Aludra copied the move as his teacher did it, typing every word in his mind and locking them all away in his memory, a slight smile on his face from the general excite of being able to learn swordplay in the least. When he was asked which course he wanted to take, he paused for only a moment of thought.
"See if he can remember them first? Will be quick." A sort-of compromise that consisted of him quickly running them over in his head before executing each one, managing to weave them all together into one string of movements and cutting back on the time it would take to go through them all again one-by-one. Once he'd finished, he allowed for any critiques before assuming the position that he'd been told was the starting, fingers flexing nervously on the wooden handle. "Mock-fight now."

Ary nodded and held up the sword in her general starting position, a variation of the basic one she had taught Aludra. She smelled ever so faintly the metallic scent of blood paired with something like fear... Nerves. The slight blood scent shifted her into a more aggressive temperament.
"You first," she muttered, voice quiet as she didn't trust herself to speak properly. Blood always brought out that animal instinct she tried to keep quiet and minimal. Her grip instinctively tightened and eyes narrowed, focusing completely on Aludra and whatever his next move would be. All the while, her mind was whirling about with random and sporratic thoughts that were both crude and helpful. Such as how good the spawn might taste and how best to keep herself from a full out assault.
After all, it wasn't like Aludra was a spawn of Wrath that could withstand her restrained attacks if things got a little out of control.

The smell was blood was lost to Aludra, his senses not abnormally strong unlike some. Rather, his occasionally bordered on weak, especially his sense of taste after a coughing fit, which happened more often than one would think. The quiet words from his teacher's mouth nearly went over his head, but he managed to catch them, nodding firmly. His whole body tensed slightly and he took a deep breath, trying to quell the shivers that came up as a result of performance anxiety.
Finally, he took a first swing, nothing too terribly aggressive and surprisingly predictable, a straight swing toward the older female's stomach. But it was just a mock-battle after all; he expected it to be blocked and then returned. Of course, blocking he was less prepared for, but he would do his absolute best to try and predict the movements of his teacher. And if he didn't... well, he would certainly be disappointed in himself then, wouldn't he?

Ary brought down her sword in a simple block, moving far slower than she usually did so Aludra at least had a chance in seeing her usually lightning-quick movements. She didn't want to completely destroy him, even in her slightly more bestial nature. Sliding the blade along his and gently pushing it away, she aimed to place an imaginary slice across his chest. If he successfully blocked her and countered, well, she'd aim for his head just to put him off guard.

Aludra's sword hit the block, obviously, and he nodded to himself at the movement, trying to memorize it as fact as he was thinking. His sword was pushed away and he moved with it, surprising himself when he was able to block the move to his chest without having to twist himself in any strange way and smiled in his head, keeping a poker face on otherwise. He moved his blade across her's and swung to hit in a similar manner, which was blocked. He was predictably surprised by the attack toward his head and bent himself backward further than he thought he could go, blade flat, palm pressed against it, before he pushed it back and swung his own sword over his head and toward her's with a slight bit more ferocity than he'd had previously, thinking he was good enough to step this up a notch. After all, he didn't want to leave a melee class without it leaving a few bruises, right?

Ary grinned and ducked a bit to evade the blow to her head, holding her sword up to block it better and to give her the perfect counter attack. She hadn't been too terribly surprised by how well he blocked and returned her swings. Well, she hadn't after how well he managed to block her first move. Sliding her sword along his, it practically ricocheted off his and flew to his shoulder only to change mid-swing and aim for his ribs in a sort of feint. If he wanted to up the attack, then who was she to deny him the chance to prove himself?

Aludra moved with the motions the way that he had predicted them to go, but of course was not expecting the tricky move, blocking at the shoulder instead of toward his ribcage, hissing when the wooden sword hit him in the side. Taking a deep breath, he pushed the pain from his mind and returned to the fray, this time taking aim lower and risking an attempt at feigning that into an overhead swing at his teacher's shoulder - not that it would work, he was sure.

Ary smirked as her sword connected with Aludra’s ribs, already knowing that if their blades were real and they were fighting to the death or exhaustion, the greed spawn wouldn’t be standing or even alive unless he was insanely lucky. Yet, she had to give him credit for being a fast learner as a feigned swing to her hip suddenly switched to her shoulder. Fast learner or no, he wasn’t going to get off THAT easy!
A devilish smirk graced her lips, her sword moving lightning fast to intercept Aludra’s at mid-swing. “Good! Remember, when feinting an attack to change direction at the last second and move as quickly as possible. This tactic works well to catch your opponent off guard and reduce their chances of blocking,” she commented, shifting her stance to repeat her previous feint once again, but moving her sword at a slightly faster speed just to prove her point and give him the opportunity to block it and get used to the idea of feinting.

A slight smile graced Aludra's lips even as his feint was blocked, nodding at the advice as the moves continued through, feeling a faint flicker of pride as he predicted and correctly blocked the feint from his current sparring partner. As soon as he'd blocked that, he continued and struck once again, well expecting all of his attacks to be blocked and parried and getting faster and faster each time, being hit less and less as the fight continued.
By the end of his lesson, he was sure that he was bruised and battered underneath his clothing. And yet, there was a slight smile on his face as he handed the wooden sword back to his teacher before wiping the sweat from his brow. "Had fun; learned a lot. Hopes to have another class soon, yes?" he asked with that same slight smile, tail flicking gently behind him.

Ary, as expected, blocked most of Aludra’s attacks while dancing away from the rest. He was catching on quick, a good thing in her opinion. Some people could take years to learn what he managed to do in all of an hour and a half. By the end, though, even she had to admit to feeling a little tired after constantly blocking the ever quickening moves. But, that wasn’t going to slow her down much as a pale hand took the second wooden sword. “Of course. Why would I deny you a class? That was the most fun I’ve had in a while,” Ary replied, a slight smile gracing her face as she put the swords away.

The smile on the boy's face only widened slightly with the response from his teacher, tail trailing across the ground gently and a faint blush crossing his face at what he took as a compliment. "Ah... yes. He had fun, too," Aludra replied, nodding a few times, extremely happy that his melee teacher hadn't gotten fed up with him and actually wanted him to return. That smile still perking up the corner of his lips, he headed for the door, waving over his shoulder a moment before he headed back home. "Bye. Will see again soon."
