It connects...

... but gina's armored plating simply negates the attack...

Gina grins. Maybe she had a fighting chance after all.

Reaching to her side, she picks up a chair and, lifting it over her head, throws it straight at the guard.

It seemed her luck still hadn't quite straightened out, though, as the object whizzed just past Willhelm's head and hit the wall behind him.

(If you want, we can continue this to the end, or end it prematurely for sake of moving on..)

(now for the level up process)

Gina sighed as the chair took down the guard. She could feel herslef growing... stronger, more powerful. Her skin changed to be more like leather, as she surged up nearly ten feet...

(in every good rpg, there's room for advancement. I'm not sure the best way to really make things balanced yet, as that's mostly trial and error. I'm guessing 20 'points' per level probably wouldn't be a bad idea, though. Then, you can exchange points for other things.

1 point per attribute like strength
5 points per number of die used to attack
15 points to upgrade a die by two sides
20 points to upgrade a die to 20 sided, or 100

For example might be the exchange rate. So let's see if you can alter the stats accordingly. First, tell me how you'd want to improve Gina?)

((Alright... I'm thinking 3 strength, 3 dexterity, 5 constitution, 4 wisdom, and an added die for attack))

Oh yeah, i forgot to mention the tables involved with stat modifiers...

Generally, it's two points per level up.

I.e.

10, 11 = +0
12, 13 = +1
14, 15 = +2

etcetera. Also, i should look up the Base attack bonus stuff... i think it goes up a bit each level too..

Looks like you got that down though. The only thing forgotten was to add 1d to the attack, changing either melee, ranged, or special to a 2d4 instead of 1d4....

((Ah, yeah, like I'd said I though the attack dice bonus was for to hit, not damage... Though I'll gladly take damage xd ))

The way i designed it, it should be more like...

Damage-
Melee (str): 1d4
Ranged (dex): 1d4
Special (wis): 2d4

or something. Hp is a bit of a strange one to work with; the way i came up with level 1 is 10, plus constitution, thus 10 + 11 = 21. I'm going to guess that if you really want to do fairly, you probably could have...

10 + const x 1/2 level... so this level would be 25? Then if cont isn't improved, you'd have 50?

Since I haven't field tested any of this, I'm not sure how well that comes out in the latter stages with superpowered monsters, but for now, that might be fair...

Concerning the EXP gains, it's rather hard to say, as each method tends to be different. for example, many monsters have a rating known as "challenge level", which is a measure of how difficult they may be. Like, stormtroopers are level 1. they grant 200 exp. However, if a person is 5 challenge levels beloow you, i.e. you'er level 6, the stormtrooper's only worth 2o exp, 10%...

Then, you get into determining how to split exp amongst the members of a party. Also, there's ways to determine how challenging multiple opponents are, depending on how many players in a party.

It's assumed 4 players in a party, usually. keep with me here.

4 stormtroopers, CL of 1. 1 x 4 = 4.

4/3 = 1.333 or 1. So, if all the members in the party are level one, four lvl 1s vs 4 lvl 1s is an average encounter....

Say we take lieutenants...

4 lieutenants x CL 3 = 12
12 / 3 = 4

4 lieutenants make an average fight for 4 lvl 4 characters in a party. or, an epic fight for 4 lvl 1s in a party.

In spite of all that, i'm just assuming you're going to grant exp, and make benchmarks accordingly.

((Alright, except I think it'd be 26 hitpoints, right? 10 + (16*[0.5*2]) = 10 + (16*1) = 10 + 16 = 26

Anyway, I'll modify the previous post's stats instead of posting them all all over again. What lesson is next, master? smile ))

yeah, i misread the str. for con.... I'm trying to rush through this a bit, going from book to book....

Did we want to maybe add feats? Feats are like, special skills which could be added to increase damage and durability. It might be something to look into with male coordinators too.

Example feats would be like... double attack, or improved toughness.

(well, normally players have talents, feats, and skills. Since we're trying to make it simple, i've cut out quite a bit of them. But if I don't do something with coordinators, they'll basically be little more than onlookers. If they're the mad scientists who created the monsters and control them though, they should know how to modify and adapt stuff...

Like... If one of the monsters is a giant robot, she may have more than one ranged attack. Some are accurate weapons, but relatively weak, like vulcan machine guns. A coordinator could eventually upgrade the armor piercing ability though, making them fairly strong against tough defenses. On the other hand, there might be giant cannons that need accuracy improvements...

With mutated creatures, it would be new spells, like flight, sonic blasts, or massive claws.

Sadly, this might become quite a giant list that's made on the fly, although that's part of the fun, the trial and error...)
