Rhian snuggled up under Vin's arm, feeling safe under her "uncle-granpa"'s protective hold. Her bright brlue eyes closed from terror, and she only tried to pay attention to his reassuring essence, her own smaller, younger, and much more timid than before cowering and seeking shelter with the older, reassuring one.
Ellandra sat down on the couch beside Rhian, smiling politely at Vin. "I'm sorry; I'm just used to being respectful to others until otherwise suggested. . . I don't want to make you uncomfortable," she said, apologizing white helping tuck the blanket around her still-frightened flutterby and shushing her gently.

"That's okay, no harm done... Just... leave that for the uptown." ahem. Ignore me, milady. When he left for the kitchen you could vaguely hear him grumble something suspiciously like 'uncomfortable? props to the one who makes me even more uncomfortable than I already am, I'm wearing SHORTS for crying out loud'. Possibly squicking the girls out showing my war trophies like this, too. Hold in in, Vin, hold it in. For as far as Ellandra knows, she's currently not aware you've been living like a savage for forty-and-then-some years until roughly a week ago. You're just... there. Yes, just there. Like that, out of nowhere. She'll get suspicious later.
Indeed it didn't take him long to come back out of the kitchen, balancing two trays, one on each long-fingered hand, quite masterfully, swooping by to set them down on he salon table with a slight act of tilt-and-set. He'd had enough of boiling water on his skin for a good while now.
"Never thought I'd end up hosting tea parties here..." he murmured, preparing Ellandra and her charge a cuppa each, handing it to them as was proper -with underset and tiny spoon and all. This guy knew how it was done. Sitting down on the couch edgewith a small noise of relief to get some weight off his legs, he leaned over, nabbed a small bowl full of nuts and crackers, and began nibbling on one, looking at the two females on his terrain thoughtfully.
Quite quickly he lost control over the nibbling and was quite eagerly munching ahead, gazing at Ellandra and Rhian in turn, occasionally glancing at a curious kitten pawing past. Good lord the luxury of having food on chainsupply. For those who knew he was essentially part parrot, the fact he'd chosen that exact sort of nibblers might have been doubly hilarious. Way to leave a silence though. ....
"I really need to lay off the snacks." nibble. "Maybe I should go and tell Elst you're here."

Ellandra blinked, peering at the elegant way the tea had been handed out. Curious and just a mite more perceptive than was really good for her, she couldn't help but murmur a soft, "You remind me of someone. . ." Though thankfully she didn't elaborate on that statement, because if she'd said WHO he reminded her of it might have gotten even more awkward than it already was. Rhian snuggled into the blanket that was around her, and wrapped her arms around Vin, a 'don't go' message clear in her eyes. She couldn't bear to see him go right now - it wasn't SAFE out there, didn't he know that?!?

DAMN, how had she picked that one up now. Curse them females, he couldn't even show some proper upbringing here without being incriminated.
Okay, don't puff up, be cool dude. She could've been talking about some fancy waiter on some fancy restaurant. No, no, no, she had not meant to mention Banning. Out of the question, what a ridiculous idea.
Oh well, there was no escaping right now, not with young missus vicegrip-of-feeble-doom shackling him down. Alright then, I'll stay. To avoid being a drag on the couch edge he did slide down to sink into the cushions a little deeper though, stretching his long legs out a bit. Okay, now don't sit there like a doped-up hillbilly, that's just rude. Ah well, anything to comfort the little maiden hm, c'mere you. Again, he kept her close in that odd balance between friendly gruffness and careful gentility, his bandaged arm around her warm and snug.
Frankly, the flutterby didn't know the first thing about the general safety of the outdoors. Oh hell no.
"... want a cracker? They're pretty good." he held some out for her in his palm to pick her favourite ones from. Yeah, let's just brush off the awkward -papa Isis this couch is criminally comfortable, I need to get up and sit on a rock again right this instant- and play nice. Play cosy.
Well, if there had been even a shred of doubt about his nature, the fact he seemed so fussed about Rhian was a pretty strong hint to him being more closely related to her than to Ellandra.

Aoi kept quiet, oblivious to the outside world as he focused on the small void which was his room. A jolt of pain laced through his body, however, a particularly poignant hunger pang rocketing through his innards. He fell, doubled over, clutching at his stomach, and only after a few moments was he able to stand. To fuel his magic, he normally ate utterly massive amounts of food, constantly snacking on things every now and then and to deny himself sustenance for so very long was to him what a day or three without food would be to others. His breaths were shallow.
However, now that he’d de-focused himself from his task…the presence of the visitors was blatantly obvious. Normally, he would have sensed tem the instant they entered the gates, but…well, he had been a bit busy. But now… Rhian? Little sister? Ellandra?
His door slowly opened as the flower-child made his exit, the seals on his blindfold glowing softly once more. He wandered his way over to Ellandra and Rhian, sensing every last bit of his sister’s pain. Perhaps she would notice that some of the horror, the traumatic fear slowly fading away as he approached, perhaps she would not. What mattered was that he was here for her. He slowly, carefully approached, wrapping her in a hug once she’d separated from Vin.
He hoped his spells were enough to push away his sickly appearance.

Vin had just been slipping into an oddly contented stupor when he felt Aoi approach. So there he was, at last. So he'd sealed himself off enough not to even notice Rhian's arrival eh... Yes, there was no way he'd have hesitated to come see her immediately if not for that reason.
Giving Rhian a calm nudge, alerting her that she should detach and go to Aoi. The moment he was free of her, he curtly stood up, using some extra manual thrust to get past that awkward point of all-weight-on-weak-spot swiftly, then lumbered off directly into the kitchen.
Ignoring the ladies around quite royally, he put down a tray of food -more nutritious stuff than the nuts he'd been hoarding forhimself lately, some of Elst's baking, milk, juice, whatever else there was a parched and starved flower-child could need- right beside Aoi with a deadpan thunk, expression blank. Something about his demeanour left no doubt though: eat up, before you pass out. You don't need spells, you need so be sensible.
Not wanting to act like he was blantantly pressuring him, he went back to the couch then, and sat down again. On the edge. Before slightly sheepishly sliding back into the comfy part.

Rhian hugged Aoi tightly, before reaching up and tracing the blindfold, frowning. 'You're being silly, you know.' For Ellandra, this was the first time she'd seen Aoi with his blindfold on, and her hand rose to her mouth as a nearly-soundless gasp escaped her. To see someone willingly subject themselves to the condition her baby boy was forced to live with - let alone sweet, darling Aoi - brought tears to her eyes and the small wwoman brought a hand down to her abdomen, instead choosing to watch Vin and his mannerisms, the pieces linking together clearly in her mind. She wasn't a mystery-suspense writer for nothing, after all.
Meanwhile, the edge of her terror vanishing under her older brother's influence, Rhian peeked at the food, then at Aoi, and frowned, poking him in the chest gently. 'You haven't been taking care of yourself have you? What were you doing all this time, Aoooiiii?'

I’m fine sis…Don’t worry… Aoi blindly ‘eyed’ the food somehow, his feeling of hunger suddenly doubling at the smell of the solution. Regardless, he forced down the roaring urge to scarf it all down as fast as he could, instead picking up a chunk of banana bread from the tray, eating it slowly. His stomach burned fiercely in resentment. Upon sensing Ellandra, however…something far worse burned. Guilt.
This was something he’d overlooked entirely when he’d originally gotten the seal. Now…now he was putting her through so much pain…He kept close to Rhian, but moved closer to Ellandra, wanting to comfort her. Ellandra….I’m…I’m so sorry….” He took a step closer, using the arm that was not full of Rhian, to wrap close to Ellandra, trying to ease away the sorrow, insist he was just fine, really…
Sis, I just forgot to eat…just need some lunch and all’s well…

Vin was eyeing them all with that 'pretend I'm not here sulking' half-scowl, all too aware of the communication hovering and buzzing about from one to the other. He almost wished he could use his feathers as antennae to pluck the dialogue that was undoubtedly going on out of the air really.
Oh come on seriously, this situation was ridiculous. Aoi wasn't mute and Rhian wasn't deaf wasn't she. Good gods.
The mimicker was on the verge of making up his mind and leaving them to socially go and keep on saying nothing at all, when yet another presence made itself known from the sounds of the front door opening, followed by a bout of quite deliberate, uncanny accurate meowling. A moment later two dozen kittens were making their way to the kitchen hurriedly, conjuring up a chorus of mewing as they popped up from various nooks and crannies in the house. It's like the crows, only endlessly fluffier. Guess who's home, not expecting guests one bit.
Miss Longway had plowed on through to the kitchen rather chipperly right away, dunked the herd of felines a good amount of dinner into their bowls, and only then came out into the living room humming pleasantly, her recently-grown caramel tail swishing behind her. Yup, this lady actually felt comfortable in her skin, oh yes. As usual, Misha was apparently still out on a late mission, but he wouldn't be much longer now anymore.
"... ola. Small gathering." she'd been about to go peek around and ask where Elst was when she finally caught onto the fact there was a sceance of quietness going on right there. No spidey-senses about essentics for the lady, nope. Mildly thrown off rhythm, she spent a moment looking at all present. Why hello there, y'all.

Ellandra patted Aoi's arm and smiled at him gently - weakly. "It's all right, Aoi, it just. surprised me, that's all." Then, her reassuring the flower child that she was alright finished - despite that it was something of a lie and yes he'd know that already - and turned to Vin, checking over the bandages on his arm. "Now, what about you, good sir?" She asked quietly, hmming to herself and inspecting him for general health-needs. "Have you changed those bandages recently?" she asked, entering mother-hen mode and barely noticing Longway's entrance, so focused was she now on fussing over the poor Essentic. He was up against SuperMom! now, he didn't stand a chance!
Rhian turned away from the munching Aoi and offered a wave to Miss Longway, then giggled soundlessly at Ellandra starting to fuss over her 'uncle'. 'Mama's mommying him. . . he's so big and she's so little, it's funny!'

Only slowly starting to 'get' what was going on here, Timka could only stare at all of them, the tip of her tail flicking. Well, always an adventure seeing Ellandra again... Oh, she was getting the big oaf all flustered. Smooth move woman, smooth move, I like your style already today.
Vin had NOT seen that sudden attention coming, and initially quite merrily stared his bird-eyes wide at her. What... whatwhat. In a reflex he had no real contrl over, not as befuddled as he was, he drew his arm back from her. Mind, no touchie. It might make him look like a squeamish baby, but there was more than only preventing his own pain to the jerkback.
"... last evening for the last time." he delivered her a rather blunt answer to her enquiry, making no move to go defensive nor allow her to inspect him further. Thinking about it, that might have been slightly long ago, considering how recent the burn was. Wait, she wouldn't honestly pry into that now would she.
Holding back from snerking out loud, Timka excuuuused herself politely. "I'll go see if I can find Elst, people. Behave~" And off she was. Teehee, go get'm Ella.
Soon enough, the chipper lady was out, venturing to go coax her luffly fern out of the other ferns, mrowling relaxedly to ping him out.

Ellandra’s words did nothing to change the Alter’s view on himself, for doing something so careless. For the moment, he began to take Rhian’s wordless messages and broadcast them so everyone could hear her. Or, well, at least could hear the thoughts she intended for everyone to hear. The blindfold’s chains sparked every now and then, glowering with the energy of one of the spirits controlling the Seal. He kept hugged around the visiting Gradys for the moment. There was the slight sound of him clearing his throat. “I…try to make sure he takes care of himself…” His former frown lightened slightly as he heard his sister’s words. Heh, yeah…she’s definitely a mom….
He offered a nod of greeting to Longway as she came in, sending general hug-feelings over to her mentally because his arms were currently occupied. He adjusted his arm to allow himself to eat a little more, however, savoring the banana bread’s rich, moist taste, though his appearance still seemed sickly.

Vin didn't need to utter any words to get a basic message of 'look who's talking here' across rather loud and clear. How about you stop trying to raise the adults and work on keeping yourself in order for once.
Outdoors, Timka quietly sneakie'd up on Elst once she'd located him, and pounced him lightly. Cookoo.

Ellandra nodded to Aoi but kept her focus on Vin's bandaged arm. "Hm.. .. . I'd say it couldn't hurt to change the bandages and make certain that injury's healing well.... Come on, then, I can see you'd rather sit, but let's go off to the bathroom and look at that, and let the little ones visit a bit, hm? I promise, we'll come baack to them quickly," she said, keeping up the flow of chatter but not giving Vin a chance to say 'no' or voice any sort of real argument. Rhian giggled soundlessly again and waved at Vin, basically telling him to 'go with her, she'll never stop if you don't'.
Tugging at Aoi's arm a little, Rhian tilted her head and grabbed some banana bred for him, doing her own version of mommy-fussing for the moment. 'Come on, Aoi, east up! Your petals look all wilty kinda and that makes me sad...'' Pausing for a moment, she glanced wildly around the room, sure she'd just heard the creepy last of that Rezz-man, just absolutely certain of it and she squeezed her eyes closed, seeking solace in Aoi's arms.

Vin's scowl deepened to a rather harsh, unamused glare, yet he still didn't lose his dignity by beginning to argue. He knew she was making a valid point, the only thing he wasn't agreeing with was the detail of him needing any help with it. Woman I'll be fine. Just as clearly as he sometimes realised a catch is out of his league even before he started hunting, he knew it was no use trying to get away from this particular female. Okay, I get it, stop talking already. You're not going to let me be and sit here, you're going to momma over me, for whatever crazy reason you might have. Rather going with her now than have her start physicaly bosing him around, the mimicker stood up again.
He cast Rhian the same unamused glance as he made to follow Ellandra, but dulled down on the harshness of it for her. Alright, alright. But don't expect me to like it. You go and work your charm with Aoi, hm...
Alright, to the bathroom then. By now he knew where the appropriate supplies were gathered, and he'd made a basic selection of whatever he needed right now days ago.
