This RP took place in the main GMFC thread, beginning with my post. It is being used to help with the requirements of two appointments, which is hopefully acceptable seeing as eventually the RP will split off to each of them being in a different area. Eventually Hitsu goes in to see a nurse, while Sphinx and Amon go across the street to the park with Natalia and her parents.

Quite suddenly, the main door to the Clinic swung open. Through it rushed a young brunette, who made a beeline to the front desk.

"Restroom," she gasped, looking flushed. "Please."

Behind her the door had opened again for Sphinx and Amon's entry, the both of them staring at their caretaker with confusion.

When pointed in the right direction by the receptionist, the woman made no hesitation and hurried there. Even before making it to her destination, there was a sound of retching followed by her running footfalls as her need to visit a toilet just became more desperate.

Amon continued to stare off in the direction that she had gone, before looking up at his father questioningly. "Where Hitsu go?"

"Bathroom. Sick, I guess." He responded, brow furrowed in his concern. This wasn't like her, usually she barely acted ill for a day and a half... This had lasted at least a couple of weeks now.
Kawaii_Hime_Ceres
Ceres had, had one hell of a week to put it mildly. Since the car accident everything seemed to snowball. One thing led to another and then another and each seemed worse than the last.

The most recent disaster was that her daughter had been led astray by a handful of promises the island itself had made to her. Oh the island had sure fulfilled its promises but there was always that saying when something was too good to be true it usually was just that to good to be true. But her daughter was young and had recently gone through something horrible and was looking for a quick fix.

Natalia had gotten that fix, but with a price. She had the ability to use her wings but with it no memory of being human.. She had wealth but not where to spend it. She was happy but she had no one to really share it with.

Ceres in her weakened state could not undo what had been done. So, she set out to do it the old fashion way. Firstly, she had to get Natalia to trust her. Once that had been accomplished she had convinced her to let her care for her. Now, that all that had been settled she was going to help Natalia recover her memories and hopefully regain that human body she had been born with.

Natalia didn't care for anything thus far that she had seen on Gaia and was reluctant to continue to follow to Ceres. She just wanted to go home- back to the fields.

"Here we are," Ceres said as she opened the door of the clinic. Even if Ceres couldn't get her to remember this place she at least hoped that Natalia would connect with someone.
Hitsuzen
When the door had opened again, the boys looked toward it to see another woman leading someone into the clinic. Though, unexpectedly, that someone just happened to be a horse. With wings. The duo stared. Sphinx, despite where he had come from, could never recall seeing a Pegasus. Or, at least, not this close up.

Sphinx had planted himself in a chair, as not to get in the way nor spook the creature.

Amon, on the other hand, had practically skipped his way toward the door before Sphinx could so much as realize what he was doing.

"Amon!" He hissed, and gestured to the seat beside him.

His father going ignored, Amon paused a little ways away and looked up at the pegasus with wide eyes. He really wanted to get a closer look at it, as he'd never even seen a horse up close before. However, in seconds came a typical question when it concerned animals and children. "May I pet?" Well, at least he knew his manners.
Kawaii_Hime_Ceres
Natalia's ears flickered as she watched the child. Not that she would express it out loud but she half wondered why she couldn't remember growing up- she only remembered herself since yesterday it seemed. She lowered her head to get a closer look at the child. Every inch of her body shimmered and sang as she moved. "Yes. You may pet me." To her amazement she spoke perfect, understandable English and not just the equine she spoke to the woman that called herself her mother. To further aid the small one she folded her legs under her and 'laid' down.

Ceres watched Natalia with amazement. Despite everything that had happened and was still going on she was gentle. She was thankful that the personality trait had not been lost. She felt strange having to rely on her daughter for site- but it would only be for a little while longer until Sky caught up with them.
Hitsuzen
Amon had looked to the woman for a reply to his question, he hadn't expected the Pegasus to respond. He grinned in his excitement as Natalia leaned down to look at him, but waited patiently for her to settle down on the floor. He plopped down on his rump in front of her, and carefully extended a hand at arms length to stroke her nose. He held his hand very flat, like he was trying to avoid poking her with his little claws. Even if he had, it wouldn't have hurt, they'd been filed smooth to keep the toddler from scratching himself by accident.

He smiled broadly, "Soft horsie." He withdrew his hand, and placed it quietly in his lap. He continued to look Natalia in the eyes from where he sat, be it out of continued awe or in waiting to see if she would speak to him again.

At last, he spoke again himself. "What your name?" He put a hand to his own little chest, "I'm Amon." Then he turned just enough to look behind him, and pointed at the very bewildered looking Sphinx. "An' that my daddy."

For lack of knowing much else to do other than gawk at them, Sphinx waved quietly.
Kawaii_Hime_Ceres
Natalia kept very still while Amon 'petted' her. It was an odd sensation- something she had never felt before. It wasn't a disliked thing. She actually rather liked it which almost spooked her. But she didn't let any of those thoughts show through emotion.

"I don't remember," Natalia said honestly. "But that woman over there that calls herself my mother- she calls me Natalia." If she could have smile she would have. She gave a soft whicker when she was finished talking. She really wanted to 'petted' some more. She nuzzled her face against Amon's arms when he stopped. She didn't want him to think that he had to stop after just a couple strokes.

Ceres sat down slowly. Age made things difficult. Especially when were aging rapidly. She watched Natalia and the boy called Amon with a smile. She was impressed at how gentle Natalia was and half wondered if her daughter was better off. But still she wanted her daughter to remember and to actually have a choice in things. "My name is Ceres," she said when asked.
Hitsuzen
It really didn't seem to bother Amon, that Natalia had said she forgotten her name. But, perhaps he was just too young to understand... "Na-ta-lia." He sounded, clearly trying to get the pronunciation correct. He smiled, looking briefly over to Ceres. "Cer-es your momma?" He paused for just a moment, "I have no momma." It was just a statement on his part, there really was no regret or sadness to be heard. Though, with so many people in his household, the absence of someone he couldn't ever recall interacting with wasn't something he could really miss.

He giggled when Natalia nuzzled his arms, and began to stroke her nose again. It really was very soft, he liked he feel of it. "I like your gold," he said, referring to all of the jewelry that adorned Natalia. "Daddy said when I'm big, I get gold too."

Sphinx just continued to watch them quietly, relieved that Amon didn't seem to be a bother as he'd been concerned about. The sound of footfalls nearby caught his attention, and he looked up to see Hitsu returning to the waiting room.

She had stopped for a moment, looking from the children and Ceres to Sphinx. "Who's this?"

"Natalia, and Ceres." Sphinx replied, gesturing with tilts of his head from the Pegasus to the woman alongside her. "Are you alright?"

"Fine," she said, with a quick change in subject. "Ceres? You can sit here, if you'd like." She wanted to be polite, and Hitsu was certain that Sphinx probably hadn't thought to offer. Or, perhaps she'd just like to stay with Natalia.
Kawaii_Hime_Ceres
"You've got it," Natalia said in response to him sounding out her name. She tossed her head up in down in approval. "Natalia." Delighted that Amon was petting her again she chuckled, which sounded more like a whicker. "I like shiny things too. Especially bells," her voice gave away her joy. "I bet you'll be one of the most handsome men when you grow up and wear all that gold." This gave away her view that material possessions were important- she hadn't learned yet otherwise.

Ceres looked in the direction of the voice. With Natalia's eyes being the only eyes she could use at the moment the only thing she could see was Amon. Silently she hoped that Sky would arrive shortly- she didn't like feeling vulnerable. "I'm fine on the floor," she said with a smile. "It is one of the best places to be when you have small ones."
Hitsuzen
Bells? Amon had seen bells before. "I like bells," he stated, "They make nice sound." It was hard telling if he meant a soft sound, or if he - like most young children - enjoyed ringing a bell as frantically and loudly as he could if he got hold of one.

When told he'd be handsome in all of his gold when he grew up, Amon nodded enthusiastically. "Just like daddy!" That seemed the most exciting part to him, rather than the adornments themselves. Aside from a few favorite toys that he was at times possessive over, Amon wasn't very materialistic. Not with inanimate objects, at least. He did love his housemates, his 'family' as they were.

The toddler's amazement of Natalia continued, as he found another question he craved to know the answer to. He pointed to her feathery white wings, "You go up?" Fly was apparently not in his immediate vocabulary, "Like bird?"

Hitsu had nodded to Ceres, and returned the smile. As best she could, anyway, her stomach was still feeling queasy. "Alright," she replied, "She is very beautiful, by the way."

Sphinx had his attention locked on the children. It was great to see Amon interacting with someone outside of their household, let alone taking to them so quickly. Not to say he was shy, but Sphinx had been worried since he hadn't been exposed to many children so far. He was being friendly, polite and very social. While he hadn't yet learned entirely correct grammar, he was certainly heading in the right direction. Sphinx couldn't hope for much more right now. He was proud, even though he'd probably not be caught saying it to anyone but the child.
Kawaii_Hime_Ceres
"Yes, Bells. They are one of my favorite shiny objects because they make noise." Natalia blinked a couple times as her a pain shot their head. She didn't know what to call it, but there it was in the back of her mind an image of a little girl with vibrantly colored ribbons woven into her head and bells and laughter.

"Amon is adorable," Ceres said with a smile. She kept her face turned in the direction of the voice. "I'm sorry to come off as rude but is Amon yours and his?" She had barely heard the other mans voice but she knew he was there. "Forgive me, I do not see like others so I am uncertain who he has traits of," her voice was apologetic.

Natalia tried not to let Amon notice the sudden change. Her focus returned in just enough time to here him say 'you go up'. Taking just another moment to process the sentence for clarity she tossed her head up and down. "Yes, up!" She hadn't calculated the size the room ever and thus she didn't realize the outcome as she spread her wings for Amon. Tables turned over and magazines spilled everywhere.

Because of her lack of site Ceres was unaware of what was happening until it was to late. Perfect timing as Sky had just come into the door. "Natlaia!" he called out to stop her from completely spreading her wing.

Natalia stopped mid spread when she heard her name and before she could make a mess of anything else. She continued to ignore her dad otherwise. "You can pet," she said knowing that Amon understood that word better than touch.
Hitsuzen
"Thank you," Hitsu had replied to Ceres, probably further suggesting the woman's thought that she may be a parent of the child. As quickly as Ceres had asked the question, though, she shook her head. "I am not, at least not in the biological sense. You see, Sphinx - his father - is from a little petshop in Chinatown... I'm their caretaker. So, I suppose in a manner, I am like a parent to Amon."

"She helps out enough to be," Sphinx added, "I don't think males are at all cut out to be single parents..."

"Almost everything about Amon resembles his father," Hitsu continued, "Except his streak of blue hair and his little tabby tail. He's got his mother's eye color, as well."

Hitsu hadn't spoken in contempt at all, but a look at Sphinx's scornful expression would have made it obvious he wasn't keen on the subject anymore.

When Natalia had spread her wings, Amon had squealed in surprise. Startled? Not at all. All of the noise only seemed to entertain him more, like it had all been intended in her display to show how powerful her wings were. He clapped and giggled, failing to even realize she'd been scolded by someone at all in his amusement.

He was on his feet even before Natalia had offered him the chance to touch her wings, but hadn't dared to do so until that point. Amon went up alongside her and examined one of her wings closely, before curiously petting the feathers and lacing his fingers between some of the bigger ones. Her wings were just like a bird! Only bigger, of course. "I like them."
Kawaii_Hime_Ceres
"In any case you've both got a delightful child," Ceres said with a smile. "I have never believed that only one person is meant to raise a child. Sometimes it takes a village," she chuckled. "It builds character and such. Natalia has Sky and myself but also her seven siblings."

As Sky looked over the mess he rubbed his temples. He knew Ceres was finally getting a good look at it to but since she didn't stress he wasn't about to. He took a few deep calming breaths. "We'll just clean it before we go." He glanced over at Amon and Natalia and smiled. "They seem to be enjoying themselves." Then he shifted his glance back over to the couple. "I'm Sky, her father." He wasn't about to dive into that complicated story unless asked.

"Thank you," Natalia said politely in response to the boy liking her feathers. "Let's see," she said as she ruffled her feathers. Sure as she was sure a couple fell out- nothing that would be missed. "A couple as a gift." She rubbed her muzzle against Amon's shoulder and whickered softly. She had never had anyone play with the feathers on her wings- though it was a new feeling and almost strange it was delightful.
Hitsuzen
"We have... Quite a large family at home." Hitsu chuckled, "Though I think a couple of them are trying to teach him how to be a troublemaker instead of a well-mannered little gentleman."

Sphinx gave a short laugh, frowning a bit. "Yeah, thankfully the others seem to be teaching him better."

Hitsu nodded toward Sky when he spoke, "That they are, it's cute to watch isn't it?" When he introduced himself, she offered a smile. "I'm Hitsuzen. This is Sphinx, Amon's father. Amon is, of course, the little one there with your daughter."

"Oohh!" Amon exclaimed, as Natalia stated that he got to keep two of her pretty feathers. Amon stooped down to pick up the feathers that floated to the floor, and in his excitement ran over to Sphinx and Hitsu to show them. "Look, look! Natalia gave them to me!" He explained proudly, holding one up in each hand.

Hitsu couldn't help but laugh, "I saw! They are very pretty. Did you tell Natalia 'thank you'?"

He'd forgotten! "I will," he stated, and held the feathers out to Sphinx for him to take for him.

"We'll have to put them somewhere safe when we get home, so they don't get lost." Sphinx said, accepting them gently.

Amon returned to Natalia just as quickly as he had run off, smiling broadly. "Thank you for your feathers."
Kawaii_Hime_Ceres
Natalia gave a delighted whicker at the boys happiness. She watched him run from one place to the next. He had so much energy and it tickled her on the inside to watch him. "You're very welcome," she said when he finally returned to sit next to her. She wouldn't have been offended if she hadn't gotten a thank you. His happiness was enough.

"If you want I can fashion you something right here to hold those feathers in. He could wear them around his neck," Ceres made the offer. Making a simple piece of jewelry wouldn't exhaust her to much.

Natalia preferring to stand she slowly did so. She stretched the length of herself before shaking her head. Every inch of her sang as she did so. "Sorry," she apologized for being so abrupt. "This place really isn't big enough for me. How about we go to the park across the street." She looked behind her and out the door.

Ceres was rather shocked that Natalia was wanting to do such a thing. It was still strange and overwhelming that her daughter truly did not remember a thing. "If you take up the offer it can also be done across the street at the park."

"I don't have any objections," Sky smiled and helped Ceres to stand. Had he not already been standing it would have been a more joint effort thing- old age and all.
Hitsuzen
Ceres' offer clearly grabbed Amon's attention, "Really?" To think that he could carry them all the time to show others his unique gift was an idea that he liked.

"That would be nice of you," Sphinx had replied, unable to miss the boy's enthusiasm at the idea.

Hitsu, while agreeing, hoped that it wasn't a bother. "Only if it isn't too much trouble, Ceres."

Amon got to his feet again when Natalia had decided to stand. He felt very short all over again, the equine seemed to tower above his small body. He was beaming at the offer to go to the park, there were always plenty of places to play and explore in the park. "I want to go!" He exclaimed, turning to look at his father and Hitsu in wait of their permission.

"Sure," Sphinx confirmed with a nod, "I'm sure we could all use the fresh air and sunshine."

"You two go and have fun, and I'll catch up as soon as I can," Hitsu said. When Sphinx gave her a questioning look, she gave a short excuse. "I've got to speak with one of the doctors."

He seemed to find the answer reason to concern, but he said nothing against it. "Alright, we'll see you in a little while."

With that he rose, tucking the feathers into a pocket of Amon's toy and supply bag carefully before stepping over to help tidy what mess Natalia had made in showing Amon her wings so that Sky didn't have to do so alone.
Kawaii_Hime_Ceres
"Yes, really. And, it isn't any trouble," Ceres said with an enthusiastic smile. "But, we'll do it once we get to the park and are settled again." She directed this towards Amon. She could easily tell that Natalia was getting restless- it was a common thing since she'd earn this new body of hers.

"Thank You," Sky said to Sphinx as he started to help him. He was thankful that the mess wasn't to bad from when Natalia spread her wings. "Kids can make such a mess," he said in a whisper but it was followed by an immediate grin.

Natalia didn't concern herself with anyone but Amon. "If you can promise not to kick my wings I'll give you a ride across the street." she could see the mix of discomfort and excitement in his eyes. She knew that it must be overwhelming to stand up next to something when there was a size difference. She lowered her head and nuzzled him against his cheek.
Hitsuzen
"Okay!" Amon replied, unable to hide his excitement. He was getting a gift, and getting to play outside with his new friend! What more could he ask for?

"No problem," Sphinx said, "If Amon hadn't commented on her wings I'm sure this wouldn't have happened." Not that he sounded annoyed by it, but surely it only made sense for him to help since Amon was partially responsible. He chuckled lightly, "Yes, they can. Though fortunately, I think the worst I've had to clean up so far is a broken cookie jar, and dropped food and drink in general."

The day only seemed to get better when Natalia offered to give Amon a ride across the street. His eyes grew wide with surprise, but he was quick to agree to her rule, "I promise!" He giggled when he nuzzled her again, petting her nose. He'd never ridden a horse before, this would be fun!

Sphinx had overheard, "Just be careful, Amon. Hold on tight, so you don't fall off." The father, of course, had full intention to walk alongside, so that the toddler wouldn't do just that.

"Hitsuzen Grausherra?" Came a call from one of the doorways, a nurse holding a clipboard "You can come back now."

Hitsu rose from her chair, looking a bit nervous. Though, she managed a smile toward the others before she disappeared into the hall. "See you soon, have fun in the park."

Hitsu Solo Here

**********

Hitsu hadn't expected to meet Sphinx and Amon at the Clinic's door.

"Hey," he said, stepping back so she could exit.

"Hey," Hitsu replied, looking up to him as though he'd startled her.

"Everything alright, Hitsu?" Sphinx asked, brow furrowed. Something was bothering her, he could sense it.

"Not… Entirely."

Sphinx frowned. "What's wrong?"

Hitsu shook her head, and started toward the parking lot. "It'll have to wait until we get home, Sphinx." Hitsu didn't want to break her news in front of Amon, for fear it would take no time to spread through the household.

Sphinx, at least for now, had to be the only one to know what was wrong with her... That she was pregnant.

This RP took place over PM. Some of Hitsu's housemates are growing ever more concerned about her strange behavior, despite how much she's trying to hide it. Sphinx is concerned about most of all, thus far being the only one who knows the truth of why she's been acting so strangely. Hitsu leaves, alone she believes, to meet with Skye with unexpected and important news.

Hitsuzen
"Let me go with you."

"I can't do that, Sphinx."

"Why not?"

"Because, I... I have to take care of this by myself."

Try to take care of this by herself... Hopefully this would be all she was doing alone, when it came to the matter at hand. Telling them, and then everything would be easy and they could face this together... She could hope for it, but even with her personality Hitsu had the feeling she was being very delusional.

Sphinx had been hanging around Hitsu worriedly for the past several days, ever since they had returned from the clinic. Even a couple of their housemates had questioned it, but Sphinx had defensively answered that he was only concerned about how she hadn't been feeling well.

They'd known it was a lie, and all of them knew something was amiss. Sphinx was well aware. They couldn't all be as unobservant as he hoped... If Amon could see it, how could he expect the others not to?

At least Yuki seemed too preoccupied to notice, with what the feline did not know, nor care.

He was keeping up with her pace as they both moved toward the front door. Just as her hand grasped the knob, Sphinx put a hand to the door and pressed his weight against it.

Hitsu looked up at him in question, almost angrily.

He leaned in close, locking his eyes with hers and speaking softly as not to be heard by anyone else.

"What will you do if he abandons you there? Will you be able to come back home and put on a fake smile, in hopes that nobody will notice that something is wrong?"

There was a long pause. Before she adverted her gaze to face the doorknob, Sphinx had seen that fear in her eyes. So, she didn't think it was going to be so easy, after all.

"He wouldn't do that," she murmured, "...not Skye."

She didn't say anything more, nor did Sphinx. Hesitantly, Sphinx drew away from the door. With him out of the way, Hitsu finally opened the door and left without a word. Once it had clicked shut, Sphinx sighed.

"You'll follow her?"

The voice had come from behind, a little way down the entry hall, and nearly startled Sphinx. Recognizing the voice, he did not turn to face Vincent and merely shrugged. There wasn't really any point in asking if he'd overheard, Vincent would understand that the truth would reveal itself in due time.

"I figured I'd let her get a head start..."

-----

Walking to the park was a long, lonely trip when one was alone and burdened with their worries. Hitsu came to realize this long before she arrived. Several times she'd thought about what Sphinx had said, hoping that such a thing would never happen, but wondering what she would do if it did.

Surely they would be supportive, right?

Well, maybe not so much the second she had to speak with, but... Skye, surely, would be responsible.

Seeking out a specific bench near a small patch of trees, she waited. Skye wasn't here yet, but she'd arrived about half an hour early. That was the reason he wasn't here, she told herself.

She really was going to have to mention to Sphinx later, just how much she appreciated him making her paranoid before she left.
Skye Darkhawk
Hitsu had called him just the other night asking him for a date. A bit short on the conversation about it; he felt, almost as if there was something on her mind. He shrugged the feeling off, and debated all night if he should show up early, just on time, or a little late. Early would show that he was too eager to meet up with her again, and being on time would indicate that he was excited to meet with her again yet not still not have enough enthusiasm to get there early, and showing up late would prey on her emotions and make the date a bit more worthwhile; so late it would be, fifteen minutes should suffice for his motives. Of course, to ease the tension when he finally arrived, he would have a handful of Hitsu's favorite flower, in her favorite color, a near impossibility in nature, but not for him. He also packed up a light picnic lunch in a traditional weaved basket, not wanting to laden their stomachs in the event something more interesting might happen throughout the afternoon.

He gave Hitsu a call about ten minutes before he was supposed to show up. "Hey Hitsu, sorry but I'm gonna be a little late, the office called and I had to take care of something really quick.... No no, it wasn't anything serious, but it was far enough away to put a dent in my timing, I'll be there as soon as I can.... Mhm... I love you too. Bye." He grinned quite evilly as he packed everything he would need for the afternoon and late into the night into the trunk of his Tesla Model S, he always enjoyed driving what wasn't on the public market yet, it always turned heads, that and the environmental impact was important to him.
Hitsuzen
When her cell phone had rung, Hitsu had sworn that she felt her heart jump into her throat. The familiar ringtone told her who was going to be on the other end, making her all the more nervous as she pulled it from one of her pockets to answer it.

"Hello?"

"Hey Hitsu, sorry but I'm gonna be a little late, the office called and I had to take care of something really quick."

"Is everything alright? Is something wrong?"

"No no, it wasn't anything serious, but it was far enough away to put a dent in my timing, I'll be there as soon as I can."

"You'll hurry?"

"Mhm."

"I love you."

"I love you too. Bye."

"Bye..."

She hung up and sighed, still grasping the phone with her hands in her lap for awhile. So, that meant she was going to be sitting here for almost a half hour longer without him. While that should give her adequate time to figure out exactly what she was going to say to him, she had the feeling it was going to be a lot harder than that... Skye, and his romantic habits and words, was going to make this very hard.
Skye Darkhawk
Skye arrived at the park shortly before the time he had anticipated, but it didn't matter much. He thought nothing of the date, it was typical for them to go out from time to time, but usually she wasn't so... occupied with thought. With the picnic basket in hand, with a classic red and white checkered throw, he set out for location he and Hitsu oft met. When he caught the shape of Hitsu's form against a bench in the distance, he waved his free arm in the air with a grin, letting her know he had arrived.
Hitsuzen
It had actually taken Hitsu a moment to notice Skye's approach, as she'd been staring off at nothing in particular. His wave caught her attention, pulling her from her thoughts.

She waved back, and smiled despite what she feared might be to come.

"I'm happy to see you made it," she said once he'd gotten within earshot. Her eyes settled on the picnic basket. She felt guilty that he'd went to such trouble today, with the news she had to deliver. "And you've even brought something to eat? I'm afraid I didn't think of bringing anything, myself..." Not so much that she had to, of course, this wasn't the first time he'd made surprise plans for them.
Skye Darkhawk
He chuckled lightly as he patted her shoulder, "Don't worry about it, Hitsu." He leaned over and kissed her on the forehead, "You know I enjoy doing these sorts of things for you." He lifted the basket slightly, "I made your favorite: Stuffed ravioloni with a red wine reduction, tomato base sauce." He then reached in and pulled out the neck of a bottle that didn't quiet seem to be made out of glass, "Along with some fine drinking from a vintage long forgotten; know for its long lasting sweetness." He then let it slide back in before motioning before them, "But perhaps you'd like to lead the way this time, and pick a spot for us to snack?"
Hitsuzen
"Thank you, Skye." He was always so kind and cheerful, Hitsu had never seen him upset... How soon was that going to change today?

She smiled anyway, and nodded softly when he suggested that she find a place for them to settle down for their picnic. "Alright."

When she stood, she reached out to take his hand. It was all habit, really, they hadn't been seeing one another romantically for long. Well, not long to her as it had only been about six months. Though, when you'd lived for so long, years seemed like only passing days.

Hitsu led them along one of the slightly overgrown trails within the small patch of forest she'd been waiting nearby. It really was a shame there wasn't somewhere within reasonable walking distance where they could be truly surrounded by woodland, so this would have to do.

She was predictable, and slowed near a moderately flat spot, where alongside the trail there laid nothing to obstruct the space they needed but the grasses and moss on the ground. They'd been here several times before. "How about here?"
Skye Darkhawk
He smiled sweetly, and laid out the throw for them to sit on, "Our favorite spot, though I still say it's not nearly as perfect as you." He helped her to sit, and looked deep into her eyes. "You seem like you've got something on your mind. In fact.." He peered into her eyes a bit closer, just inches away from her face, "I would daresay that I could see it.." He smirked slightly, and nodded just barely. "Ah yes. I can see it, it appears that you have something in your eye..."
Hitsuzen
Hitsu chuckled, "Well, I'd hope I'm better than a mossy spot on the ground."

Once she'd settled down she looked up to him, to find him staring at her... And rather intensely in top of that. Hitsu looked confused, but tried to hide her nervousness. After all, while she might have seemed preoccupied, he couldn't know why.

Once he'd claimed to have found it, Hitsu rolled her eyes but her smile returned. She gently shoved at him to push him away, "You're not going to fool me with that one again, you fox."
Skye Darkhawk
Skye kept his smirk as he pulled her with him as he moved back, "You said that the last time too," then he stole a kiss from her. He then pulled himself away for a moment still gazing into her eyes, "So, what all would you like to do this fine autumn day?"
Hitsuzen
Figuring she knew where the teasing was headed - in which she was correct - she only laughed and kissed him in return. "So I did."

When he'd questioned what they should do today, a pang of her guilt returned. "We, uh," She began, "We could... Have our picnic, and decide from there?"

She did feel greedy, to hope that she could enjoy at least this part of their date first. However, surely it wasn't horrible of her to want, should he be angry shortly after.
Skye Darkhawk
Skye opened the picnic basket, and removed the few items he brought with him, laying them out in a semi-relevant order. He waved his hand over the pasta and loaf of handmade bread, breathing heat into them with magic, as so they would be 'fresh out of the oven'-warm. He then produced two fine, elven-made red wine glasses and set them beside the bottle, which was placed evenly between the two of them.

Skye looked back to Hitsu, and smiled, "Does this suit your fancy, my Dear?"
Hitsuzen

Hitsu watched him anxiously as he got everything out and warmed the food for them. The glasses he'd brought for their wine were beautiful, and she couldn't help but 'ooh' when he set them out.

"Yes, very much," she replied with a smile.

Oh, but... Then she remembered that one of the things she wasn't supposed to do right now was drink.

"B-but, I might have to pass on the wine... I haven't been feeling well. I wouldn't want something so special to possibly go to waste..."
Skye Darkhawk
He chuckled softly, and poured her a glass anyway, "It'd be more of a waste if you didn't at least have one glass," He thought for a brief moment, then set the glass beside her, and then pulled a fork from the basket and cut off a piece of the now warmed pasta. Lifting it to her lips, "But first, a taste of this, hmm?"
Hitsuzen
Frowning lightly, Hitsu wondered just how dangerous it would be to have a single glass of wine. She probably shouldn't risk it, and so she wouldn't drink it.

Thankfully, he took his attention from the wine - if only briefly - to offer her some of the food that he'd cooked for them. She accepted it. It was delicious, but of course she had expected no less.

"It's very good," Hitsu said after she'd finished the bite.
Skye Darkhawk
He frowned lightly with disappointment, "Only very good..." He sighed briefly, then moved the pasta off to the side a little bit, "Looks like I've still got some work to do until you think it's perfect...."
Hitsuzen
Hitsu laughed, "Don't act so wounded, it's delicious!"

She grabbed the fork from his hand and cut away another bite, "You try it, and tell me if you find anything wrong with it."
Skye Darkhawk
He did as she asked, and chewed slowly as he analyzed each element, each flavor of his cooking, and nodded slightly. "I was right. It's a disappointment. Too heavy of a cheese flavor, not enough spice, and the pasta wasn't cooked correctly." He smiled softly though, "The sauce; however, turned out perfectly."
Hitsuzen
"You're too critical, Skye," Hitsu objected, before taking another bite for herself and setting the fork down on the plate with the pasta.

Reaching for the bread, she broke off a small piece which she began to nibble on quietly. This should be light enough that she wouldn't regret eating it later, at least she could hope so.
Skye Darkhawk
Skye watched her, contemplative, "Without being as critical as I am, I wouldn't be where I am today." He looked to the food, then looked back to her eyes, "You don't seem to have the appetite you usually do, is something weighing on your mind?"
Hitsuzen
"Like I said, I haven't been feeling well..." She explained again.

Though, how long could she really hold off from telling him? It made her feel worse, more anxious, the longer she waited.

"But... There is something on my mind, Skye. Something I need to tell you." Even now it was plain that she was becoming increasingly nervous, she'd looked away. "I'm afraid of what you'll think of me, when I do..."
Skye Darkhawk
Skye placed his hand on her shoulder, smiling softly to her, "You know I will support you no matter what." He leaned in and kissed Hitsu on her forehead, "What is bothering you?"
Hitsuzen
He was comforting, but it didn't lessen her worries by a whole lot. Surely he wouldn't expect what she was about to say. Even if he accepted the first half of the news, the second would surely test his words.

"That reason I'm not eating and the reason I can't drink the wine is because I've been nauseous for a few weeks now..." She sighed, pausing a moment as though wondering if she really should just come out and say it, or try to find a way to dance around the truth.

Really... The sooner the better, she supposed.

"I-I'm pregnant, Skye..."
Skye Darkhawk
He thought briefly, and looked into her eyes, testing the truth in her words. He nodded, just barely. "You'll be moving in, then." He picked up the glasses of wine, and looked to her again, "Didn't you know that having at least one glass a week is alright for a child, if not helpful in their later years." He lifted a glass in her direction, "Makes them smarter, studies say." He smiled softly to her, "And... for celebration."
Hitsuzen
Relief washed over her, he'd taken the news without so much as a question on if she was certain. Though, a moment later she felt almost nauseous. Not as she normally had, but knowing that now she had to tell him something that he surely wouldn't be indifferent to.

"I-I'm not finished..."
Skye Darkhawk
Skye held up his hand, "No complaints. You'll be moving into the manor as soon as you deem fit. I'll leave you a number to call for movers to help take your things there." He took up his wine, and stole a sip, looking her in her eyes, as if watching for another attempted objection.
Hitsuzen
Hitsu blinked. He didn't want to hear? Well, that was for the best... But hopefully he wouldn't say anything against this descision later.

"Okay..." She replied, looking a bit dazed both by his acceptance of her news and swift willingness to accommodate her. Quietly, she reached for her glass of wine, in hopes Skye was being truthful when he said a little wine was good rather than harmful, and took a sip.

"Thank you, Skye," she finally said quietly. "I'm afraid I shouldn't leave my housemates alone, though. I have several pets, and a friend who lives with us has several as well. What about them?"

"I don't mean to take advantage of your support by any means, but I would only be able to leave if they were coming with me..."
Skye Darkhawk
Skye took another drink of his wine, and stated rather matter-of-factly, "There is plenty of room for all of you. Of course, there will be certain rules and guidelines to follow in the manor..." He looked away briefly, "For all of our protection." His eyes met hers once again, "But do not worry, everything should turn out just fine." He smiled softly to her, and motioned the other glass of wine towards her, "To new life."
Hitsuzen
Well, that was good news. "Thank you, Skye. I'm sure everyone will be happy to hear it... I can hope, anyway."

"Rules?" She repeated, then nodded, "Of course. It's only fair, it is your home after all."

Smiling lightly, relieved that he had taken the news so well, Hitsu raised her glass to him as well. "To new life."
Skye Darkhawk
"Fair? I live by them as well... it's more.. rules of the house. Keeps us all safe. But we'll discuss that later." He was about to take another sip of his wine, when a jazzy tune started to play from his pocket. With a sigh and a slightly annoyed look to his face, he reached into his pocket, "It's a work call... I've got to take it. Sorry." He placed the glass down and stood up as he opened his phone. With another sigh, he lifted the phone to his ear and spoke, "Dark Industries, this is Skye; how can I help you?" There was a few moments of pause, and Skye rolled his eyes and then held the phone away from his head for a second, "Sorry Hitsu, but I've got to go. It seems the trouble at the office didn't stay fixed." Before putting the phone to his ear again, he gave her a gentle kiss on the top of the head, then spoke into the phone once again, "I'm on my way." Without waiting for a reply, he already had his phone closed, and in his pocket before turning around. "Sorry again."
Hitsuzen
She'd been about to ask what they needed to be kept safe from - despite him saying they'd talk about it later - when his phone rang. Hitsu frowned a bit herself, watching him quietly as he talked to his office. Didn't they know how to give a guy his privacy? Let him have a life outside of work? When Skye told her that he had to leave already, it did upset her a bit but she managed a smile all the same.

"You tell them they interrupted an important date," she said in all sincerity.

"I'll clean this up, and take the basket home. Did you want me to save the food for later? I will be sure to hide the wine away for when we're able to get together again..."

Getting to her feet as well, she reached up to wrap her arms around his neck, pulling him the little way down to her level for a kiss before he left.

"I love you, I'll call you again soon."
Skye Darkhawk
He laughed, just barely, "I'll let them know." He watched her for a moment, "Take the food on home with you if you like, for leftovers. And I've still got a few bottles of that wine in the cellar, so don't fret if you get to it before I get back."

He smiled, and kissed Hitsu on the cheek in return, "I love you too, can't wait to hear from you," and with that, he was on his way back to his car.
Hitsuzen
Hitsu watched him go for a few moments, before going about packing everything up carefully in the picnic basket. It was a shame he'd went to so much trouble, only to be called away not long after they'd settled down to their meal. At least, soon, they'd be spending a lot more time together.

She was about to pick up the basket, when a voice nearby startled her.

"You shouldn't do that."

She'd wheeled around to see Sphinx. Apparently, he'd come from the direction that Skye had left from. "Sphinx! What are you doing here!?"

"Helping," he stated simply, and plucked the basket off the ground to carry himself. "You alright?"

"Of course I am," she replied, sounding mildly defensive. "He only left because he had to go back to work."

"I know."

"How do you know?"

"I've been hiding in the bushes."

Hitsu snorted, "You know, they have a name for a person like that... It's called a peeping tom, you pervert."

Sphinx looked offended, "I'm not a pervert! I had the best intentions in mind."

"To tear his throat out if he would have upset me?"

"Exactly."

It was a lot nicer, she'd have to admit, to have someone to walk home with. That is, on top of most of her stress being relieved. Now, when Hitsu got home, she need only try to figure out how she was going to break the news to the second possible father... While she didn't mind if he gave her as much support as Skye, the situation might actually be more awkward, if not dangerous.

This RP took place over PM. As the realization of what's going on sinks in for another of Hitsu's housemates, her 'brother' Yuki is clueless due to problems of his own. As Hitsu breaks the news to him, with the worst timing possible Hanse decides to make a phone call.

Hanse Darkstar
Hanse thumbed the piece of paper that held the tenderly written number on it, starring at it as if she were really there in his arms again. After a few moments he shook his head lightly and tossed the paper onto his nightstand. He thumped hard against hist bed as he laid down, and started to stare at the ceiling. "How. How could one woman make me feel so..." He snarled and pounded his fist against the bed. "It drives me crazy." He shut his eyes tightly, and a fiery image of the woman appeared before him. The flames danced before him, and as he felt the heat on his face he opened his eyes. He paused for a moment, "You even haunt me as my demons." He waved his hand through the flames, dissipating them into nothingness.
Hitsuzen
It had only been a week since Hitsu's meeting with Skye, and it had taken a lot of courage for her to speak with him. Especially when she feared rejection when he'd discovered she was pregnant. More so what he'd have done upon learning that he wasn't the only one who could be the father, but he'd waved off any concern before she could bring it up. But... Thinking back, perhaps he had already known.

She vividly remembered the morning she'd been casually browsing the shops of Durem, window shopping mostly, cherishing the sunshine and pleasant afternoon temperature. Hitsu hadn't intended to see anyone she recognized when she peered into the window of the small corner cafe, so she was surprised to see Skye sitting at one of the tables. With a woman. Having lunch. Laughing with her and clearly fully enjoying himself.

Hitsu had started, and quickly gotten herself out of sight. It was unneeded, she hadn't been seen. Her heart pounded in her chest, tears welled up in her eyes. Why was he there? Who was that woman? She could make no sense of it, and the only conclusion she could come to was as one would expect... She was being cheated on.

The shock was soon replaced with anger, but instead of going back to try and confront them, Hitsu sought a place to sit and try to clear her head. She'd figure out what she was going to do, go home, and call Skye later to give him one hell of an earful.

She hadn't really expected the closest door to lead her into a bar, nor did she expect that bar to contain one of the old acquaintances she hadn't seen in a very long time. Hanse. Even after all of the decades past - or was it centuries now? - he remembered her. They actually shared conversation over drinks. Well, she did most of the talking, but he actually seemed willing to listen.

When closing time had come, they'd left together. What happened after that... Well, be it spite or desperation, Hitsu had awakened alongside Hanse the following morning. Nervous that she would be missed, she hurriedly got dressed and left. Though, not before leaving her cell phone number for him on the nightstand.

-----

A light rapping at the bathroom door got Hitsu's attention. She lifted her head to look toward it groggily, wondering just how long she'd been sitting in front of the toilet. Damn this morning sickness, wasn't it supposed to go away soon?

"What?" Hitsu groaned, pulling herself to her feet to clean up a bit at the sink.

It was Sphinx, as she should have known. "Did you fall asleep in there?"

"No..." Had she? She'd been exhausted lately, so it wasn't out of the question. "I was sick."

When she left the bathroom, Sphinx was lingering outside the door. "Are you going to keep following me everywhere?"

"I'd be happy to nominate someone else, would you like to have Yuki do it?" Sphinx replied, clearly sarcastic.

Hitsu groaned again, "I need to talk to him..."
Hanse Darkstar
No, I mustn't give in to this. I promised her brother I wouldn't get involved. His gaze shifted, his mind dared. But he's dead now, and there's nothing he can do about it. His eyes narrowed, mind reeling as he reached for his phone. That's right... call... Suddenly, his phone shattered in his hand, "No. I will not give in again. Not now." He stared at what was left of his phone irritatedly, and opened his nightstand revealing several more phones that looked much the same to the one he was now lacking. Picking up another with one hand, he extracted the chip from his original phone and jammed it hastily into the new one before assembling it. "Stupid phones... barely worth the plastic they're made of." He grumbled slightly, and thumped the phone on top of the nightstand. "At least they're cheap enough for me to buy in bulk.." All thanks to Skye... and his ever so easy 'jobs'... He shook his head lightly. "Such a duality. I wonder if she noticed."
Hitsuzen
"Well?"

"Well, what?"

"Are you going to knock or not?"

"When I feel like doing it, I will. Don't you have anything else to do?"

Sphinx and Hitsu stood in the hallway, with Hitsu staring hesitantly at Yuki's bedroom door. Telling him what was going on seemed like such a better idea when she had been upstairs.

"You can either tell him now, or later. But you can't hide it forever, Hitsu..." Sphinx said seriously, "I'll stay out here, but I'm not leaving." There had been something seriously off about Yuki in the past few months, but somehow he'd kept it hidden from Hitsu. This news, Sphinx figured, might just test that part of him that was still keeping his cool around his sister. He didn't want her to be alone if the news was taken badly.

Hitsu finally seemed to give in, and knocked quietly at the door. No answer. After a moment, she knocked a little louder. Still no answer, and she didn't hear anyone moving around. She checked the door to find it unlocked, and cracked it open just enough to peek inside and confirm that Yuki was not there.

"He's not in his room," she almost sounded relieved.

Sphinx, however, urged her to continue looking. The mansion was large, but there were only a few places he was bound to be found. He turned out to be in none of them. Hitsu has assured Sphinx that she would speak to him whenever he returned home, and had gone upstairs to lie down.

She hadn't expected to hear his voice coming from Mitsu's room as she passed.

Mitsu had been sick for the past several days, and Neko hadn't let anyone in to see her. Hitsu knew well enough that Yuki and Neko were more often than not arguing over anything and everything, so why would he be allowed in?

This door, she discovered, wasn't unlocked. So, she knocked on it lightly and announced her presence. "Yuki? I... I need to talk to you."
Hanse Darkstar
Pacing back and forth in his room, he just couldn't find himself to settle; not mentally, and certainly not physically. "What should I do..." he muttered quietly to himself, Call her... see her... He shook his head lightly. "I can't do that. I promised him that I would stay away from her." He lowered his head, knowing what his mind would say next, A little late for that, isn't it. He growled deeply, and shook his head. "I'll send her a text message... that way, she can reply only if she wants to." He nodded slightly, as if reassuring himself that that was the best solution. With that, he grabbed his phone at sat on the edge of his bed; only to stare at the screen as his mind went blank.
Hitsuzen
Hitsu stood anxiously outside the door for the few moments it took Yuki to respond to her call. She heard murmuring from inside the room, but couldn't make anything out. When her brother opened the door, she stepped back and looked up to him. He looked upset about something.

"Is Mitsu doing better?" Hitsu asked, honestly concerned.

Yuki nodded, "Yeah, she's doing better. She'll probably be out and about in the house again by tomorrow."

"That's good to hear." Hitsu smiled, but Yuki didn't.

"There's something wrong, isn't there?" Yuki questioned, after a pause. He could sense her tension, her fear. One of the drawbacks of being half Mazoku. "What has you scared?" With her calm nature, Yuki hadn't often felt something like this from her. It concerned him. "Come on," he ushered Hitsu further down the hall toward her bedroom, "If you want to talk about something, we'll talk."
Hanse Darkstar
He sat there, staring blankly at his cell phone unsure of everything all of a sudden. It had been nearly two months, but it was all still so fresh in his mind, so keen in his memory. It had been nearly the only thing he could think of, and it was such a lasting impression. It was nothing short of amazing that it had taken him even this long to try to get in touch with her again, nearly two months had passed since that night, and he hadn't heard from or seen her since... at least, not in person. Sure he could still see her face when he closed his eyes, and hear her breathing when he tries to sleep. All of these.. feelings, emotions, memories... all of this, and he can't even come up with what to say in a text message. He shut his eyes tightly, and let his thumbs do the talking; before he knew it, he had hit send. He stared at the screen on his phone with horror after the 'Sending' message left the screen, as was left with what he sent her. 'how u doin?' He nearly yelled in anger as he read it over and over, then crushed the phone in his hand before throwing the battered mass against the wall. He put his head in his hands, and just sat there.
Hitsuzen
Once Hitsu and Yuki had settled down in her room, it still took Hitsu several minutes to gain up her courage to speak with him on the matter. She still didn't know quite how she was supposed to word any of this, but he had to find out sometime. As she was constantly being reminded, she couldn't hide it forever.

Yuki waited patiently, sitting casually in Hitsu's desk chair on the opposite side of the room.

She was sitting cross legged on the bed, eyes trailing the floor and various areas of the room that didn't contain Yuki. Should she just come right out and say it? Should she dance around the subject for as long as he could and hope he didn't get angry?

A loud jingle from her pocket gave her a jolt, and she retrieved her cell phone to figure out who had just texted her. She'd expected Skye, in truth had hoped for it. An excuse to run from talking to Yuki and worry about this later... But it wasn't Skye. Who it was, she had no idea. So far as Hitsu was aware, all of her friends had their numbers listed in her phone. This one didn't have a name registered.

Yuki seemed impatient as she stared at the message, "Who's it from?"

"I... Don't know." Hitsu replied with a furrowed brow, before deciding to delete the message and set her phone aside.

Another pause.

Yuki leaned forward in his chair, "Are you alright, Hitsu?"

"I'm afraid..."

Something he already knew, "But you don't have to be afraid of me... Tell me what has you upset." Yuki spoke softly, the last thing he wanted to do was give her reason to refuse to speak all together.

Hitsu felt as though she could cry in her nervousness, in fact she knew it was coming whether she wanted it to or not. "I-I..." Her gaze once again shifted to the floor. She felt Yuki staring at her, and she closed her eyes against tears. "I'm... Pregnant."
Hanse Darkstar
Hanse continued to sit there with his face in his hands before coming to a realization, "If she tries to message or call me back.. it's not going to work..." He looked up quickly at the pile of phone bits on the floor, then to the cell phone cache near his bed. Without hesitation he pulled open the drawer while he got up and grabbed a phone as he started towards the phone he threw just moments before. Before he was reaching down for the broken bits of phone, the other was apart and waiting the chip of life. In seconds, he had reassembled the phone and was powering it back on when his mind kicked back in, So.. the great warrior reduced to a needing whore by just one night. Pitiful. Hanse closed his eyes and shook his head, trying to rid himself of the thoughts, "No. I'm just worried about her. What if he got to her..." He closed his eyes briefly, then looked to his phone. No messages, no voicemails. Nothing. He hesitated a moment, then dialed her number...
Hitsuzen
There was such a long bout of silence, that Hitsu finally had to risk a look up from the floor to see if Yuki was looking at her furiously or not. She'd expected him to shout at her, for what she wasn't entirely sure. For not being the innocent girl that he'd always treated her as?

When she'd looked at him, his expression was nothing short of terrified and his eyes were wide with shock. In a seconds' time this shifted to anger, and his tone reflected it.

"Who did this to you?" Yuki demanded, "You tell me where he is, and I'll make him ******** regret it."

"N-no... It-it's not like that," Hitsu protested, but yet she looked more upset.

"The hell it isn't, you're crying. What the hell happened?"

Both of their attentions snapped to Hitsu's phone when it began to ring. Hitsu looked nervously at Yuki before picking it up. She checked the number... It was the same that had texted her? She tried to steady her breath, then flipped it open.

"H-hello..?"
Hanse Darkstar
Hanse swallowed, hard. "Uhm.. heya." He looked around nervously, as if someone was watching him. "Did you get my message?" With his free hand he rubbed at the back of his neck, wrought with such extreme nervousness. Here it is... the moment we've been waiting for. Cowardice. How lovely.
Hitsuzen
Hitsu's eyes grew wide. Hanse? Why did he have to call her now? "I... Can't talk right now," She finally stammered, "C-can I call-- NO!"

Yuki had his suspicions on who might be on the phone, not so much by identity but certainly a relation to the matter at hand. He'd saved himself some time and teleported the few feet across the room and snatched the cell phone straight from his sister's grasp, expression murderous.

"Is this the dead man who ******** my sister!?"
Hanse Darkstar
Hanse coughed loudly, and thought for a moment. Then, he spoke with a slightly firmer voice than before as he straightened up a bit, "Strange hearing such words from someone who is a dead man."
Hitsuzen
Several seconds passed like minutes as Hitsu stared up at Yuki worriedly, hands cupped over her mouth. The timing was horrible... The fact he'd gotten the phone was horrible... And...

Yuki had frozen. When he finally spoke again, his anger had not faded completely but the confusion was clearly there. "Who the hell is this?" The voice had been familiar immediately, and he could not place it.

Surely this was someone he'd met since 'awakening' to his new life... Surely... This couldn't be someone from before.
Hanse Darkstar
Hanse listened carefully, "Don't worry about who I am. I must speak with your sister. Give her the phone." He waited a moment, "Do not make me repeat myself." He was surprised to hear Yuki's voice again, in fact, he never would have expected it... ever. Yuki was dead, or so he thought.
Hitsuzen

"Yuki... Please stop..." Hitsu murmured.

"When I find out where the hell you are," he continued, not even sparing his sister a glance, "You're going to wish you never laid a hand on her."
Hanse Darkstar
Hanse chuckled, just barely. "More 'badass' than you'll ever be, seeing as I'm the one that lived." He walked over to the window, and looked out it, "Though if you'd like to try it again, I'd be more than willing to kill any of your kind again." He smirked lightly, "And you shouldn't get so mad at what your sister does of her own free will."
Hitsuzen
Yuki held the phone away from his ear after Hanse finished speaking. It was increasingly bothering him to talk to a familiar voice that seemed to know who he was... And yet he hadn't a clue. One thing was obviously confirmed. This wasn't someone he'd met recently.

It was obvious that whoever this was wouldn't give him any sort of answers, and Yuki sure as hell wasn't interested in letting him talk to Hitsu. Whether or not it was confirmed that he was the one who had fornicated with her, he wasn't letting it happen.

Yuki froze the phone in his grasp, and let it drop to the floor where it shattered onto the hardwood floor like glass. "Oops," he muttered, lacking the tone that he cared at all.

Now it was Hitsu's turn to be angry. "What did you do that for!?"

"Who the hell was it, Hitsu!?" Yuki threw right back, "How did he know who I was!? How did he know that I was dead!?"

She didn't have a response, "Y-Yuki..." Hitsu remembered Count D speaking with her after she had discovered Yuki - the creature before her now - to be not the real man he resembled, but a fabrication of a long lost loved one that she still had a need for in her life.

She'd known that she needed him, she'd needed him in the centuries she hadn't had him... But this 'pet' Yuki of hers, while sharing the same personality and supernatural abilities, did not possess all of her deceased brother's memories. D had warned that if he somehow recalled them, the result could be disastrous.

"I... Can't tell you." Hitsu replied.

Yuki looked offended, she was defending this b*****d? "Why the hell not?"

"Your contract..."

The contract he'd already managed to breach himself... Right. She hadn't found out about that yet. "Forget about the contract!"

"I can't!" Hitsu shouted, "Do you know what he does to people who breach their contracts!? He'll take you from ********. Now she was crying again, and this time it was his fault. Yuki frowned, "H-Hitsu... I'm not going anywh-"

The bedroom door swung open, and Sphinx immediately welcomed himself in. Much to Yuki's dismay, he wasn't alone either. Vincent was behind him, and he heard voices in the hallway.

"You ever heard of ******** privacy?" Yuki growled. Despite this, he stepped back when Vincent approached Hitsu and stared at him coldly.

"Considering her condition, don't you think it best that you don't upset her?" Vincent asked, gently pulling Hitsu to her feet.

"What...?" Yuki blinked, "You told them before you told me?"

"No, she didn't," Vincent replied, "We're just more observant than you are."

Yuki couldn't deny that, and simply sneered at the three of them as Vincent ushered his sister out of the room and Sphinx silently followed.
Hanse Darkstar
He closed his phone with a sigh, then set it on the window's edge. "Well, it was unexpected to hear him again." Shame he didn't stay dead, would have made your life easier. He shook his head lightly and went back to his bed to sit, wondering what to do next. "I'll just have to wait until she calls me back." If she ever does. He shook his head some, and laid down to get some sleep. It was always draining to deal with Yuki's stubbornness.
Hitsuzen
"This isn't good at all... Ohh... What am I going to do?" Hitsu whimpered through small sobs.

Vincent and Sphinx had taken her down to the kitchen, to remove her from conflict and calm her down. Hitsu now sat clutching a barely sipped glass of ice water, still fretting over what had just happened. Neither of the men seemed to know what to suggest.

"Forget about him," Sphinx finally stated.

"Forget about who?" Hitsu replied, looking up to him almost fearfully from her seat. "I-I'd... Though about just not telling Hanse... I never expected him to call me."

"But if the child looks nothing like Skye?" Vincent suggested, "Shouldn't you inform them both?" Sphinx had spoken to him about Hitsu's meeting with

"I honestly don't think it would change much between us... I think he knows of the possibility, I'm pretty sure of it..." Hitsu murmured, mentally recalling her phone conversation with Skye the day following her night with Hanse.

She'd been at home, mulling over just how she was going to let Skye have it, if and when he called when the phone rang on her nightstand. Hitsu had picked it up and answered casually, and before the typical small talk Skye had commented - without being called out - that he had met a client for lunch the previous afternoon.

Hitsu had felt horrible, and met up with him later that afternoon. She'd told Skye she'd seen them in the cafe. Then made a horrible mistake, something she doubted he could forgive her for, but something she had come to regret. She'd expected him to ask what had happened, expected him to leave her sitting alone at the bench they'd seated themselves on. Neither came, only Skye's soft smile and his statement that made her feel both extremely relieved and extremely guilty at the same time.

"You're here now, and that's all that matters."

Her silence had apparently finally gotten to Sphinx.

"Do you want me to throw him in the basement? It'd be a good place for him, too."

Hitsu wasn't sure whether to laugh or not, "No... Yuki has good reason to be upset."

"How do you figure?" Sphinx asked irritably, clearly in disagreement.

"His little sister getting knocked up by the man who killed him centuries ago..." Hitsu looked to each of them in turn, they looked as inquisitive as she had expected them to be. "It's a... Long story. But when Count D contacted me about Yuki, he said that I needed to keep him away from things that might trigger any bad memories... Because a lot of his memories - and Dynast's - are locked away, and if that changed Count D wasn't sure if Yuki could still fulfill his purpose. I was irresponsible, and now I might have broken his contract along with it all... I'm scared I'm going to lose my brother again." Hitsu stared down into her glass, trying to will back her tears at the very thought of her last statement.

Sphinx and Vincent exchanged knowing glances. Yuki had been acting strange on his own recently, even before this.

"Don't worry about Yuki, I'll try to talk with him." Vincent had patted her on the shoulder, and stepped away and out of the kitchen without another word.

"Did he have his gun?" Hitsu asked without looking up.

"Yep," Sphinx replied casually, stepping toward the door himself. "Want me to make sure nobody gets caught in any crossfire?"

"Yes, please." Hitsu knew well enough that she probably had no reason to concern. Vincent was the most responsible member of the household, and never resorted to violence unless the need arose or the situation became desperate; in the case of the second, it was unavoidable for him.

At most, she'd have to worry about Daphne biting all of their heads off for getting too loud and waking the baby.

Hitsu sipped on her water, thinking over her next plan of action in the new found silence. She had no choice but to try and talk to Hanse now, she figured. As soon as she'd calmed down a little more, she'd clean up and head toward his place. The walk and fresh air would probably do her well anyway, cold or not.
Hanse Darkstar
Hanse's eye opened slowly, and he rubbed his temples a little bit. "Nnngg... Headache." He closed his eyes again as he stood up, still with his fingers at his temples. With a sigh, he made his way to the kitchen, still with closed eyes, while there he plucked a beer from the dorm room sized refrigerator. He flicked off the cap with his thumb and drank a little bit before opening his eyes and looking out the window. His eyes quickly shut again from the light shinning in, and he drew the shades shut. "I hope today ends up getting better."
Hitsuzen
It was a couple of hours since the kitchen that Hitsu was finally on her way out the door after showering and dressing for the day, wondering if her inability to even keep the water down was due to the pregnancy or her nerves, if not a bit of both.

Hopefully this long walk would do her well, even if the end destination made her nervous just thinking about it. What in the world was she going to tell him when she got there? Well, Hitsu supposed she had plenty of time to think about that. He did live on the opposite side of Durem, after all.

Once she had finally arrived, Hitsu hesitated outside the front door for several minutes, staring at it. Debating on knocking, or just turning around and going back home. But... Surely he wanted to talk to her if he had contacted her, and as much as she was sure he didn't want to hear her news... Maybe she did need to tell him in case the child turned out to not belong to Skye.

Finally, she raised a hand to knock gently at the door. Then, she waited. Anxiously waited.
Hanse Darkstar
Hanse's head tilted slightly at the knock at the door. He grumbled, just barely as he took another drink with his eyes closed. Then, with a heavy sigh, he spoke loudly, "The door is unlocked if you want to come in."
Hitsuzen
She hadn't expected Hanse to answer, or was it that she'd slightly hoped he wouldn't? However, when he announced that the door was unlocked she grasped the doorknob and quietly let herself in.

Hitsu shut the door quietly behind her, and hesitated just on the other side. She could see Hanse from the corner of her eye, but she sheepishly looked at the floor instead.

"H-he... Broke my phone. So I came here to talk to you..."
Hanse Darkstar
Hanse pointed slightly in the direction of his bedroom, "If you need a spare phone, there's a bunch in the nightstand." He took another drink as he walked into the living room where Hitsu had entered. Staring intently at her, he then asked, "It looks like there's something you want to say."
Hitsuzen
It surprised her a little, his lack of hesitation. Hitsu nodded slightly to his offer of a new phone, but she didn't move and only shifted her feet nervously where she stood.

When she finally looked up to see him staring at her, her cheeks grew red and she had to stare at the floor again.

"I came to apologize. For... That day." And night, her mind finished, but it went unspoken.
Hanse Darkstar
He looked towards her eyes some, "There's many days either one of us could apologize for. You'll have to be a bit more specific."
Hitsuzen
Really? Was Hanse serious, or just trying to torment her?

"Our night together, after the bar, when I was upset. It was a mistake that I shouldn't have made... And I'm sorry for getting you involved."

Hitsu continued to stare at the floor, it was a lot easier to look at than Hanse right now.
Hanse Darkstar
Hanse looked at her for a moment, then set down his drink on a corner table near his couch. He spoke as he strode over to her, "If it was such a mistake..." He put his finger under her chin and lifted her gaze, "Why did you come back?"
Hitsuzen
Why did he have to get so close? When Hanse lifted her chin Hitsu met his gaze for just a moment, before quickly looking away. She didn't jerk her head away, even though she had the urge to... She wasn't angry with him, she had no reason to be angry with him... This was her fault.

His question brought a blush to her cheeks. She felt it, and in her embarrassment it surely only made them redder.

"I-I came back... Because I thought you wanted to talk to me, too."

Hitsu paused a moment, and gently pushed his hand away from her face with one of her own. She finally looked up to him, though nervously.

"You sent me a text message... And you called me. Why?"
Hanse Darkstar
He thought for a moment, and blinked. "Why.. I called?" Why did he call? Now that she was here, he couldn't remember. He lowered his hand slowly, then looked away, "I couldn't get you off my mind... I've barely been able to work, or even think straight."
Hitsuzen
Well, this just made this visit even more awkward than it already had been... Though, this time he looked away, and so she didn't have to.

"I-I... Went back to him. He wasn't cheating on me, Hanse. He was with a client... And I made a mistake."

Skye was offering her a new, much bigger home. He was offering to support her, her housemates and pets, and the child that she would be giving birth to. She couldn't leave Skye after everything he was so willing to do for her. Especially since, with Hanse... Their intimate relationship had lasted only a single night.
Hanse Darkstar
Hanse looked back to Hitsu and put his arms around her before kissing her just barely, "This certainly doesn't feel like a mistake to me." He then gently brushed his nose against her's, "Does it?"
Hitsuzen
Hitsu didn't move when Hanse embraced her, or kissed her. Her mind was working hard enough trying to figure out just how she was supposed to deal with the fact that apparently Hanse wasn't going to be so easy to bid farewell.

His lingering closeness to her face finally seemed to snap her out of it, and she twisted in his grasp. Very red in the face at this point, Hitsu looked close to a panic.

"P-please let me go, Hanse," She stammered, "You don't know what you'd be getting yourself into..."
Hanse Darkstar
He smirked, just barely, as he looked into her eyes, "You know.." He leaned in a little bit closer to her, "I don't think this is the first time you've said this to me... like this."
Hitsuzen
Hitsu's eyes grew wide, and her startled expression clearly revealed that she'd caught the hint.

"Stop!" She cried, and pressed her hands to his chest in an attempt to shove him away. "This isn't fair! I've been seeing Skye regularly for months and I'm lucky if you and I just so happen to run into each other every few centuries!"
Hanse Darkstar
Hanse blinked slightly. "Ah. I see." He let his arms drop and turned away from Hitsu. "It'd be hard to compete against him." He walked back towards the kitchen, picking his beer back up and taking a drink of it. "At least I know you'll end up having a lasting relationship with him as well. He's nearly as old as you or I, if not older."
Hitsuzen
Hitsu really hadn't intended to blurt out Skye's name, nor did she realize she'd done it until a couple of seconds after she'd done so. Looking startled a moment, Hitsu wondered if Hanse had caught it. Knowing the dragon, if he really did want her to himself, he'd have no second thoughts in finding out just who this 'Skye' was and tear his throat out to put an end to the competition.

At least, that was the Hanse she was accustomed to. Apparently, time really does change people.

However, rather than a retort he seemed to know who she was talking about. "Y-you know him...?"

What followed left her speechless for several minutes.

Wait. Older than they were? Older than they were?

Questions clambered for her mental attention, so many she wanted to ask. Hitsu was confused, shocked.

"W...What?" It was all she could manage.
Hanse Darkstar
Hanse chuckled, barely. "Know him? I've been working with and for him for countless years now. I've seen him go through hundreds of women... clients, if you prefer." He turned to face her, "He does talk about them, quiet often. He's been talking about one girl though, most recently, thinking about settling down somewhat with this one. Must've thought she was a regular human, spend 60... maybe 70 years with them, then as they pass he'd move on. Guess you never told him it might take longer. Then again, you probably thought of him as normal." He waved his hand some, "You're probably brimming with questions, so I'll answer a few with one go." He sighed lightly, and took another drink. "Skye and I have known each other for around 800 years, the first few we were slightly unaware of each other, then after your brother, I started working with him, then for him somewhat more recently." He laughed a little bit, "A real debonair, that one."
Hitsuzen
She was silent as he spoke, though she looked like she was in full disbelief she was taking in every word. So they knew one another, had known one another for a hell of a lot longer than she had even known Hanse. Before Yuki had known Hanse.

The more Hanse went on, let alone as casually as he seemed to be about it all, Hitsu's mood shifted from hurt and confused to feeling humiliated. Like this could very well have been some sort of joke between the two of them. ******** the fact that she'd just found out that her boyfriend was immortal, it didn't matter to her.

"You think it's funny!?" Hitsu finally snapped at him.

For the first time, she moved away from the door, and closed the gap between them in several strides.

"You're telling me the man I trusted has been lying to me, you've been lying to me," well, not really, she'd never asked about his relationships with others, "and now I'm the one who has to deal with the consequence!?"

Ah, the mood swings of pregnancy. Not that this one wasn't fully provoked into happening...
Hanse Darkstar
"Just amused that he never thought that you might be a bit like him, amused that no matter where either one of us go, we're always going in a full circle to meet each other again." He then looked her fully in the eyes, "By the way, I've never lied to you. Ever. I never will. I care too much about you to do something as foolish as that." He sighed lightly, "I may not be able to give you everything that Skye could.. but I, at least, honestly love you."
Hitsuzen
Hitsu actually managed to bite her tongue until Hanse had finished speaking. Though, before she addressed him, she drew back a hand and slapped him hard across one cheek.

"Bullshit!" She cried. Literally, her eyes were beginning to brim over with tears. "If you cared about me, if you loved me, you wouldn't have waited this ******** long to act like you did!"

Putting a hand to her face, Hitsu turned to walk hurriedly away from him. She muttered something, barely audible. "I never should have come here."
Hanse Darkstar
His cheek stung, but his mind was still sharp. With a quick twist, he put his hand on her shoulder, "You never gave me a chance. You were with Skye recently, and..." With a sigh, he tried to turn her around to be able to look in her eyes again, "I promised your brother I would stay away from you, for fear of something like this hurting you." He looked away slightly, "I wish I wouldn't have made that promise. Maybe things would have been different... but we can't change that now." He looked back to her, searching for her eyes, "But we can change the now, and I'd like to be given the chance to show you that I do love you."
Hitsuzen
Hanse's sudden grasp on her shoulder made Hitsu flinch, be it that he'd startled her or she'd actually tried to resist jerking away from him. She was already tired of hearing him talk. Lies or not, she wasn't in the mood to hear anymore.

He'd successfully made her doubt everything between her and Skye... Now to dump onto her, after a one-night stand, that he actually had an interest in her beyond some random fling. This was not what she had expected from him. It was difficult to believe, and she honestly wasn't sure if she wanted to believe it at all.

"Recently. Like months compared to over five hundred years?" Hitsu had retorted, jerking herself from Hanse's hold when he pulled against her, but turning around on her own accord.

"The Hanse that I knew would never have said such things, let alone knew what they meant," Hitsu said. "I find it hard to believe that you're going to convince me otherwise."

Though, that promise... It did sound like something her brother would demand of him. He was even more protective in his 'past life' than he was now.

"He doesn't remember that promise, or you. If that changes, I'll probably have you to thank again when I've lost him for a second time."

Thank you, Hanse. For single-handedly wrecking my life in more ways that you'll probably ever know.

While her voice had seemed to calm, it was clear her mood had not.

"I'd like to leave now... If you and Skye really do work together, you'll see him before I do. Tell him his offer of temporary living arrangements has been declined. He can give that client of his a call if he's lonely enough."
Hanse Darkstar
"I kept the promise with your brother until now, part of me is sorry for breaking that promise and things ending up the way they have. The other part of me is glad to have broken that promise. It's shown me what I've missed for half a millennium." He paused a moment, and stepped towards Hitsu, "And give me a little more credit in the sense of personality. I had to appear harsh while I was with your brother, so you would stay away; part of the promise to stay away from you involved me acting like I didn't like anyone. And this time, I won't let anything take your brother away." He pointed towards the bedroom, "You know, you can still grab a phone before you go."
Hitsuzen
Ending up the way they had... And here he didn't even know that she was pregnant yet.

Hitsu didn't say anything, until he mentioned he wouldn't let anything take Yuki away from her again.

"You broke your promise with him, how do I know you won't break this one, too?" She wanted to believe it, but everything was just so... Confusing right now. So many things she thought she knew had been thrown right back at her as false. In a matter of minutes, no less.

When he pointed to his bedroom, Hitsu looked toward it for a moment in thought. Wiping her eyes, she walked away from him and to the bedroom. Hitsu knew well enough that her brother didn't care if she had a new phone or not, but she did.
Hanse Darkstar
Hanse followed her to the bedroom, but he stopped in the doorway, crossing his arms and watching her. "I wouldn't denounce Skye just yet, by the way. Give him a chance, present him with what you've learned. If he's offered you stay in his manor, that's more than he's ever done for anyone else. I mean, look at me. I live on the outskirts of Durem now. You probably won't have to pay him anything, and his kitchens are always stocked, so you wouldn't have to do any shopping, plus he's got a couple of gardens, so you'd have fresh stuff too." He sighed lightly, depressing himself, "And all I have to offer is everything I am."
Hitsuzen
"So first you piss me off and try to turn me against him, and now you're trying to defend him. Do you realize how much sense you're making?" Hitsu said as she crossed his bedroom and leaned over the nightstand to rummage through the top drawer.

Not that much rummaging was involved... Why did he have so many cell phones? A quick glance left and right caught a few in pieces on the floor. Apparently he wasn't too good with technology. So much for only pretending to be angry, she guessed.

Once she'd selected a phone, she pocketed it and turned to head back toward the door and past Hanse.
Hanse Darkstar
He looked to her eyes once again, "Do you expect me to make sense? Do we make sense? Even so, that doesn't mean I can't love you, or that I don't." He sighed again, and looked to the floor, "I want you to be happy. If that happens to be with Skye, so be it. I'd just like to be given a chance."
Hitsuzen
Seeing as Hanse didn't move from the doorway, Hitsu stopped a couple of feet from him.

"No, we don't make sense. Your kind and mine aren't supposed to associate with one another, let alone have relationships."

Hitsu frowned. He really wasn't going to give up.

Well, there was the last thing she needed to talk to him about, and that'd be one sure-fire way to test just how loyal he intended to be.

"You want a chance?" She asked, "Even if there's strings attached?"
Hanse Darkstar
"If it involves being friends with your brother... we'll see. But otherwise, the stars are yours if you ask for them."
Hitsuzen
That actually gained a little hint of a smile from her, "You're certainly going to have to answer to him... He was pretty pissed off, thanks to you."

After considering a moment, Hitsu reached for one of Hanse's hands and pressed it to her abdomen.
Hanse Darkstar
Hanse blinked a little bit, and tilted his head. "You're hungry? Fat? Skinn..." His voice trailed off, and his gaze seemed distant as he slowly moved his hand away from her. "Is that... could it be? Mine? His?" His hand slowly went to his face, covering it slightly. He paused for a moment, then shook his head briefly and put his hand on Hitsu's shoulder, "Anything you need or want, I will get. You only need to ask."
Hitsuzen
"I'm not sure, not yet," She answered honestly. "I just know it's there, and either you... Or Skye... Will sooner or later be a father."

Hitsu nodded to his offer. At least he hadn't been frightened away, perhaps that was a promising sign. "I'll be sure to call you the next time I have a strange food craving at two thirty in the morning."
Hanse Darkstar
Hanse moved his hand into Hitsu's, "What if I make it easier than that..." He paused, just briefly as he looked to her eyes, "And I just don't leave your side?"
Hitsuzen
Hitsu felt her cheeks going warm again, "I'm... Not so sure that would be the best idea. My pets might not take kindly to a strange man following me home."

A joke or a real concern? Even she wasn't sure.
Hanse Darkstar
He smirked softly, "Can't be any stranger than Yuki when he first wakes up."
Hitsuzen
She gave a soft, short laugh. "I suppose he does look a mess first thing in the morning." Or, afternoon, as of late.

"I can't say this is at all what I expected coming over here, but... I'm willing to take all the help I can get, I guess." If Hanse was telling the truth about Skye, the blond would have a lot to answer for as it was. Hitsu still wasn't too happy to learn he'd been keeping important truths from her.

She looked down to their joined hands, "So... What now?"
Hanse Darkstar
Hanse briefly glanced at his bed, then the door to his house, "I'll leave that choice to you."
Hitsuzen
Hitsu rolled her eyes, "I think I'll pass on the first suggestion, I don't want to test my luck any farther right now."

"If you're serious about staying with me, I should probably go home and give them all a fair warning."
Hanse Darkstar
Hanse gave Hitsu a light kiss on the forehead, "Just give me a call when you're ready for me."
Hitsuzen
Smiling lightly, Hitsu nodded. "Sure thing, it'll probably be sometime this afternoon or evening."

Saying her goodbye, Hitsu took her leave to return home. That certainly hadn't gone as planned, she thought, but as unexpected as it was perhaps it wasn't a result to regret.

This journal entry occurs as Skye is driving off to his office call from the end of the RP between Hitsu and Skye

Well, that was a surprising turn of events this night. It was supposed to be a romantic evening with Hitsuzen only to turn into a night of sinful confessions and rash decisions. I invited her, and her pets, or family, or whatever it is she's been keeping secret from me into my manor..
Red light.
Into my manor without knowing what I'm getting myself into, but I must keep her, and anyone who knows her close by in the event the child ends up like me. I haven't told her I'm immortal yet, but that will come in time. I've never been good at judging when the best tim...
Red light.
Stupid intersections. I've never been able to tell when the best time to let a lover know I'm not going to die any time soon. It usually lasts until they start showing signs of severe aging when I don't. That's when the questions start. Perhaps I'll tell her a bit sooner, hopefully it won't be as much as a shock then.
Son of a b***h! That b*****d cut me off.
Anyway, this isn't the first time I've had offspring with a human. I shouldn't have to worry too much about them gaining any effects of my immortality, my first son certainly didn't. That was a long time ago, and I shouldn't think of him at a time like this, nor my first wife. I have a new life, a new potential wife with child, already. Having her and her family in the manor will allow me to provide for all of them in a way they've probably never experienced. They'll have more room to move around for one; Hitsu always complained about how crowded her place was, so it should be a good move for her.
Gotta merge onto the highway...
I can't let myself get sidetracked this time. I'll have to put my 'business' on the back-burner while I take care of Hitsuzen, the child, and her family. I guess they'll become my family, though. I should start thinking of them like that or else it will be harder to show attachment to them. I wonder what they're like, she talks of them often, some fondly... others... not so much. Either way, I will show them compassion and caring like a father should.
Here's my stop, time for a business meeting.
I really should try to clear my mind before going through this business meeting, the only problem is.. this is a lot to deal with all of a sudden.
