll visit my mom's classroom after we're done."

Cat smiled warmly and nodded back at his pupil, feathers fluffing in pleasure. "Well, that's all I ask, Vinny." Nodding, he blinked as he thought through the people he'd seen throughout his time here, which admittedly wasn't many. Of course, given the nature of the establishment, it was very unlikely that he would be able to pick out Vincent's mom out of a crowd. He shrugged easily. "I can't think of a face, but you're right; I've likely passed her in the halls. I'm new here, so I don't know that many people."
He nodded again. "Alrighty then. So, where should we start...?" He leaned over Vincent's shoulder, peering at the paper before straightening up. "Okay, a triangle, why not. So, you just made a circle, right? Well, to make points, you have to move your hands like you're forming it." He gestured in example, then smiled at Vincent. "Make some sort of sense?"

"My mom's new here too," Vincent said with a smile and a nod. "She's an elf though, so you'll know her when you see her. At least, I think you will... I don't know if there are any other elves working here." Honestly, he didn't know many of the teachers. "I know she'd be interested in meeting you, though. I don't think she's ever met an Eilian, no matter how old she is."
He paused, and listened to Cat. "I'll try, it doesn't sound that much harder than a circle, really," he closed his eyes and focused, moving his hands in front of him and forming a triangle with clawed thumbs and fingers. He tried to keep his focus; but couldn't help wondering if he was doing it right.

Cat nodded at Vincent's description of his mother, still not recognizing anyone that he had seen but stowing it away for future reference. "Well, I'd be happy to meet her too. I've never met an elf before. I'll be sure to say hi when I see her," he assured his student with a smile.
"It's not, don't worry," Cat said, watching Vincent's technique and the result critically. At first, the shadow in the light merely wobbled, but after a few seconds it obediently moved itself into a triangle. A slightly uneven triangle, but one nonetheless. "Well done, Vinny. I think you really have the hang of this," he said happily. "You can see for yourself if you want, or we can try something else."
